Start-up and use

! The first time you use your appliance, heat the empty oven with its door closed at its maximum temperature for at least half and hour. Ensure that the room is well ventilated before switching the oven off and opening the oven door. The appliance may produce a slightly unpleasant odour caused by the burning away of protective substances used during the manufacturing process.

Setting the clock and timer

The time can only be set on the clock when the SELECTOR knob is set to position “0”.

After the appliance has been connected to the power supply, or after a blackout, the clock display will automatically reset to 0:00 and begin to blink.

To set the time:

1.turn the THERMOSTAT knob;

2.press button to confirm:

Repeat to set the minutes. To make any changes, press button and repeat the steps described above.

The timer operates in minutes: when the selected time has elapsed, a buzzer will sound. After one minute the buzzer will automatically stop or when any button is pressed.

To set the timer, press button

and repeat the steps

described to set the clock. The

icon will remind

you the timer is on.

! The timer does not turn the oven on or off.

Starting the oven

1.Select the desired cooking mode by turning the SELECTOR knob.

2.The oven will start the pre-heating phase, during

which the icon will flash on the display, and the cooking temperature associated with the mode selected appears.

The temperature may be changed by turning the THERMOSTAT knob.

3.When preheating is finished, a buzzer sounds and

the icon appears on the display: place the food in the oven.

4.You may do the following during cooking:

-change the cooking mode by turning the SELECTOR knob.

-change the temperature by turning the THERMOSTAT knob.

- set the cooking time as well as the end cooking time

(see Cooking Modes); GB - stop cooking by turning the SELECTOR knob to the

“0” position.

5.The oven switches off automatically after two hours: this default time is set for all cooking modes for safety reasons.

The cooking time may be changed (see Cooking Modes).

6.In case of a blackout, if the oven was already operating, an automatic system within the appliance will reactivate the cooking mode from where it was interrupted as long as the temperature did not drop below a certain level. Programmed cooking modes which have not started will not be restored and must be reprogrammed.

!There is no preheating in the FAST COOKING and BARBECUE modes.

!Never put objects directly on the oven bottom to avoid damaging the enamel coating.

!Always place cookware on the rack(s) provided.

Cooling ventilation

In order to cool down the external temperature of the oven, a cooling fan blows air between the control panel and the oven door. In the FAST COOKING mode, the fan goes on automatically after ten minutes. In the BAKING mode, the cooling fan goes on only when the oven is hot. At the beginning of the FAST CLEAN mode, the cooling fan operates at low speed.

! Once the cooking has been completed, the cooling fan remains on until the oven has cooled down sufficiently.

Oven light

When the oven is off, the lamp can be turned on at any time by pressing the button or by opening the oven door.

5

Cooking modes

Cooking modes

GB

! All cooking modes have a default cooking temperature which may be adjusted manually between 40°C and 250°C as desired.

In the BARBECUE mode, the default power level value is indicated as a percentage (%) and may also be adjusted manually.

TRADITIONAL OVEN mode

Both the top and bottom heating elements will come on. With this traditional cooking mode, it is best to use one cooking rack only: if more than one rack is used, the heat distribution will be uneven.

MULTI-COOKING mode

All the heating elements (top, bottom and circular), as well as the fan, will come on. Since the heat remains constant throughout the oven, the air cooks and browns food uniformly. A maximum of two racks may be used at the same time.

BARBECUE mode

The top heating element and the rotisserie (where present) come on. By turning the THERMOSTAT knob, the different power levels that may be set will appear on the display; these range between 50% and 100%. The high and direct temperature of the grill is recommended for food that requires high surface temperature. Always cook in this mode with the oven door closed.

GRATIN mode

The top heating element as well as the fan and the rotisserie (where present) come on. This combination of features increases the effectiveness of the unidirectional thermal radiation of the heating elements through forced circulation of the air throughout the oven.

This helps prevent food from burning on the surface, allowing the heat to penetrate right into the food. Always cook in this mode with the oven door closed.

PIZZA mode

The heating elements (bottom and circular) and the fan come on. This combination heats the oven rapidly by producing a considerable amount of heat, particularly from the bottom element. If you use more than one rack simultaneously, switch the position of the dishes halfway through the cooking process.

BAKING mode

The rear heating element and the fan come on, guaranteeing the distribution of heat delicately and uniformly throughout the oven. This mode is ideal for baking and cooking temperature sensitive foods such as cakes that need to rise and to prepare certain tartlets on 3 shelves simultaneously.

FAST COOKING mode

The heating elements and the fan come on, guaranteeing the distribution of heat consistently and uniformly throughout the oven.

Pre-heating is not necessary for this cooking mode. This mode is especially recommended for cooking pre-packed food quickly (frozen or pre-cooked). The best results are obtained if you use one cooking rack only.

LEAVENING mode

The oven reaches and maintains a temperature of 40°C irrespective of the position of the THERMOSTAT knob. This mode is ideal for leavening dough made with yeast.

FAST CLEAN mode

This mode cleans the oven automatically and thoroughly by pyrolysis (see Maintenance and care).

The Rotisserie (only available on certain models)

To operate the rotisserie (see diagram) proceed as follows:

1.Place the dripping pan in position 1.

2.Place the rotisserie support in position 3 and insert the spit in the hole provided on the back panel of the oven.

3.Start the rotisserie using the knob to select MODE

or .

! When

mode is on, the rotisserie will stop if the

door is opened.

6

Programming your cooking

! Select a cooking mode before programming.

Programming Time

Press the button, then:

1.Adjust by turning the THERMOSTAT knob.

2.Press button to store the setting.

3.When the selected time has elapsed, END appears on the display and a buzzer sounds.

4.The buzzer can be stopped by pressing any button. The END message disappears when the THERMOSTAT knob returns to position “0”.

• For example: it is 9:00 a.m. and a time of 1 hour and 15 minutes is programmed. The programme stops automatically at 10:15 a.m.

Programming End

Press button

and repeat steps 1 to 4 as

described in the Programming Time procedure.

For example: it is 9:00 a.m. and an end time of 10:15 a.m. is programmed. The duration is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Programming Delayed Cooking

1.Press button and repeat steps 1 to 4 as described in the Programming Time procedure.

2.Then press button and set the end time.

For example: it is 9:00 a.m. and a time of 1 hour and 15 minutes is programmed and the end time is set to 12:30. The programme starts automatically at 11:15 a.m.

The icon

shows that programming has been set.

To cancel programming, turn the SELECTOR knob to position “0”.

Practical cooking advice

GB

!Do not place racks in position 1 and 5 during fanassisted cooking. Excessive direct heat can burn temperature sensitive foods.

!In the BARBECUE and GRATIN cooking modes, particularly when using the rotisserie, place the dripping pan in position 1 to collect cooking residues (fat and/or grease).

MULTI-COOKING

Use position 2 and 4, placing the food that requires more heat on 2.

Place the dripping pan on the bottom and the rack on top.

BARBECUE

Insert the rack in position 3 or 4. Place the food in the centre of the rack.

We recommend that you set the maximum power level. The top heating element is regulated by a thermostat and may not always be on.

PIZZA MODE

Use a light aluminium pizza pan. Place it on the rack provided.

For a crispy crust, do not use the dripping pan (prevents crust from forming by extending cooking time).

If the pizza has a lot of toppings, we recommend adding the mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza halfway through the cooking process.

Precautions and tips

! The appliance was designed and manufactured in compliance with international safety standards. The following warnings are provided for safety reasons and must be read carefully.

General safety

The appliance was designed for domestic use inside the home and is not intended for commercial or industrial use.

The appliance must not be installed outdoors, even in covered areas. It is extremely dangerous to leave the appliance exposed to rain and storms.

When handling the appliance, always use the handles provided on the sides of the oven.

Do not touch the appliance with bare feet or with wet or moist hands and feet.

The appliance must be used to cook food by adults only and according to the instructions in this manual.

When the appliance is in use, the heating elements and some parts of the oven door become extremely hot. Make sure you don't touch them and keep children well away.

Ensure that the power supply cable of other electrical appliances does not come into contact with the hot parts of the oven.

The openings used for ventilation and dispersion of heat must never be covered.

Always grip the oven door handle in the centre: the ends may be hot.

Always use oven gloves to place cookware in the oven or when removing it.

Do not use aluminium foil to line the bottom of the oven.

Do not place flammable materials in the oven: if the appliance is switched on by mistake, it could catch fire.

Always make sure the knobs are in the “l”/“¡” position when the appliance is not in use.

When unplugging the appliance always pull the plug from the mains socket, do not pull on the cable.

• Never carry out any cleaning or maintenance work

GB

without having unplugged the plug from the mains.

In the case of a malfunction, under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or further malfunctioning of the appliance. Contact a Service Centre (see Assistance).

Do not rest heavy objects on the open oven door.

Disposal

Observe local environmental standards when disposing packaging material for recycling purposes.

The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimise the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance it must be separately collected.

Consumers may take their old appliance to public waste collection areas, other communal collection areas, or if national legislation allows return it to a retailer when purchasing a similar new product.

All major household appliance manufacturers are active in the creation of systems to manage the collection and disposal of old appliances.

Respecting and conserving the environment

By using the appliance in the hours between late afternoon and early morning, you can help reduce the work load placed on electrical companies. The cooking mode programming options, and particularly the “delayed cooking” mode (see Cooking modes), make this possible.

Always keep the oven door closed when using the BARBECUE or GRATIN mode to attain best results and to save energy (approximately 10%).

Regularly check the door seals and wipe clean to ensure they are free of debris so that they stick properly to the door and do not allow heat to disperse.

9

Maintenance and care

Switching the appliance off

GB

Disconnect your appliance from the electricity supply before carrying out any work on it.

Cleaning the appliance

The stainless-steel or enamel-coated external parts as well as the rubber seals may be cleaned using a sponge that has been soaked in lukewarm water and neutral soap. If these stains are difficult to remove, use a specific product. After cleaning, rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive powders or corrosive substances.

Ideally, the inside of the oven should be cleaned after each use, when it is still lukewarm. Use hot water and detergent, rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive products.

The accessories can be washed like everyday crockery (even in your dishwasher).

Cleaning the oven door

Clean the glass door using non-abrasive products and sponges and dry it with a soft cloth.

To clean more thoroughly, you can remove the oven door.

1. Open the oven door fully (see diagram).

2. Lift up and turn the small levers located on the two hinges; (see diagram).

3. Grip the door on the two external sides and close it approximately half way. Pull the door towards you lifting it out of its seat (see diagram). To replace the door, reverse this sequence.

Inspecting the seals

Check the door seals around the oven periodically. If the seals are damaged, please contact your nearest After-sales Service Centre (see Assistance). We recommend not using the oven until the seals have been replaced.

Replacing the light bulb

To replace the oven light bulb:

Oven

compartment

Automatic cleaning with the FAST CLEAN function

With the FAST CLEAN mode, the internal temperature of the oven reaches 500°C. The pyrolysis process is activated and burns away food and grime residues. Keep children away from the appliance during the automatic cleaning cycle as surfaces may become very hot.

Particles may ignite inside the oven due to the spontaneous combustion process. Do not worry, this process is both normal and hazard-free.

Before initiating the FAST CLEAN mode:

Remove large or course food residues from inside of the oven using a damp sponge. Do not use detergents.

Remove all accessories.

Do not place tea towels or pot holders over the oven handle.

!If the oven is too hot, pyrolysis may not start. Wait for the oven to cool down.

!The programme may only be started once the oven door has been closed.

To enable the FAST CLEAN mode, turn the SELECTOR knob to .

Safety devices

The door is locked automatically as soon as the temperature exceeds a certain value.

Should a malfunctoin occur, the heating elements will switch off.

Once the oven door has been locked, you cannot change the cycle time, cycle end and timer settings.

! Programming is possible only after selecting the FAST CLEAN mode.

Programming Time

Press the

button, then:

1.Adjust by turning the THERMOSTAT knob.

2.Press button to store the setting.

3.When the selected time has elapsed, END appears on the display and a buzzer sounds.

4.The buzzer can be stopped by pressing any button. The END message disappears when the THERMOSTAT knob returns to position “0”.

A cycle time of between 60 and 120 minutes may be selected, depending on the degree of grime and food residues in your oven.

• For example: it is 9:00 a.m. and a time of 1 hour and 15 minutes is programmed. The programme stops automatically at 10:15 a.m..

Programming End

Press button

and repeat steps 1 to 4 as

described in the Programming Time procedure.

For example: it is 9:00 a.m and an end time of 10:15 a.m is programmed. The duration is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Programme Delayed Cleaning

1.Press button and repeat steps 1 to 4 as described in the Programming Time procedure.

2.Then press button and set the end time.

For example: it is 9:00 a.m. and a time of 1 hour and 15 minutes is programmed and the end time is set to 12:30. The programme starts automatically at 11:15 a.m.

The icon

shows that programming has been set.

To cancel programming, turn the SELECTOR knob to position “0”.

Once the automatic cleaning cycle is over

You will have to wait until the temperature inside the oven has cooled down sufficiently before you can open the oven door. White powder deposits may remain on the bottom and sides of the oven, remove these deposits with a damp sponge once the oven has cooled down completely. Alternatively, you can make use of the already heated oven, in which case it is not necessary to remove the deposits, they are completely harmless and will not affect your food in any way.

Sådan tændes for ovnen

Sæt maden i ovnen.

4.Under tilberedningen er det altid muligt at:

-ændre programmet ved at dreje på PROGRAMKNAPPEN,

-ændre temperaturen ved hjælp af TERMOSTATKNAPPEN,

-indstille varighed og afslutningstidspunkt for tilberedningen (se afsnittet Programmer);

-afbryde tilberedningen ved at dreje PROGRAMKNAPPEN over på position “0”.

5.Ovnen slukker automatisk efter to timer.

Program BARBECUE

Vedligeholdelse).

Drejeindretning (kun på nogle modeller)

Benyt følgende fremgangsmåde (se figuren) for at starte drejeindretningen:

1.Placér bradepanden i position 1.

2.Placér drejeindretningens holder i position 3, og indsæt spiddet i hullet på drejeindretningen bagest i ovnen.

3.Drejeindretningen startes ved at indstille

PROGRAMKNAPPENo;

! Hvis programmeter tændt og døren åbnes, standser drejeindretningen.
