RapidRun™ Connector Technology
–Seamless Connectivity, Maximum
Flexibility.
The secret to RapidRun’'D5s flexibility is its cutting-edge
connector technology, which creates a lossless connection
between Runner and Break-Away. A precision-machined
connector shell is cut from solid brass and plated to a
bright nickel finish. Also, to resist the effects of oxidation
and ensure years of reliable operation, the connector
terminals are gold-plated.
Runner cables are terminated with female connectors,
eliminating the risk of fatal damage to a pin. To provide
maximum installation ease, the female connectors include
a protective cap with pullingeye. While able to withstand
a maximum pulling tension of 30lbs., the split ring will
fail long before damage can be done to the delicate
termination points.
CABLING
The overall connector shape also plays an important role
in RapidRun’s ease of installation. The unique geometry
of the female connector allows for it to glide through 3/4''
conduit, while the tapered rear of the connector provides
enough relief to allow the connector to pass through a
90° sweep.*
For effortless connection to the Runner, Break-Away
terminations are finished with a male connector. Just
align the red arrows to guide the connectors together
and tighten the knurled locking ring. Pin configurations
and mechanical keys allow acceptable combinations to
easily mate, while blocking incompatible Break-Away
combinations that could adversely affect signal
transmission.

Break Away From Rigid Connection
Choices with Adaptable, Efficient
Break-Away Terminations.
You’ll select from two Break-Away termination options: Decora*-compatible
Break-Away wall plates and Break-Away Flying Leads. Just choose the
right termination for your application – without having to worry about
performance variation or installation barriers. In fact, you can even mix
flying leads with wall plates. For example, opt for flying leads when cables
terminate directly to the back of an A/V component rack, and use a wall
plate when it will be visible next to a projector.
You have a choice of more than 20 signal configurations with RapidRun
Break-Aways. Combined with your choice of wall plate colors and flying
lead lengths, RapidRun offers more than 100 configuration options! For
easy disguise on a theater ceiling, Break-Away wall plates are available in
traditional white, ivory and black. Plus, Break-Away flying leads are available
with 24-karat gold-plated connectors in lengths of 1.5ft, 3ft, 6ft and 10ft.
Combined with our unique DIN wall plates, they truly do provide the ultimate
flexibility and utility.
CABLING
Most importantly, the versatility of RapidRun is unsurpassed because it
can grow as your system grows. Imagine this: you build your dream home
theater system with a new 50'' plasma screen and transfer your 27" TV to
the bedroom. You can simply run an HT Runner cable terminated with SVideo and stereo audio to play DVDs or PVR programs from the living room
on the TV in your bedroom. Then when you’re ready to upgrade your 27''
bedroom TV to a 42" LCD, you can just change the Break-Away terminations.
