USB Type-C® notebook DockingStation

The USB Type-C
Delivery technology has been developed for connection to a computer (e.g. laptop,
notebook, etc.) with Type-C
to be able to connect additional monitors, USB peripherals and memory cards. A
special feature is the additional slot for installing an M.2 NVMe SSD on the bottom
of the DockingStation. The computer can also be supplied with power via a Power
Delivery Type-C

Installation of an M.2 NVMe SSD (optional)

M.2 NVMe SSD not included

1. Unscrew the two screws of the M.2 NVMe SSD cover at the bottom as shown

below and take off the cover.

2. Insert the M.2 NVMe SSD carefully with the connection side first into the M.2

socket at an angle of about 30° so it fits in smoothly.

3. Push the SSD down and fix the M.2 NVMe SSD with the delivered M.2 spacer

and screw as displayed.

4. Prepare the delivered thermal pad and remove the transparent protection foil at

one side.

5. Place the thermal pad (side without foil downwards) directly onto the M.2 NVMe

SSD and remove the second transparent protection foil now.

6. Reattach the cover and the two screws previously removed.

7. Ready to use!

8. Optionally, you can use the supplied protective rubber sleeve to protect the unit.

To do this, place the device in the sleeve according to the cut-outs for the connections.

Advice for an installed M.2 NVMe drive (optional)
M.2 NVMe SSD not inluded

The IB-DK2108M-C with installed M.2 NVMe drive inside can be connected to or
disconnected from the computer via USB cable without shutting down the computer.

A new drive must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the operating
system in order to be displayed by the system.

If the drive is not recognized instantly by the operating, system please check:

- if the driver software is installed (USB)

- if the SSD is initialized, partitioned and formatted

Please await the end of read/write operations before disconnecting the drive in
order to avoid data loss.
The full USB 3.1 (Gen 2) transfer rate can only be achieved with a USB 3.1
(Gen 2) host computer. Furthermore, the USB 3.1 (Gen 2) drivers must be installed
by the operating system. If this is not the case, install the appropriate drivers for your
operating system (Windows®, macOS®).

Installation und Verwendung der DockingStation

Hinweis: Die Videoausgabemöglichkeiten hängen von der verwendeten Grafik-

karte und weiteren Hardwarespezifikationen des angeschlossenen Hostcomputers
ab. Bestimmte Grafikkarten verfügen nur über eingeschränkte Videounterstützung,
während auch einige Monitore nur geringere Auflösungen unterstützen.

Zur optimalen Einstellung Ihrer Anzeigeeinheiten gehen Sie bitte entsprechend Ihres
Betriebssystems und Ihrer Bedürfnisse vor. Genauere Informationen entnehmen Sie
bitte dem Handbuch und den Beschreibungen Ihres Betriebssystems.

Installation einer M.2 NVMe SSD (optional)
M.2 NVMe SSD nicht enthalten

1. Lösen Sie die beiden Schrauben der M.2 NVMe SSD Abdeckung an der Unter­seite des Gerätes und entfernen Sie die Abdeckung.

2. Platzieren Sie die M.2 NVMe SSD vorsichtig mit der Anschlussseite voran und in
einem Winkel von ca. 30° in den M.2-Slot, so dass sie sich widerstandslos einfügt.

3. Drücken Sie die M.2 NVMe SSD dann vorsichtig nach unten und fixieren Sie

diese mittels des gelieferten Abstandshalters und der M.2 Befestigungsschraube.

4. Bereiten Sie das mitgelieferte Wärmeleitpad vor und entfernen Sie die

durchsichitige Schutzfolie auf einer Seite.

5. Legen Sie nun das Wärmeleitpad mit der Seite ohne Folie direkt auf die M.2

NVMe SSD auf und entfernen Sie die zweite durchsichitige Schutzfolie.

6. Setzen Sie die zuvor entfernte Abdeckung wieder auf und befestigen Sie diese

wieder mit den zuvor entnommenen Schrauben.

7. Einsatzbereit!

8. Optionally, you can use the supplied protective rubber sleeve to protect the unit.

To do this, place the device into the sleeve according to the cut-outs for the
connections.

Die IB-DK2108M-C mit der verbauten M.2 NVMe SSD kann im laufenden Betrieb
des Rechners an diesen via USB Kabel angeschlossen oder von diesem getrennt
werden.
Eine neue SSD muss vom Betriebssystem erst initialisiert, partitioniert und formatiert
werden, um vom System angezeigt zu werden.

Wenn die SSD nicht sofort vom System erkannt wird, prüfen Sie bitte:

- ob die Treibersoftware installiert ist (USB)

- ob die SSD initialisiert, partitioniert und formatiert ist.

Bitte das Ende von Schreib- und Lesevorgängen abwarten, bevor ein angeschlosse­nes Gehäuse vom Rechner getrennt wird, um Datenverlust zu vermeiden.

Die volle USB 3.1 (Gen2) Transferrate kann nur mit einem kompatiblen USB 3.1
(Gen2) Hostcomputer erreicht werden. Des Weiteren müssen die USB 3.1 Treiber
seitens des Betriebssystems installiert sein. Sollte dies nicht der Fall sein, installieren
Sie die passenden Treiber für Ihr Betriebssystem (Windows®, macOS®).
