T01-01 Packaging
T01-0101 Packaging
Objective
To verify the server packaging
Test Networking Diagram

Preset Conditions Test Procedures
1. Check whether the packaging is intact and not soaking.
2. Check the components in the carton based on the packing list.
Expected Result
1. The packaging is in good condition and has no water stain.
2. All components listed in the packing list are intact.

T01-02 Chassis
T01-0201 Chassis Structure
Objective
To verify the server chassis structure.
Test Networking Diagram
None
Preset Conditions
The structure of the mainboard, hard disk backplane, I/O board, indicator board, VGA board, and power board is proper.
Test Procedures
1. Check whether there are any scratches or oxidation on the chassis surface or deformation for the chassis cover.
2. Check the mounting ears and the installation.
3. Install the chassis cover on the server, and screw the chassis cover.
Expected Result
1. The chassis is in good condition, without scratches, oxidation, or deformation.
2. The mounting ears are in good condition and properly installed.
3. The chassis cover is properly installed and screwed.
4. Hard disks are inserted or removed smoothly without scratches on the surface and fit the slots perfectly.

Test Description

T01-03 PSU
T01-0301 Verifying the PSU Installation and Power-on State
Objective
To verify the installation and power-on status of the power supply units (PSUs)
Test Networking Diagram
None
Preset Conditions
The structure of the mainboard, hard disk backplane, I/O board, indicator board, VGA board, and power board is proper.
Test Procedures
1. Insert the two PSUs into the slots. If only one PSU is configured, install a filler panel in the other slot.
2. Connect the PSUs to the power input socket over power cables, and wait 10 seconds.
Expected Result
1. The PSUs and filler panel are installed smoothly and properly.
2. The PSUs fit the chassis properly.
3. The PSUs are working properly and the indicators are steady green when the server is being powered on.
4. No abnormal noise is heard during the power-on operation.

T01-0302 Verifying the Hot Swap Function
Objective
To verify that the PSUs are hot-swappable

Preset Conditions
The structure of the mainboard, hard disk backplane, I/O board, indicator board, VGA board, and power board is proper.
Test Procedures
1. Insert one PSU into the slot.
2. Connect the power cables and wait 10 seconds till the server is powered on.
3. Insert the other PSU into the slot. Check that the power status indicator is steady on.
4. Remove the first PSU from the chassis.
5. Insert the first PSU into the slot. Check that the power status indicator is steady on.
6. Remove the second PSU from the chassis.
Expected Result
The server is working properly during the test, and no power failure occurs.

T01-0303 Verifying the Backup Function
Objective
To verify whether the PSUs are configured in redundancy mode.
Test Networking Diagram

Preset Conditions
The structure of the mainboard, hard disk backplane, I/O board, indicator board, VGA board, and power board is proper.
Test Procedures
1. Install two PSUs in the server.
2. Connect power cables to the PSUs and wait 10 seconds till the server is powered on, and the power status indicators are steady on.
3.
Insert the other PSU into the slot. Check that the power status indicator is steady on.

Remove the first PSU from the chassis.
5.
Insert the first PSU into the slot. Check that the power status indicator is steady on.

T01-04 Hardware Detection
T01-0401 Verifying Hardware Detection
Objective
To verify that the system detects hardware properly
Test Networking Diagram

Preset Conditions
The structure of the mainboard, hard disk backplane, I/O board, indicator board, VGA board, and power board is proper.
Test Procedures 1. Power on the server. Press Del during the startup. Check that the BIOS SETUP
screen is displayed.
2. View the CPU model and quantity.
3. View the total memory capacity.
4. Choose Advanced > PXE Configuration, and view the media access control (MAC) addresses of the four network ports.
5. View the system S/N.
6. View the basic input output system (BIOS) version.
Expected Result 1. The BIOS SETUP screen is displayed.
2. The CPU model and quantity are the same as the actual configurations.
3. The total memory capacity is compatible with actual configurations.
4. The MAC addresses of the four network ports are displayed.
5. The System S/N parameter is specified.

6. The BIOS version is displayed.

T01-05 Hard Disk Controller
T01-0501 Verifying the LSI2308 Hard Disk Controller
Objective
To verify that the hard disk controller operates properly.
Test Networking Diagram

Preset Conditions
The structure of the mainboard, hard disk backplane, I/O board, indicator board, VGA board, and power board is proper, and hard disks are detected after the server is powered on.
Test Procedures
1. Press Ctrl+C as prompted during the startup.
2. View the LSI2308 BIOS version and firmware versions on the displayed screen.
3. On the Adapter Properties screen, check the NVDATA version.
4. On the SAS Topology menu, expand Direct Attach Devices, and check the hard disk model and quantity.
Expected Result
1. The SETUP screen is displayed after you press Ctrl+C.
2. The LSI2308 BIOS version, firmware versions, and NVDATA version are displayed.
3. The hard disk model and quantity are the same as actual configurations.

T01-0502 Verifying the LSI2208 Hard Disk Controller
Objective
To verify that the hard disk controller operates properly.

Preset Conditions
The structure of the mainboard, hard disk backplane, I/O board, indicator board, VGA board, and power board is proper, and hard disks are detected after the server is powered on.
Test Procedures
1. Press Ctrl+H as prompted during the startup.
2. In the Adapter Selection window, click Start. Check that the window for configuring the hard disk controller is displayed.
3. In the Physical View window, view the hard disk quantity, installation positions, and capacity.
4. In the Controller Properties window, view the firmware versions, firmware package version, and WebBIOS version.

T02-01 Alarm Detection
T02-0101 Verifying Alarm Detection
Objective
To verify that any alarms are generated in the server system
Test Networking Diagram
None
Preset Conditions
1. AC power is supplied to the server.
2. The default IP address of the BMC network port is 192.168.2.100/24.
3. The Internet Explorer 8.0, Firefox 9.0, or later is available.
Test Procedures
1. Power on the server system and wait about 20s.
2. Observe the status of the indicator on the front panel.
3. Connect the terminal to the iMana management network port (connect to the Mgnt port on the left of the VGA port), enter http://192.168.2.100, and press Enter.
4. Log in with the user name root and password Huawei12#$, choose Overview, and view active alarms.
Expected Result
1. The indicator is green.
2. The system is operating properly, and no alarm is generated.

T02-02 Basic iMana Functions
T02-0201 Verifying Firmware Version Detection
Objective
To verify that the firmware versions are correctly detected

Preset Conditions
1. AC power is supplied to the server.

Test Procedures
1. Power on the server system and wait about 10s.
2. Connect the terminal to the iMana management network port (connect to the Mgnt port on the left of the VGA port), enter http://192.168.2.100, and press Enter. Log in with the user name root and password Huawei12#$.
3. Choose System Information > Firmware Version, and view versions of the firmware, such as, CPLD, iMana, BIOS, and FPGA.
4. Choose System Information > Asset Information, and view asset information.
Expected Result
1. The firmware versions are properly displayed.
2. The values of Board Serial Number and Manufacture Date are properly displayed.

T02-0202 Verifying Basic iMana Functions
Objective
To verify basic iMana functions
Test Networking Diagram

Preset Conditions
1. AC power is supplied to the server.
2. The default IP address of the iMana network port is 192.168.2.100/24.
3. The Internet Explorer 8.0, Firefox 9.0, or later is available.
Test Procedures
1. Power on the server system and wait about 5 minutes until the BIOS setup phase is complete.
2. Choose System Information > System Hardware, and view system hardware information.
3. Choose Real-time Monitoring > Component, and view the temperature monitoring information.
4. Choose Real-time Monitoring > Component, and view the power monitoring information.
5. Choose Real-time Monitoring > Component, and view the fan speed monitoring information.
6. Choose Real-time Monitoring > Component, and view the device status monitoring information.
7. Perform other operations and estimate the network delay.
Expected Result
1. The hardware installation status and configurations are the same as actual site information. The hardware includes the CPU, DIMM, hard disk, PSU, fan, hard disk backplane, RAID controller card, NIC, integrated RAID card, and 10 GE NIC.
2. The temperature status of the CPU and the air intake vent is shown as .
3. The power reading is properly displayed, and the status is shown as .
