labelsfromthelinerandwindupthespentlinerinsidethe
printer’smediacompartment.Labels,tickets,tags,etc.canbe

aspecialguidetothefrontoftheprintunit.
Thekitconsistsofasteppermotorthatdrivesthelinerdrive
rollerintheprintunit(fittedasstandard)andatakeuphubin
themediacompartment.Aguideshaftisfittedtothecenter
sectionimmediatelybehindtheslackabsorber.Aguideplateis
fittedattherearofthemediacompartmentandcanbeusedto
replacethestandardtearbarontheprintunitforbatchtakeup

TheEasyCoderPX4iprintercaneasilybefittedwithanoptional
papercutter.Thecutterunitreplacesthefrontdoororthelabel
takensensor(LTS),ifoneisequipped.Itisconnectedbyasingle
cabletotheDIN-connectorontheprinter’sfront.Thepaper
cutterisavailablebothasafactory-installedoptionandasa
operator-installablekit.
Thepapercutterincreasestheprinter’stotalweightby
approximately1.0kg(2.2lb)anditslengthby28mm(1.1in).
Thepapercutterisintendedtocutthroughcontinuousnonadhesivepaper-basedmediaorthroughthelinerbetweenlabels.
Itmustnotcutthroughanyadhesive,whichwouldsticktothe
cuttingpartsandrapidlyrenderthecutterinoperable–possibly
alsocausingdamagetotheelectricmotor.Maximumthickness
fornormalpaper-basedmaterialsis175μm(≈175grams/m2).
Thepapercuttercanbetiltedforwardinordertofacilitate
cleaningandmediaload.Formedialoadinstructions,see

possibletousemediarollswith3in/76mminnerdiameter

Theadapterispressedontothemediasupplyhubandheldin

screwhitsaroundedplasticsurface,notametalleafspring.

TheLabelTakenSensor(LTS)isaphotoelectricsensorfittedto
thecentersectioninsidethefrontdoor.Itallowstheprinter’s

Thelabeltakensensorisusuallyfactory-fitted,butisalso
availableasakitforinstallationbyanauthorizedservice
