Build Location Area
Location Area is an area that consists of multiple sites, and the SUs can roam without registration within the area. Check
to enable this feature and define the number of sites configurable as one Location Area. This feature can reduce
disturbance caused by the registration process, however, it may decrease traffic channel efficiency.
NOTE:
●
Carefully make the system construction plan. Changing the Location area needs to change system and SUs settings.
●
When the number of sites configurable as one Location Area is defined, dPMRLA is issued for the Location Area.
Apply it to the SU belongs to the built location area.

Call Answer Time
This is the inactivity time that applies to a traffic channel at the start of a call, until the first transmission by an SU is
detected. Normally this value would be equal to or longer than the Message Trunking Inactivity timer.
Emergency Call Time
Set the maximum call duration for an emergency call.
Long Data Call Time

Message Trunking Inactivity
Set the time period for which if no activity is detected, the traffic channel will be cleared down.
Options:

Registration Timeout [hour]
Set the timeout where if a radio is registered and is not heard from again, the registration will be removed.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 720 hours (in 1 hour steps), or "Off.".
Queue Timeout
Set the timeout where if no traffic channel becomes available, the call will be removed from the queue.
Options:
Set to between 5 and 600 seconds (in 5 second steps).
NOTE:
The Timeout timer is up to SU's setting.
When this timer is set longer than SU's one, the SU's timer will be activated prior to this timer.

Call Time Advice attempts
Set the number of repeats for call timer advice messages that are sent by the Beacon channel when a call timer is
changed. The recommended value is 1. A larger value can be set for reliability, but that reduces beacon channel
efficiency.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10.
Go To Channel attempts
Set the number of repeats for Go To Channel messages that are sent by the Beacon channel at the beginning of a call.
The recommended value is 2. A larger value can be set for reliability, but that reduces beacon channel efficiency.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10.
Clear Message attempts
Set the number of repeats for clear messages that are sent out on a traffic channel at the end of a call. The
recommended value is 5. A larger value can be set for reliability, but that reduces traffic channel availability.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10.
Short Data download attempts
Set the number of retries the system makes when trying to deliver a UDT (Unified Data Transport) to a radio unit.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10.
Channel Tidy attempts
Set the number of repeats for Channel Tidy messages that are sent out on a traffic channel at the beginning of a call to
remove any radios not related to the call from the traffic channel. The recommended value is 1. A larger value can be set
for reliability, but that delays the traffic channel allocation.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10.
Availability attempts
Set the number of times the radio being called (AHOYed) on the Beacon channel to locate it before failing the call set up.
The recommended value is 1. A larger value can be set for reliability, but that reduces beacon channel efficiency.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10.
14
Page 15
Acknowledge attempts
Set the number of acknowledgment repeats sent to a radio whenever the radio makes a call attempt or data transfer,
registration, and so on. The recommended value is 0, and there is almost no point to have a larger value.
Options:
Set to between 0 and 10.
◇ Configuration > Site > Other
Maximum queue depth
The maximum number of calls on the call queue before a system overload condition is reached and further call attempts
are rejected. Additional traffic Channel should be considered before having a larger value than the default 5.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10.
Late Entry GTC rate
Set the ratio of the messages other than the Late entry GTC (Go to Channel) message to the GTC message sent on the
Beacon channel. Auto is recommended, that optimizes the ratio depending on the number of the traffic channels.
Options:
Set to between 1 and 10 seconds (in 1 steps), or "Auto."
NOTE:
The Fleet setting overrides this setting.
