Before You Begin
This cleaner mu st be operated in accordance with the se instructions and used only for d omestic household clea ning to remove DRY dirt and dust from hous ehold carpets, flooring, walls and f abrics. This cleaner is n ot fit to be used as an industrial clean er hence will void the manufacture r’s warranty if used inappropriately.
Please read these instructions thoroughly
This will ensure you obt ain full benefit from your new clea ner. Keep this Instructio n Manual in a handy place for future referenc e.
Important
Always switch the cleane r off and remove the plug from the elec tricity supply before clean ing your appliance, when n ot in use, or attempting any maintenance task. T he cleaner must only be conn ected to an AC supply at the voltage sh own on the rating plate. This cleaner shou ld only be used for its intended purpose as desc ribed in these instructions.
Precautionary measures:
When using your vacuum cleaner, basic precautions should always be observed, including the following;
1. T his appliance is not intende d for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning u se of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
2. Ch ildren should be super vised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
3. To prevent ele ctrical shock, do not immerse the appliance, bat tery, power cord or power plug into water or other liqu ids.
4. To prevent ele ctrical shock, do not use the vacuum cleaner outdoors or on wet surfaces.
5. A lways check the power cord before us e, the power cord and the plu g should be in a good condition and must not be damaged. If th e power supply cord i s damaged or defective, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a haza rd.
6. T he appliance is intended for d omestic indoors use only.
7. Do not unplu g by pulling on the power cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the powe r cord.
Use only Australi an and New Zealand electr ical safety approved ex tension cords.
8. Do not pull o r carry the applianc e by the power cable, use the power c able as a handle or pull the power cabl e around sharp edges or corners. Avoid running the appliance over the power cable.
9. Do not handle or operate the appliance with wet hands and fol low electrical safety precautions at a ll times.
10. Ex treme caution should be exerci sed when using the appliance on stairs.
11. D o not attempt to change the attac hments while the appliance is switched on. Use only manufacturer’s recommended accessories.
12. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters, radi ators and other hot surfaces.
13. Do not use the appliance to pick up flammable items or combustible liquids (i.e. gasoline, hot ashes cigarettes, matches, explosive materials or anything bu rning) or use in areas where such substanc es and items may be present.
14. Do not use the appli ance to pick up toxic materials (i.e. chlorine bleach, ammonia).
15. Ensure the applia nce is switched off before connecting the hose to the unit.
Safety Precautions & Warnings
IMPORTANT! Always remove the battery from the appliance before cleaning your appliance, when not in use or attempting any maintenance task. The charger/charging base must only be connected to an AC power supply at the voltage shown on the rating label. This cleaner should only be used for its intended purpose as described in this instruction manual. Never operate the vacuum cleaner without filters.
Read the manual attentively before using the appliance for the first time.
1. D o not operate the vacuum cleaner too clo se to heaters, radiators, and other hot surfaces.
2. Before inser ting the plug into the wall, make sure your hand is dr y.
3. Before turning on the vacuum c leaner, remove any large or sharp objects from th e floor or cleaning s urface in order to prevent damage to the filter.
4. When you want to pull th e plug from the wall, do not use the power cable, ge ntly pull the plug from the power s ocket.
5. If the hose inle t, combination floor tool or telescopic tub e are blocked, you should switch off the clean er straight away and remove from mains power. First clear th e blocked substanc e before attempting to start the vacuum cle aner again.

16. Never operate or use the appliance without the dust bag and/or filters i n place.
17. Before vacuuming, re move any large or sharp objects from the floor or cleaning surface in order to prevent damage to the filter.
18. If the air in let, floor head or the telescopi c tube is blocked, switch of f the cleaner straight away. First, clear the blocked object before attempting to start the vacuum cleaner again.
19. Do not leave the appliance unattended when the battery is installed.
20. Before ca rrying out any maintena nce service or cleaning the filters, always switch off the vacuum cleaner and re move the battery from the appliance.
21. Keep end s of the hose, telescopic tube and oth er openings away from you r face and body.
22. Do not use the vacuum cleaner if it is damaged or broken. Check the electrical regularly for defects. If connection cables, electrical hoses, electrical contacts and electric tubes are damaged, have them replaced immediately.
23. Never clean the vacuum cleaner or any of the electrical parts, especially the electrical connections with water or liquid cleaners.
24. Never attempt to make any modifi cations electrically to the vacuum cleaner.
25. Always store the a ppliance, charger and th e battery indo ors in a cool and dry plac e.
26. Do n ot pick up water, for dry household use only
27. Use the electric p ower head only for vacuuming dust and dry su bstances in the home.
28. N ever run over the power cable with the power head as the cable c ould get damaged.
29. Never touch the roller brush while the vacuum cleaner is connected to the mains power.
30. To prevent unneces sary wear on the power head cleanin g nozzle, keep it moving while in operation.
31. Damage c aused by improper use or by not observing the instructions in this manual will void warranty.
Battery use and care
1. Use the appliance only with specifically designated bat tery packs. Use of any other battery pack m ay create a risk of injury and fire.
2. T he appliance is only to be use d with the power supply uniquely provided with the appliance.
3. O nly charge the battery in side the product and only use the specifically designated charging base to charge the prod uct.
4. W hen battery pack is not in us e, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other s mall metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fi re.
5. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentall y occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejecte d from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
6. Do not charge or store the cleaner outdoors or inside the car. Only char ge or store the battery in a dry indoor a rea where the temperature is mor e than 5
o
C but less than 45oC.
7. Never atte mpt to open the battery for any reason. If the plasti c housing of the battery breaks or cracks, im mediately discontinue us e and do not recharge.
8. L ive part inside the charg ing base. The charging base and batter y is not a serviceabl e part.
9. Be fore disposal of your batter y, fully discharge your battery by ru nning the product until it stops.
10. Do not dispose battery w ith your local garbage. Contact your local council for the instruction of disposal of the bat tery.
11. Do no t use the charging base to charge a n on- chargeable battery.
WARNING! Always remove the plug from the power socket before fitting or removing accessories.
Assembly
1. During co nnection, please place the powerh ead on the floor in the direction as show n.
2. Verticall y insert the rod into the connector of the power head and push the rod down hard until you hear a ‘click’ sound.
3. To disassemble, hold the re lease button and draw out the powerh ead.

Installation of battery pack
1. To install the battery pa ck, close the battery pack cover by rotating clockwis e. Ensure the lock symbol is aligned wi th the arrow on the machine.
2. To disassemble the bat tery pack, rotate the battery pack cover anti-clock wise. Ensure the unlock symbol is ali gned with the arrow on the machine.
3. Lift th e outer cover and remove the battery pack.

Instructions for Use
1. Please prom ptly charge the vacuum cleaner wh en it is in power shortage.
2. When the volt age falls below the required level, the vacuu m cleaner will automatically inte rrupt the power supply in order to protect the battery. You must then promptly charge it.
3. The charg ing light indicator will appear ‘red’ whe n the vacuum cleaner is bein g charged.
NOTE:
1. During the first three applications of use, twelve hours of continuous charging shall be ensured every time. After complete charging and discharging, the vacuum cleaner can be charged for use in normal charging mode of about 8 hours.
2. When the charging indicator light flashes in red/green alternately with frequency of 2 times per second, please send it to the service centre for repair.
3. This vacuum cleaner comes with the function of halt in charging. When the vacuum cleaner is being charged and the charging indicator light is red, the vacuum cleaner cannot be enabled even though the switch button is pressed down.
4. Remove the battery from cleaner if the cleaner is not going to be used for a long time.
Assembly of dust container
IMPORTANT: When installing the dust container, ensure the filter is properly installed.
Connection of handle body component and main body component
1. Install the du st container by positioning on top of the battery pack. I nstallation is complete when you hea r a ‘click’ sound.
2. To remove the dust canister, press the dust canister release button, situated on the canister handle.
1. Inser t the metal tube into the main body, and press the handle to secure it. You will hear a ‘click’ sound once it is installed properly.
2. Attach the hos e connector into the hose inlet. Rotate anti-clock wise until a ‘click’ sound is heard.
Charging of vacuum cleaner
CAUTION! Before charging, make sure that the vacuum cleaner is mounted with a battery pack with normal charging and discharging performance.
4. When the ch arging indicator light turns from “red” to “gree n”, the vacuum cleane r battery is fully charged.
IMPORTANT! Remove the battery from the vacuum cleaner before performing any maintenance duties.

Application of accessory
1. To use the dusting brush, hold th e tab and slide it upwards until it clicks into pla ce.
2. To use as a crevice tool, hold the tab a nd slide it downwards until it clicks into pl ace.
Metal pipe vacuuming
Press down the releas e button of handle body, and take out the handle body (or mount the two-in-one accessory on the handle body). Rotate the change-over bu tton to point the indication mark to the handle vacuum mar k, and then the switch button can be pres sed down for vacuuming.
Handle body vacuuming
Press down the handle b utton to take out the handle body, attach it with the two -in-one accessory, and then pres s down the switch button for vacuum ing.
Powerhead vacuuming
Incline the floor bru sh and rotate the change-over button to plac e the indication mark on th e button pointing to the floor brush ma rk, and then press down the swi tch button for vacuuming.
Ideal for daily cle aning on carpets and hard floor.
NOTE:
1. Powerhead light will be off and will not operate when it is placed upright.
2. Powerhead light will turn white and will only operate when it is inclined.

Cleaning of canister and filters
1. To remove the dust canister, press the dust ca nister release button, situated on the canister handle.
2. With one han d holding the dust canister, use your other to push the dust release b utton of the bottom cover to empty the dust can ister.
3. Pull out the fro nt end of handle on the upper cover of dust cup to open the uppe r cover.
6. Rotate the dust cup cl ockwise to take it out for cleaning.
5. Filter shoul d be dried in a ventilated place before use.
4. Take the filter out for cleaning o r replacement.
7. After the fil ter is dried (replaced if necess ary), assemble it in the reverse order of dis assembly.

Cleaning of powerhead
1. Use the flathead s crewdriver or a coin to rotate the rolling brush cover lock.
2. Remove the bru sh cover in the direction as shown to take the rolling brush ou t from the notch for cleaning (do not wash with water).
3. After cle aning or replacement, assemb le it in the reverse order of disassembly.
IMPORTANT! Remove the batte ry from the vacuum cleaner before performing any maintenance duties.

Conditions of warranty
Your Hoover cleaner, in the case of domestic use, has a one year parts and labour warranty against product defects and failures when the product is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of this warranty statement.
This warranty commences from the original date of purchase and is not transferable; please retain your original proof of purchase for any warranty claims. This warranty is valid only in the country where the cleaner is purchased.
The cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions and used only for domestic household cleaning to remove DRY dirt and dust from household carpets, flooring and fabrics. This cleaner is not fit to be used as an industrial cleaner, and is not designed for the collection of vitreous building material including particle board, construction products and similar products such as wood/fibres, cement, fillers, fibre glass etc or excessive or frequent sand. The infrequent pick-up of these materials in these circumstances may be harmful to your cleaner and may void the manufacturer’s warranty.
Accessories and consumables including dust bags and filters, unless defective in manufacture, are not subject to this warranty. In order to prolong the life of accessories and consumables, regular care and maintenance is recommended.
When properly used and cared for, your cleaner will render excellent service; refer to the instruction manual for further details, as misuse or failure to follow the instructions makes this warranty void.
In the event of service or advice being needed, please contact Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd, Level 1, Building 2 Brandon Business Park, 530 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley Victoria 3150, or on 1300 360 845, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST. The decision to repair or replace the cleaner is at the sole discretion of Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd. If Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd decide to repair or replace the cleaner, it will do so at its own cost.
Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd is unable to accept responsibility under this warranty for any repair work not carried out by an authorised Hoover Service Agent or from the use of non-genuine parts. If any part is no longer available or manufactured, Electrical Home-Aids Pty Ltd will replace it with a genuine functional replacement part. This warranty does not apply to the cost of replacing any parts of the product due to normal wear and tear, alterations, improper installation, physical abuse, misuse or accidental damage. Any transportation costs involved in the repair of defective parts shall be borne by the claimant.
If proof of purchase cannot be provided at the time of a warranty claim or service, any work carried out on the cleaner is chargeable.
The repair or replacement of the cleaner under this warranty does not extend the original period of warranty.
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all other rights and remedies in respect of the product as outlined under the Competition and Consumer Act and other State and Territory laws.
“Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded in the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.”
