Important safeguards
• The instruction manual contains important
operating and maintenance instructions. For
your safety, it is necessary to refer the manual.
Keep the manual for use in future.
• Do not hit or drop the unit.
• Do not expose the unit to vibration, direct
sunlight, too high or low temperature or humidity.
• If you are not going to use the unit within
a long period of time, remove the batteries to
avoid their leakage.

• Do not use the unit near TV sets,
computers, fluorescent lamps and other
electric equipment; this may jam AM reception.
• Do not disassemble the unit yourselves.
Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
Power supply
Battery operation
• Open the battery compartment cover.
• Insert 3 x AA batteries. Please observe
correct battery polarities or the set will not work.
• Close the battery compartment cover.
• When the battery is exhausted, it should
be removed from the set to prevent leakage.
When replacing batteries the stored
information will be lost.
AC operation
Connect a compatible AC/DC-adapter 4.5
V/180 mA (not included) to the power input of
this unit. Please observe the polarity marks
near the power input, otherwise the unit can be
damaged.
MEMORY again to save the setting.
• To see the clock in radio mode, press
MODE button. The clock will be displayed for
several seconds.
Radio operation
Power switch
• Press POWER button once to turn the
radio on, the frequency will be displayed.
• To turn off the radio press POWER button;
the time is displayed.
General operations
Button lock
Slide LOCK switch to lower position to lock
all buttons (except LIGHT button) of this unit to
prevent them from accidental pressing. Slode
LOCK switch to upper positions to enable all
buttons. When buttons are locked, a key icon
will be displayed.
Backlight
Press LIGHT button to switch on the orangecolor backlight of the display. The backlight will
switch off automatically after 8 seconds.
Earphones socket
For private listening please insert the
earphones (not included) into the earphone
jack (the speaker inside the radio disconnects
automatically), now you can listen to the radio
by earphones.
Time setting
• Ensure the radio mode is switched off (clock
is displayed). For this, press POWER button.
• Press TIME SET/MEMORY button; the
clock will flash. Press repeatedly HOUR/+
button to set hours; press repeatedly MIN/button to set minutes. Press TIME SET/
Volume
In receiving state, press VOLUME+/- buttons
to adjust volume.
Band selection
In receiving state, press repeatedly BAND/
WAKE button to choose FM/MW/SW/LW band.
The band name will be displayed.
Antenna
• This unit is equipped with a built-in ferrite
antenna. Select the best orientation of this unit
to get a better reception of MW and LW signal.
• The telescopic antenna is intended for
reception of FM and SW signal. Extend the
antenna and find its best position to get a
better reception of FM or SW signal.
• To improve the signal reception you can
connect an external antenna to the external
antenna jack to this unit.
Manual tuning
In receiving state, press HOUR/+ or MIN/buttons to change the frequency step by step
until the needed station is found.
For SW band, pressing this button will
change the frequency by 5 KHz. To change by
a larger range, press METER button.
Automatic tuning
In receiving state, press and hold HOUR/+
or MIN/- buttons to search for a station

automatically. To stop searching, press this
button shortly.
Direct number entry
In receiving state, press ENTRY button; then
press number buttons to enter the needed
frequency directly (e.g. press “1”, “0”, “2”, “1”
number buttons to enter 102.1 frequency).
Press ENTRY button again to start the
frequency broadcast.
Storing stations
The unit can store up to 10 stations in each
band, making totally 40 stations.
• Select your desired band and tune to the
needed station.
• Press TIME SET/MEMORY button to
enter into the preset mode. The preset number
will show on the display. MEMO indicator will
flash for 4 seconds. During this period press
a number button. The current station will be
saved in the corresponding memory position.
Press TIME SET/MEMORY button again,
MEMO indicator will disappear.
Memory preset number 10 is entered by
“0” number button.
Calling stored stations
In receiving state, press a number button
to call the station stored in the corresponding
memory position. The display will show the
frequency and the position number.
• Press repeatedly BAND/WAKE button to
select the alarm sound. Press once to select
OFF (no alarm sound); press twice to select
bUZ (buzzer sound); press thrice to select rAD
(radio alarm). After 4 seconds the display will
return to clock mode.
• If radio or buzzer is selected for alarm
sound, the alarm icon will be displayed in clock
mode.
• When the preset alarm time comes, the unit
will activate the selected alarm sound. If buzzer
is selected, it will switch off automatically after
30 minutes. If radio is selected, it will switch off
automatically after 60 minutes.
• To switch off the alarm, press POWER
button.
Snooze function
To stop the alarm signal temporarily, press
SLEEP/SNOOZE button, the buzzer or radio
resumes in 9 minutes. This can be repeated
several times.
Sleep function
• With the radio on, press SLEEP/SNOOZE
button, “90” and a bed icon will be displayed.
Each press of this button will decrease the
sleep timer by 10 minutes up to 10 minutes.
• When the preset sleep time expires, the
radio will turn off. To cancel the sleep mode
press SLEEP/SNOOZE button.
Alarm function
Setting the alarm
• In clock mode, press and hold BAND/
WAKE button to enter alarm setting mode. The
alarm icon will be displayed. Alarm time digits
will blink.
• Press repeatedly HOUR/+ button to set
hours; press repeatedly MIN/- button to set
minutes. Press BAND/WAKE button again to
confirm the setting. The display will return to
clock mode.

Maintenance and care
If necessary, clean the unit with a piece
of cloth dampened with water only (be
sure batteries are not inserted into the
battery compartment and the power cord is
disconnected). The unit shall not be exposed to
dripping or splashing and no objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the
unit. Normal ventilation of the unit shall not be
impeded for intended use.
