Application
The Alwa-R is used as backflow preventer in potable water installations. The backflow preventer with an opening pressure of ≤ 10
mbar stops water from flowing back through the valve.
The valve insert with integrated backflow preventer is available as
spare part and fits into all valve housings with dimensions according to DVGW.
Alwa-R valves are available with various pipe connections.
Alwa-K-R valves are equipped with larger external threads
specially suitable for pipe connections of various plastic pipes.
Alwa-valves are low noise to DVGW and noise protection regulations.
Valves with draining facility allow draining of the system over the
valve.
Alwa-R backflow preventer are DVGW-certified under certification-no. NW-6130AS2113.

Construction
The Alwa-R consists of:
• Y-pattern valve housing with test cock. Available pipe
connections see Dimensions and Ordering Information
• Valve insert with backflow preventer
• Pipe connection (accessory)
• Draining facility (optional)
Materials
• Red bronze housing
•Valve insert made of red bronze and brass
• Cone made of plastic
• Spring made of stainless steel
• Soft seals made of EPDM
• EPDM seat sealing
• Optional draining facility made of red bronze, brass and
plastic (VA3401A).

• All parts with contact to the flow made of corrosionresistant
materials
• Opening pressure ≤ 10 mbar (up to DN 50)
• Cavity-free valve insert
• EPDM seat sealing
• Valve housing PN16 with test cock
