• Inst allation and use MUST comply wi th all state and local plumbing codes .
System Requirements (Hot Water Tank, Filtration System and Dispenser):
• The flexible ve nt and outlet tubes must be correc tly connected to the tap supplied by
the manufacturer. They must not be obs tructed or connected to a norm al type tap or
any other type.
• Do not ins tall on hot water supply lines. The ma ximum operating water temperature of
this system is 100°F (37.8°C) . Attach to cold water supply onl y.
• Do not ins tall if water pressure exceeds 125 psi (8 62 kPa). If your wa ter pressure
exceeds 80 psi (552 kPa ), you must install a pressu re limiting valve. Contact a
plumbing professional if you are unce rtain how to check your water press ure.
• Do not ins tall where water hammer conditions may oc cur. If water hammer conditions
exist you must install a water hammer ar rester. Contact a plumbing professi onal if you
are uncertain how to check for t his condition.
• Where a bac kflow prevention device is inst alled on a water system, a device for
controlling pressure due to ther mal expansion must be installed.
• Protec t from freezing, shut off water su pply, remove filter cartridge, drain hot wa ter
tank and tubing when temperature s are expected to drop below 40° F ( 4.4° C); see
Seasonal Storage/Dra inage section.
• Do not use a t orch or other high temperature sourc es near system, cartridges , plastic
fittings or plastic plumbing.
• Do not ins tall near water pipes which will be in path of a dr illing tool when selecting
the position to mount the bracke t.
• Mount sy stem in such a position as to prevent it fr om being struck by other items used
in the area of installation.
• Ensure th at the location and fastener s will support the weight of the syst em when
installed and full of water.
• Ensure all t ubing and fittings are secure and f ree of leaks.
• Do not ins tall using rigid piping. System intended f or use with plastic water lines ( such
as PEX tubing, PE tubing, PP tubing).
• Do not ins tall this system if any of the quick connec t collets are missing from the filte r
head or Y-Quick Connector. Contac t an authorized InSinkErato r Service agent if collets
are missing from any fittings .
• For sys tems using two handle HC model faucet s, operate only one handle at a time.
• Impor tant: Do not allow the unit to co ntinuously boil.
• Regularl y inspect the system. If there are si gns of water leakage, turn off the w ater
supply and contact an author ized InSinkErator Serv ice agent.
• A drain pan, p lumbed to an appropriate drain or out fitted with a leak detec tor, should
be used in those applications whe re any leakage could cause proper ty damage.
• For ques tions or concerns, please cont act an authorized InSinkEr ator Service agent
(see back page for contact information).
Additional Consideration when Utilizing Filtration System:
• The dispo sable filter cartridge MU ST be replaced every 6 months, a t the rated capacity
or sooner if a noticeable reduct ion in flow rate occurs.
• Failure to r eplace the disposable filter car tridge at recommended interval s may lead to
reduced filter performance and cracks in the filter housing, causing water leakage or
flooding.
• Protec t from freezing, remove filter car tridge when temperatures are expec ted to drop
below 40° F (4.4° C).
• Do not ins tall systems in areas where ambient temp eratures may go above
100°F (37.8°C).
• Do not ins tall in direct sunlight or outdoors .
