Interlogix TX-E611 Installtion Instruction

TX-E611 Flood and Freeze Sensor 319.5 MHz
Installation Sheet
Enrolling
To enroll the sensor, set your panel into program mode. Then go to the Learn Sensors menu. Refer to your specific alarm panel instruction manual for details on these menus. On the TX-E611, locate the vertical line on the side of the sensor. You will need a magnet (not included) to initiate a transmission from the sensor.
1. To learn in as a flood sensor, tap a magnet to the sensor at the point indicated by the line. Repeat as required. Then select the appropriate sensor group and number. The flood sensor uses the serial number printed on the back of the device.
2. To learn the freeze sensor, tap and hold a magnet at the point indicated by the line for two seconds. Repeat as required. Then select the appropriate sensor group and number.
Operation
The TX-E611 flood sensor is designed to detect water across the gold probes and will alert immediately when present. The freeze sensor will trigger when the temperature is below 41°F (5°C) and will send a restoral at 45°F (7°C).
Placement
Place the sensor anywhere that you wish to detect water and/or freezing temperatures, such as under a sink, near a hot water heater, in a basement or behind a washing machine. Determine this location is suitable for the sensor by following the procedure in the section “Testing the Sensor” ensuring desired signal strength is achieved. If you would like to make sure the sensor does not move from its intended location, use the provided sensor bracket and secure it either to the floor or wall.
Where possible, install sensors within 100 ft. (30 m) of the panel. While a transmitter may have an open-air range of 500 ft. (150 m) or more, the environment at the installation site may have a significant effect on operational range. Changing a sensor location may improve wireless communication.
Testing the Sensor (Test Weekly)
The sensor test verifies proper communication between the sensor and the panel/receiver. To test the sensor, refer to the specific panel/receiver documentation and do the following:
1. Put the panel/receiver into sensor test mode.
2. By using a magnet you can send a Flood OR Freeze transmission. Place the magnet on the line
located on the side of the case and remove it within 1 second to send a flood transmission. If you hold the magnet for 2 seconds, it will send a freeze transmission. Placing wet fingers on any two probes will also trigger a flood transmission.
3. Listen for siren beeps to determine the appropriate response.
4. Exit sensor test mode.
Replacing the Battery
When the battery is low, a signal will be sent to the control panel. To replace the battery:
1. Carefully remove the white rubber feet on the bottom of the flood detector.
2. Remove the 3 screws and open the case. Replace battery with a CR2450 Lithium Battery.
3. Replace the screws and rubber feet.
