Installation Instructions
for HP ProLiant BL260c Generation 5 Server Blades
Overview
Use these instructions to install up to two SATA hard drives in the
server blade.

Installing a hard drive
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot
surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system
components to cool before touching them.
To install the component:
1. Power down the server blade.
2. Remove the server blade.
3. Remove the access panel.
4. Disconnect all hard drive cables from the system board,
if installed.
5. Remove the hard drive cage/bezel assembly.

6. Open the hard drive cage.
7. Install the hard drive.
10. Install the four T-15 screws.
8. Connect the cable to the hard drive and close the hard
drive cage.
9. Locate the T-15 screws on the hard drive cage/bezel assembly.
11. Install the hard drive cage/bezel assembly.
12. Route and connect the hard drive data and power cable to the
system board.
13. Install the access panel.
14. Install the server blade.
15. Determine the status of the hard drive from the hard drive
activity LED. For more LED information, see the server user
