Your NS-C2115 under-counter clock radio represents the state of the
art in clock radio design and is designed for reliable and trouble-free
performance.
This symbol, located on the back or bottom of the unit, is intended

within your radio’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to

This product utilizes a Class 1 laser to read CDs and DVDs. This
laser disc player is equipped with safety switches to avoid exposure
when the disc tray is open and the safety interlocks are defeated.

Setting up your radio
Checking AM radio reception
Your clock radio has a built-in antenna for the AM radio. To improve
reception, you need to rotate your clock radio.
Before you mount your clock radio under a counter, tune to an AM
station and rotate your clock radio until you get the best reception.
This is the orientation you need to use when you mount your clock
radio for best AM reception. For more information, see “Improving
reception” on page 11.
Installing the backup batter ies
Your clock radio uses two AAA backup batteries that store your
settings. You cannot use the batteries to power your clock radio.
If your clock radio does not save your settings, you may need to
replace the batteries.

To install the backup batteries:
1 Open the battery compartment located on the right side of your
radio.

2 Insert two AAA batteries (not included) into the battery
compartment. Make sure that the + and – symbols on the
batteries match the + and – symbols in the battery compartment.
3 Close the battery compartment.
To install the remote control battery:
1 Remove the battery holder.

sure that the + and – symbols on the battery match the + and –
symbols on the battery holder.

Using your clock radio and TV
Turning on your clock radio and TV
To turn on your clock radio and TV:
1 Plug the AC power cord into a power outlet.
2 Press the POWER button to turn on the radio and TV.
Setting the time
To set the ti m e:
1 With the power off, press and hold the PLAY MODE/PROG ME M/
CLOCK SET button on the radio or the MEM/CLK SET/RAND
button on the remote control until the display shows “12 hr.” or “24
hr.”
2 Press one of the SKIP/CLOCK/TUNING buttons on the radio or
one of the SKIP/TUNE / buttons on the remote control to
select the 12-hour clock or the 24-hour clock.
3 Press the PLAY MODE/PROG MEM/CLOCK SET button on the
radio or the MEM/CLK SET/RAND on the remote control again
until the hour digits begin flashing, then press one of the
SKIP/TUNE/ buttons on the remote to either increase or
decrease the hours shown.
4 Press the PLAY MODE/PROG MEM/CLOCK SET button on the
radio or the MEM/CLK SET/RAND on the remote control again
until the minute digits begin flashing, then press one of the
SKIP/TUNE/ buttons to either increase or decrease the
minutes shown.
5 Press the PLAY MODE/PROG MEM/CLOCK SET button on the
radio or the MEM/CLK SET/RAND on the remote control again to
exit.
Listening to your radio
To listen to your radio:
1 Press the POWER button to turn on your radio.
2 Press the FUNCTION button one or more times until “”
appears on the display.
3 Press the STOP/BAND button to select AM or FM.
4 Press and hold one of the SKIP/TUNE / buttons to go to
an available radio station.
5 Press one of the VOL buttons (+ or –) to adjust the volume.

Improving reception
Your clock radio has an FM antenna on the back. If you are listening
to an FM station and the reception is poor, move the antenna until
reception improves.
If you are listening to an AM station and reception is not clear, rotate
your radio slightly until reception improves.

Programming radio station presets
You can program as many as 10 FM and 10 AM radio station presets.
You can tune to the preset stations by pressing the
PLAY/PAUSE/MEM UP or REPEAT/MEM DN buttons on the clock
radio , or the PLAY/PA USE/MEM UP or MEM-DN/REPEAT buttons on
the remote control.
To program a radio station:
1 Press the POWER button to turn on your radio.
2 Press the FUNCTION button one or more times until “”
appears on the display.
3 Press the STOP/BAND button to select AM or FM.
4 Press one of the SKIP/CLOCK/TUNING buttons (up or down) on
the clock radio, or one of the SKIP/TUNE / buttons on the
remote control to select a radio station.
5 Press and hold the PLAY MODE/PROG MEM/CLK SET button on
the clock radio or the MEM/CLK SET/RAND button on the remote
control to activate the programming mode.
6 Press one of the SKIP/CLOCK/TUNING buttons (up or down) on
the clock radio, or one of the SKIP/TUNE / buttons on the
remote control to select the preset number you want to assign the
station to.

7 Press the PLAY MODE/PROG MEM/CLK SET button on the clock
radio or the MEM/CLK SET/RAND button on the remote control to
store the station with the preset number you selected.
8 Repeat Steps 4 through 7 to program additional presets.
Tuning to a radio station preset
To tune to a radio station preset:
1 Press the POWER button to turn on your radio.
2 Press the FUNCTION button one or more times until “”
appears on the display.
3 Press the BAND button to select AM or FM.
4 Press the PLAY/PAUSE/MEM UP or REPEA T/MEM DN buttons
on the clock radio, or the MEM-UP or MEM-DN/REPEAT
button on the remote control until the preset number you want
appears on the display.
Setting the equalizer
You can adjust the sound by selecting an equalizer mode.
To select an equalizer mode:
•Press the EQ button one or more times to select the mode you
want. You can select:
•CLASSIC
•JAZZ
•ROCK
•POP
Watching your TV
To watch your TV:
1 Connect a 75 Ohm cable TV or antenna cable to the
TVANTENNA connection on the back of the radio.

screen to a convenient viewing angle.
3 Press the POWER button to turn on your TV.
4 Press the FUNCTION button one or more times until TV appears
on the display.
5 Press the one of the TV CHANNEL buttons (up or down), or press
the number buttons on the remote control to select a channel.

If you’ re using yo ur TV for the first time, y ou must progra m the av ailab le
TV channels into memory. See “Programming TV channels into
memory” on page 13.
6 Press one of the VOL buttons (+ or –) to adjust the volume.
Programming TV channels into memory
To program TV channels into memory:
1 After connecting the antenna and turning on the power, press the
MENU button on your radio twice. The

process. Auto scan takes a few minutes to complete.

elements, then press TV CHANNEL UP or DOWN to adjust:
•BRIGHTNESS
•CONTRAST
•SHARPNESS
•COLOR
•HUE
•DISPLAY (4:3 or Fullscreen)
•DEFAULT (resets adjustments to factory default settings)
3 Press the MENU button again to close the on-screen menu.

Tuning the TV
To tune the TV:
1 With the TV on, press the MENU button twice. The
opens.
2 Press the NAVIGATION button to select each of the following
tuning options, then press TV CHANNEL UP or DOWN to change
the setting:
•CHANNEL—Choose the channel you want to be affected by
the tuning changes.
•TV MODE—Choose from AIR or CABLE.
•FINE TUNE—To fine tune the selected channel’s reception.
•MANUAL TUNE—To tune through the channels manually.
•AUTO SCAN—See “Programming TV channels into memory”
on page 13.
•CHANNEL SWAP—To swap the channels tuned in to different
channel locations.
Watching a DVD
To watch a DVD:
1 Swing the LCD screen down into viewing position and turn the
screen to a convenient viewing angle.
2 Press the POWER button to turn on the player.
3 Press the FUNCTION button one or more times until “DVD”
appears on the display.
4 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the radio to open the disc
tray.

5 Place the DVD with the label side up into the disc tray, then press
the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray.
6 Press the PLAY/PAUSE/MEM UP button on the radio, or press the
MEM-UP button on the remote to begin playback.

Listening to a CD
Your radio can play audio CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs. CD-Rs and
CD-RWs must be finalized before you can play them on your radio.

CD burning software documentation.

5 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to close the disc tray.
6 Press the PLAY/PAUSE/MEM UP button on the radio, or the
MEM-UP button on the remote to begin playback.
7 To control the CD during playback:
•Press the PLAY/PAUSE/MEM UP button on the radio, or
press the MEM-UP button on the remote to pause
playback. Press the button again to resume playback.

•Press one of the SKIP/CLOCK/TUNING buttons (up or
down) on the clock radio, or press one of the SKIP/TUNE
/ buttons on the remote to go to the next or
previous track on the CD.
•Press one of the SKIP/CLOCK/TUNING buttons (up or
down) on the clock radio, or press one of the SKIP/TUNE
/ buttons on the remote to search for a track on the
CD.
•Press the MEM/CLK SET/RAND button on the remote to
select Random playback mode.
8 Press the STOP/BAND button to stop playback.
Connecting an external audio/video input device
To connect an external audio/video input device:
1 Make sure that your radio is turned off and unplugged from the
power outlet.
2 Plug the yellow connector of an audio/video cable (not included)
into the VIDEO IN jack on the left side of your clock radio.
3 Plug the left (white) and right (red) connectors of an audio/video
cable (not included) into the L and R AUDIO IN jacks on the left
side of your clock radio.

4 Plug the other end of the audio/video cable into the Video and
Audio Out jacks on the audio/video input device.
5 Plug the AC power cord into a power outlet, then press the
POWER button to turn on your radio.

on the display.
7 Turn on the external audio device and use the device’s controls to
control playback.

Setting the kitchen timer
You can use your clock radio as a kitchen timer.
To set the kitchen timer:
1 Press the TIMER button one or more times to select a length of
time in minutes. The initial time is 240 minutes. Each time you
press the TIMER button, the length of time decreases by
10 minutes.
2 To increase or decrease the length of time from one to nine
minutes, press one of the SKIP/CLOCK/TUNING buttons (up or
down) one or more times. Each time you press a SKIP/CLOCK/ TUNING button, the length of time increases or decreases
(depending on which button you push) by one minute.
3 When the alarm sounds, press the TIMER button for five seconds
to turn off the alarm.
4 To check the number of minutes remaining, turn on your radio,
then press the TIMER button.
5 To cancel the timer, press the TIMER button for five seconds.

A dirty, scratched, or warped disc may cause skipping or noise.
To care for discs:
•Hold discs by their edges.
•Never touch the shiny sides of discs.
•Do not bend discs.
•Store discs in their cases when you are not using them.
•Do not expose discs to direct sunlight, high humidity, high
temperature, or dust. Prolonged exposure to extreme
temperatures can warp discs.
•Do not put labels or tape on discs.
Make sure that you do not drip water into your radio.
Do not use solvents, such as benzene, because they may damage
the finish.
