Rechargeable Batteries

Rechargeable lead-acid batteries are the same type used in automobiles. As with your car battery, how you use this battery has a significant impact on its lifespan. With proper use and treatment, a lead-acid battery can last for years. Here are some recommendations for getting the longest life from the internal battery.

General Usage	Fully charge the battery before using it.
	Charge the battery completely after each use.
Storage	For best product longevity, do not store at exceedingly hot (greater than
	90°F/32°C) or exceedingly cold (less than 32°F/0°C) temperatures.
	It is acceptable to leave your sound system plugged in. This will not
	overcharge the battery.
	If you leave the battery level low and do not charge it for 6 months, it may
	permanently lose capacity.
Repair	If the battery fails to charge, check your fuse near the power cable input. If your
	fuse is intact and it still will not charge, contact ION Audio at ionaudio.com.
Disposal	Bring the unit to a recycling center or dispose of in accordance with local
	ordinances.

Quick Setup

1.Make sure all items listed under Introduction > Box Contents at the beginning of this guide are included in the box.

2.Read safety instruction booklet before using the product.

3.For optimal performance, place Block Rocker Flash in the center of the room so it is unobstructed by walls, furniture, etc.

4.Turn down the Master Volume on the Block Rocker Flash.

5.Turn on Block Rocker Flash.

6.Connect your music player with an audio cable or Bluetooth. (see Operation >

Connecting with a Bluetooth Device for more details on this)

7.Adjust the volume on your music player and on Block Rocker Flash as needed.

8.Adjust the Speaker Light Mode button on Block Rocker Flash as needed.

9.Turn off Block Rocker Flash when not in use.

Features

Front/Top Panel

1.Auxiliary Input: This stereo 1/8” (3.5 mm) input can be used to connect a smartphone, MP3 player, or other audio source.

2.Speaker Link: Connect two or more Block Rocker Flash together using a 1/8” (3.5 mm) stereo aux cable from the Link Output of one Block Rocker Flash to the Aux Input of the second Block Rocker Flash.

3.Microphone Inputs with Volume Control (1/4”): This mono input accepts 1/4” (6.35 mm) inputs such as a microphone, guitar, or other musical instrument.

4.Display: Displays the current radio station, battery status, and Bluetooth status.

•Charging Indicator: When the power cable is connected, movement of the top battery segment shows the battery is charging. When fully charged, all battery segments will be lit without blinking. When the power cable is disconnected, the battery segment shows the level of the battery.

•Lightning Bolt Icon: The lightning bolt icon will illuminate when the IEC power cable is connected to wall power.

•Bluetooth Icon: The Bluetooth icon will not be lit when Block Rocker Flash is first powered on (unless it was previously paired with a device). The Bluetooth icon will be lit solid when a device is paired to Block Rocker Flash.

•Power Indicator: The power indicator (radio display decimal point) will be lit when Block Rocker Flash is powered on. The power indicator will not be lit when Block Rocker Flash is powered off.

5.Bluetooth: Press this button to disconnect a paired Bluetooth device.

6.Speaker Light Mode: Press this button to cycle through these different light effects:

•EQ Bars (reactive to music)

•Vertical Lights Wipe (non-reactive to music)

•Diagonal Lights Wipe (non-reactive to music)

•Vertical Lights Scrolling (non-reactive to music)

•Snowflake/Square Lights (non-reactive to music)

•Moving Block Bar (reactive to music)

•Pulsating Block (reactive to music)

•Horizontal Pulsating Bar (reactive to music)

•Diagonal with Changing Colors (reactive to music)

•Cross with Changing Colors (reactive to music)

•Solid Color (reactive to music)

•Pulsating Block with Spinning Block (reactive to music)

•Snowflake/Square Lights Fill (non-reactive to music)

•Spinning Crosses and Expanding Square (non-reactive to music)

•Vertical Pulsating Bar (reactive to music)

7.Radio Selector: This button sets the radio to FM1, FM2, or AM, or turns the radio off.

8.AM/FM Presets: Store a favorite radio station and quickly tune to a preset radio station. There are 6 numeric positions to store AM band presets and 12 numeric positions to store FM band presets (6 numeric positions for FM1 and 6 numeric positions for FM2). To add a preset:

i.Select either the FM1, FM2, or AM band and then use the Radio buttons to select the desired radio station.

ii.Press and hold a numeric preset button to assign the current station to that preset number. The display will show “SAVE” to show the station has been saved. To use an added preset, tap a preset number once lightly to go to the stored radio station.

9.Play/Pause: Press to play or pause a track from a connected Bluetooth device.

10.Tune/Track Buttons: Tap these buttons to tune in a radio station or go to the previous/next track on a Bluetoothconnected device. To "seek" (jump to the next available station), hold either button down for a few seconds until it starts to seek a station. The unit will remember the last station it was on and start at that station when powered off and on again.

11.Master Volume Control: This adjusts the speaker’s main mix volume, which includes the Microphone Input, Auxiliary Input, Radio, and the audio of a paired Bluetooth device.

12.USB Charging Port: Connect your device’s charge cable here to charge it. USB charging only functions when the unit’s power is turned on.

Note: To charge smartphones and tablets faster, put the device’s screen to sleep.

13.Antenna: Adjust this FM antenna to get the best radio reception. Fold this down when not using the radio and when moving the unit.

14.NFC (near-field communication): Touch and briefly hold your supported and enabled device to the NFC logo to pair the device.

Rear Panel

1.Power On/Off Switch: Turns Block Rocker Flash on or off.

2.Power Cable Input (IEC): Insert the included power cable here to power the unit.

3.Fuse: If the unit’s fuse is broken, lift this tab to replace the fuse. Replace it with a fuse with an appropriate rating. Using a fuse with an incorrect rating can damage the unit and/or fuse.

Operation

Connecting with a Bluetooth Device

1.Turn on your Bluetooth device.

2.Power on Block Rocker Flash and it will automatically go into pairing mode to search for Bluetooth devices. You will know you are in pairing mode when the Bluetooth LED is off.

3.If your Bluetooth device is not able to pair to Block Rocker Flash, press the Bluetooth Disconnect button on the unit to break previous Bluetooth connections and reset the Bluetooth module.

4.Navigate to your Bluetooth device’s setup screen, find Block Rocker Flash and connect. Note: If your Bluetooth device prompts for a pairing code, enter 0000.

5.Bluetooth LED will light up solid when it is “paired.”

Note: If you experience trouble pairing or playing music, update your device's OS.

6.To disconnect pairing, press the Bluetooth Disconnect button on Block Rocker Flash.

7.To connect to another Bluetooth device, repeat steps 3-4.

Note: Maximum range will be achieved when using devices with Bluetooth 4.0.

Pairing a Bluetooth Device Using NFC

NFC (near-field communication) allows data exchange from devices, such as pairing, by gently bumping them together. Check in your device’s manual to see if this feature is supported.

To use NFC to pair with Block Rocker Flash:

1.In order to use NFC, your device must be turned on and unlocked.

2.Enter your device’s Settings menu and check that NFC is turned On (one-time step).

3.Power on Block Rocker Flash.

4.Touch and briefly hold your device to the NFC logo.

5.Follow the pairing instructions that appear on your phone. If a passcode is required, enter

0000.

6.To unpair, gently bump your device against the NFC logo located on Block Rocker Flash’s top panel.

Troubleshooting

If the sound is distorted: Try lowering the volume control of your sound source or musical instrument. Also, try to reduce the overall volume of Block Rocker Flash.

If there is too much bass: Try adjusting the tone or EQ control on your sound source to lower the bass level. This will allow you to play the music louder before clipping (distortion) occurs.

If there is a high-pitched whistling noise when using microphones: This is probably feedback. Point the microphone away from the speaker.

If there is poor AM reception: To adjust AM reception, move entire unit.

If you can’t hear the microphone over the music volume: Turn down the music volume from your source.

If you can’t play music from a flash drive: The USB port is only for charging USB devices.

Baterías recargables

Las baterías de plomo-ácido recargables son del mismo tipo que se usa en los automóviles. Al igual que con la batería del vehículo, la forma en que se usa tiene una influencia significativa en la duración de su vida útil. Con un uso y tratamiento correctos, una batería de plomo-ácido puede durar varios años. He aquí algunas recomendaciones para prolongar la vida útil de la batería interna.

Uso general	Cargue completamente la batería antes de usarla.
	Cargue la batería completamente después de cada uso.
Almacenamiento	Para lograr la mayor longevidad del producto, no lo almacene a
	temperaturas muy altas (superiores 32°C/90°F) o muy frías (inferiores a
	0°C/32°F).
	Es aceptable dejar su sistema de sonido enchufado. No sobrecargará
	la batería.
	Si deja que el nivel de la batería baje y no la carga durante 6 meses,
	puede perder permanentemente su capacidad.
Reparación	Si la batería no se carga, compruebe su fusible cerca de la entrada del
	cable de alimentación. Si el fusible está intacto y la batería sigue sin
	cargarse, póngase en contacto con ION Audio en ionaudio.com.
Disposición final	Lleve la unidad a un centro de reciclaje o deséchela de acuerdo a las
	ordenanzas locales.

Instalación rápida

1.Asegúrese que todos los artículos incluidos en Introducción > Contenido de la caja, al comienzo de esta guía, estén incluidos en la caja.

2.Lea el folleto de instrucciones de seguridad antes de utilizar el producto.

3.Para lograr un rendimiento óptimo, coloque el Block Rocker Flash en el centro de la sala donde no esté obstaculizado por paredes, muebles, etc.

4.Baje el control de volumen maestro del Block Rocker Flash.

5.Encienda el Block Rocker Flash.

6.Conecte su reproductor de música con un cable de audio o Bluetooth (para obtener más detalles de esto, consulte Funcionamiento > Conexión con un dispositivo Bluetooth).

7.Ajuste el volumen en su reproductor musical y en el Block Rocker Flash según sea necesario.

Características

Panel frontal

1.Entrada auxiliar: Esta entrada de 3,5 mm (1/8") estéreo se puede usar para conectar un téléphone, MP3 u otra fuente de audio.

4.Pantalla: Muestra la emisora de radio actual, el estado de la batería, y el estado del Bluetooth.

•Indicador de carga: Con el indicador de carga de la batería, cuando el cable de corriente está conectado, el movimiento del segmento superior de la batería muestra que se está cargando. Una vez completamente cargada, todos los segmentos de la batería estarán encendidos sin parpadear. Cuando se desconecta el cable de corriente, el segmento de la batería muestra en nivel de la misma.

•Icono del relámpago: El icono del relámpago se encenderá cuando el cable de corriente IEC esté conectado a una toma de corriente de pared.

•Icono de Bluetooth: Este icono de Bluetooth no se enciende cuando el Block Rocker Flash se enciende por primera vez (a menos que hubiera sido apareado previamente con un dispositivo). El icono de Bluetooth se enciende con luz azul continua cuando hay un dispositivo apareado al Block Rocker Flash.

7.Selector de radio: Este botón ajusta la radio a FM1, FM2, AM, o la apaga.

8.Preprogramaciones de AM/FM: Memorice una emisora de radio favorita y sintonice rápidamente una emisora preprogramada. Hay 6 posiciones numéricas para almacenar presets de banda AM y 12 posicione s numéricas para almacenar presets de banda FM (6 posiciones numéricas para FM1 y 6 posiciones numéricas para FM2). Para agregar una emisora preprogramada:

i.Seleccione ya sea la banda de FM1, FM2, o AM y luego use los botones del sintonizador para seleccionar la emisora de radio deseada.

ii.Pulse y retenga un botón numérico de preprogramación para asignar la emisora que está escuchando a ese número. Aparecerá “SAVE” (Guardada) en la pantalla para mostrar que se guardó la emisora. Para usar una emisora agregada, toque ligeramente una vez un número de preprogramación para ir a la emisora de radio memorizada.

9.Reproducir/Pausa: Pulse para reproducir o hacer pausa en una pista de un dispositivo Bluetooth conectado.

10.Botones de sintonizador/pista: Toque ligeramente estos botones para sintonizar una emisora de radio o pasar a la pista anterior/siguiente de un dispositivo Bluetooth conectado. Para "buscar" (saltar a la siguiente emisora disponible), mantenga pulsado cualquier botón durante unos segundos hasta que empieza a buscar la emisora. La unidad recuerda la última emisora que estaba sintonizada y comienza en esa emisora cuando la apaga y enciende nuevamente.

11.Control de volumen maestro: Este control ajusta el volumen de la mezcla principal del altavoz, que incluye la entrada de micrófono, la entrada auxiliar, el sintonizador y el audio de un dispositivo Bluetooth apareado.

12.USB estación: Conecte aquí el cable de carga de su dispositivo para cargarlo. La carga por USB funciona solamente cuando la unidad está encendida.

Nota: Para cargar sus teléfonos inteligentes (smartphones) y tabletas más rápido, ponga la pantalla de su dispositivo en estado de reposo.

13.Antena: Ajuste esta antena de FM para obtener la mejor recepción de las emisoras de radio. Dóblela cuando no esté utilizando la radio o al trasladar la unidad.

14.NFC (comunicación de campo cercano): Toque y acerque brevemente su dispositivo habilitado y soportado al logo de NFC para aparearlo.

1.Interruptor de encendido / apagado: Enciende y apaga el Block Rocker Flash.

2.Entrada del cavo de alimentación (IEC): Inserte aquí el cable de alimentación incluido para alimentación la unidad.
