Before you Begin
Before you begin
This cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions and used only for domestic household cleaning to remove DRY dirt and dust from household carpets, flooring, walls and fabrics. This cleaner is not fit to be used as an industrial cleaner hence will void the manufacturer’s warranty if used inappropriately.
Please read these instructions thoroughly
This will ensure you obtain full benefit from your new cleaner. Keep this Instruction Manual in a handy place for future reference.
Important
Always switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply before cleaning your appliance, when not in use, or attempting any maintenance task. The cleaner must only be connected to an AC supply at the voltage shown on the rating plate. This cleaner should only be used for its intended purpose as described in these instructions.

Warning
Warning: the power and heat of the steam may have adverse consequences for certain materials.
Always check, before putting the device into operation, whether a surface or material is actually suitable for treatment with steam. Do this by executing a test on a hidden surface of the material you wish to treat.
1. The force and heat of the steam may damage certain materials. Some fabrics may react to the temperature of the steam. For example: unpainted wood or leather can be bleached by the action of steam; glossy plastic can be dulled by steam; acrylic fibre, velvet and linen react very sensitively to the temperature of steam.
2. Do not hold the steam in the direction of one spot for long periods! This can cause damage to materials!
3. Exposure to hot steam can cause scalding!
4. Burns can occur from touching hot parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when draining the appliance after use as there may be hot water in the unit.
5. The filler cap must not be open during use, ensure it if firmly sealed before commencing use.
6. Always open the filler cap slowly when opening the water tank, this will allow any remaining steam to escape gradually.
7. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitting from the steam nozzle, hold the nozzle away from the body and check for signs of condensation or leakage.
8. Nozzle and attachments become hot during use. To avoid injuries, do not touch nozzle while using this appliance. Do not attempt to change attachments while unit is emitting steam.
9. The hose may become hot during use. Use caution when handling to avoid burns or other injury.
10. Never directly steam towards people, animals or plants.
11. Never attempt to steam clean clothes which are still being worn.

12. Do not handle or operate the steamer with wet hands and follow electrical safety precautions at all times, i.e., never operate without shoes.
13. Ensure that the cleaner does not operate on an empty tank.
14. Do not fill the steam water tank with more than 1,5 litres of water. Overfilling may result in a possible electrical shock.
15. Only water should be used in this unit. Other cleaning agents will damage the unit and can cause injuries.
16. Do not add cleaning solutions, scented perfumes, oils or any other chemicals to the water used in this appliance, as this may damage the unit or make it unsafe for use.
17. Use tap water or distilled/purified water if the tap water in your area is very hard.
18. Do not apply steam directly to very cold glass surfaces.
19. The steam should not be aimed directly at parts containing electrical components such as the electrical components inside an oven.
20. Damage caused by improper use of steam on objects, materials, persons and/or animals or by not observing the instructions in this manual will void the warranty.

Always switch the appliance off efore you attach or remove the hose and/or accessories, and make sure the attachments and inserts are cooled down completely before connecting or disconnecting.
Connecting the hose
1. Pull the hose inlet flap down at the front of the cleaner.
2. Line up the locating keyway on the plug with the socket.
3. Push the hose connector firmly and fully into the cleaner socket.
Assembling the extension tubes
1. Connect the extension tubes to the user handle. Push the extension tubes onto the handle connection nozzle or to the previous extension tube as far as they will go until a click is heard.
2. Repeat step 1 for the next extension tube, connecting it to the end of the first extension tube and the same for the third extension tube if required.

Connecting the steam mop head
The steam mop head is used for cleaning large, washable walls and floor areas. The steam mop head can be used with or without the mop pad. Sensitive surfaces should be used with the mop pad attached.
1. Fit the elbow attachment to the steam mop head and twist half a turn.
2. Fit the steam mop head to the handle or to the extension tube.
3. To fit the mop pad to the steam mop head, pull the mop pad under the clips on both sides.
4. The cleaning power of the mop pad can be optimized by turning and changing the mop pad regularly.

Connecting the accessories to the user handle or extension tube
1. Select the desired accessory, most of the accessories are stored in the accessories storage compartment in the front part of the cleaner.
2. Attach the required accessory. Before attaching the accessory, the jet nozzle must be attached to the handle or to the extension tube. Slide the jet nozzle into the accessory head until it locks in place.
3. Push the jet nozzle directly onto the handle connection nozzle or onto the extension tube as far as they will go until a click can be heard. The jet nozzle can be used with various fittings.

4. Fit the brush attachments (large and small) onto the jet nozzle by pushing on and turning in a clockwise direction to lock into place.
5. Fit the window squeegee to the jet nozzle by pushing on and turning clockwise to lock into place. This nozzle can be used with or without the steam pad.

1. Plug the power cable into the mains power.
2. Turn the cleaner on by pressing the on/ off button to on setting. The red power indicator light will illuminate. It will take approximately 10 minutes to reach the correct temperature.
3. When the correct temperature has been reached, the green thermostat indicator light will illuminate. The cleaner is now ready for use. The green thermostat indicator light will cycle on and off during operation to show that the cleaner is maintaining the correct temperature.
4. Ensure the trigger lock button is off. Push the lock from the left side to lock the trigger and push from the right to release the lock.
5. Press the steam trigger and steam will be emitted from the nozzle.
Note: Initial emissions of steam can contain water condensation droplets, it is recommended that the first few seconds of steam be directed onto an old cloth.

6. Keep the steam trigger pressed and direct the steam at the surface to be cleaned. Move the cleaner backwards and forwards over the area, do not hold the steam jet towards one area for too prolonged periods.
7. To stop the steam jet, release the steam trigger and wait until the cleaner has stopped emitting steam completely.
8. The steam adjustment control varies the steam output.

Filling the boiler with water
1. Place the cleaner on a flat level surface.
2. Make sure the cleaner is switched off and disconnected from the mains power supply.
3. Unscrew the filler cap by pressing down and turning in an anti-clockwise direction
4. Fill the boiler with a maximum of 1.5 litres of water by using the measuring jug and funnel provided. Warm water may be used which will reduce the heat-up time. Do not use any detergent.
5. Refit the filler cap and fully tighten by pressing down and turning in a clockwise direction.

Removing the filler ap
1. Pull the power cable from the mains power supply gently using the plug.
2. Keep the steam trigger pressed to allow steam to escape.
3. Allow the cleaner to cool down for 5 minutes.
4. Slowly turn the filler cap to loosen, and wait a few seconds before fully unscrewing the filler cap.
Refilling the oiler
1. Place the cleaner on a flat level surface.
2. Make sure the cleaner is switched off and not connected to the mains power supply.
3. Press the steam trigger to allow steam to escape.
4. Allow the cleaner to cool down for several minutes.
5. Fill the boiler as described previously. Warm water can be used.

This appliance is equipped with a parking position on the side. To open the tool storage cover, pull the latch of the cover towards you and lift to remove the cover.
Press downward with two tongue in front goes into place firstly and lock into place, a click can be heard. There is a cord storage facility on the backside of the cleaner. Lay down the cable storage rack by pulling
it downward and wrap the cable around the rack. Make sure the cord storage rack is returned into original position before using the device.
Warning: ensure the appliance is cooled down completely before emptying, cleaning or storing.
After use
1. Switch the cleaner off and unplug from the mains power supply. Wait until the cleaner has cooled down completely.
2. Release any steam pressure by pressing the steam trigger on the handle.
3. Apply the trigger lock.
4. Remove the filler cap.
5. Empty the boiler. Allow the inside of the boiler to dry out before replacing the filler cap.

Cleaning the unit
If necessary, the unit can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
1. Place the cleaner on a flat level surface.
2. Make sure the cleaner is switched off and not connected to the mains power supply.
3. Clean the outside of the unit with a damp cloth.
Rinsing the boiler
To clean the boiler, fill it with clean water and shake carefully. This will release any limescale deposits that have collected on the bottom of the tank. Pour the water out.
Descaling
In order to prolong the life of the cleaner, the boiler should be descaled at least every 6 months.
1. Switch the cleaner off and disconnect from the mains power supply. Wait until the cleaner has cooled down completely.
2. Empty the boiler.
3. Use a commercially-available descaler as stated in the package specification. Mix the descaler in the measuring jug.
4. Do not fill the boiler with more than 1 litre of the descaler solution.
5. Fit the cap and tighten fully.
6. Shake the cleaner gently and carefully.
7. Leave for 30 minutes.
8. Empty the solution carefully.
9. Rinse the boiler with clean warm water, then empty. Due to the fact that a small amount of solution will be left in the boiler, it is necessary to rinse the boiler out with clean water several times.
Warning: Do not use the steam cleaner while descaling solution is inside the boiler.

Storage
Preparing the cleaner for storage is quick and simple.
1. Make sure the cleaner is switched off and disconnected from the mains power supply.
2. Allow to cool down for at least 30 minutes.
3. Remove all attachments from the cleaner.
4. Clean all the accessories with running water. Let the brush dry naturally before storing, to avoid distortion.
5. Empty the boiler.
6. Store the cleaner in a cool, dry location.
DISPOSAL OF YOUR OLD APPLIANCE
1. All electrical and electronic products should be disposed of separately from the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the government or the local authorities.
2. The correct disposal of your old appliance will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health.
3. For more detailed information about disposal of your appliance, please contact your city office, waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

Your Hoover cleaner, in the case of domestic use, has a two year parts and labour w arranty against pr oduct defects and failures when the product is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of this warranty statement.
This warranty commences from the or iginal date of purchase and is not transferable; please retain your original proof of purchase for any warranty claims. This warranty is valid only in the country where the cleaner is purchased.

Conditions of warranty
Hoover Floorcare is unable t o accept responsibility under this warranty for any repair work not car ried out b y an author ised Hoover Service Agent or from the use of non-genuine parts. If any part is no longer a vailable or manufac tured, Hoover Floorcare will replace it with a genuine functional replacement part. This warranty does not apply t o the cost of replacing any parts of the product due to normal wear and tear, alterations, improper installation, physical abuse, misuse or ac cidental damage. Any transportation costs involved in the repair of defective parts shall be borne by the claimant.
If proof of purchase cannot be provided at the time of a warranty claim or service, any work carried out on the cleaner is chargeable.
The repair or r eplacement of the cleaner under this warranty does not ex tend the or iginal period of warranty.
The benefits onferred by this w arranty are in addition t o all other r ights and r emedies in respect of the product as outlined under the Competition and C onsumer Act and other Sta te and Territory laws.
“Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded in the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and f or compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage .
