This User Data Sheet is an addendum to the Retractable Lifeline User Manual (EN 360). Please refer to the manual

Materials used:

Retractable lanyard: polyamide
Absorber: internal strap: polyester, and external
strap: polyamide

Cleaning of PPE and strap:

It is advisable to clean the PPE regularly and more
specically the strap, using soapy water. Any other
cleaning method should be avoided.

Drying method: allow to dry naturally and well away
from any direct re or any source of heat, any parts that
have absorbed moisture either during use or during
cleaning.

Product life duration:

The maximal life of PPE that is predominantly textile
is evaluated as being 10 years after the date of manu­facture

supplied with the PPE to obtain all the recommendations.

Transport & storage:

The PPE should be suspended for transport or storage,
and kept in a suitably ventilated place away for damp
and UVs.

Rescue:

Bear in mind before and during use that it is essential
to visualize the way any rescue assignments can be
carried out eciently and safely.

This PPE has been put through testing as per

standard EN 360:2002 RETRACTABLE LIFELINE

On the back of the PPE is its description, the standard to which it conforms, a pictogram ‘i’ indicating that the
user should refer to the User Manual, the CE followed by the number of the notied organization in charge of
annual inspection - AFAQ, the recommended use, the serial number and the date of manufacture.

Normal condition of use:

Vertical application, with the self-retracting lifeline mounted above the worker’s head.

Specic condition of use (Miller Falcon horizontal):

The Miller Falcon (MP) series of self-retracting lifelines are approved for use in horizontal applications. Horizontal
use application requires the use of a steel anchorage sling, part number 1002897, (6.4mm dia. x 1 meter long)
attached between the lifeline snap hook and the user’s harness attachment point.

Warning:

Not using the steel anchorage sling in a horizontal use application could result in lifeline cable shear due
to the 90 degree bend of the lifeline over a sharp edge.

The following should be considered during Miller Falcon horizontal use:

• The maximum arrest distance recorded in testing is 2.25m.

• There could be in increased swing fall potential.

• The locking speed of the SRL may vary in the event of a fall, due to friction between the lifeline and the platform
edge.

• The SRL may lock up quicker than the workers walking pace and thus cause a fall by jerking the worker o
balance.

• Lifeline abrasion on work platforms and/or surfaces.

Warning:

Do not mount self-retracting lifelines below foot level.

Inclined use:

Miller self-retracting lifelines are not approved for inclined use.

Conforme à la norme EN 360:2002 ANTICHUTE A RAPPEL AUTOMATIQUE

Ce feuillet d’utilisation est un avenant à la notice des antichute à rappel automatique (EN 360).

Merci de vous reportez à la notice fournie avec l’EPI pour obtenir la totalité des recommandations.

Matériaux utilisés :

Longe rétractable : polyamide
Absorbeur : sangle interne : polyester, et sangle

externe : polyamide

Nettoyage de l’EPI et de la sangle :

Il est recommandé de nettoyer régulièrement l’EPI et
plus particulièrement la sangle au moyen d’une eau
savonneuse. Toute autre méthode de nettoyage est à
proscrire.

Méthode de séchage : il est nécessaire de laisser
sécher naturellement et à distance de tout feu direct
ou de toute source de chaleur, les éléments ayant pris
l’humidité soit en cours d’utilisation, soit lors de leur
nettoyage.

Durée de vie du produit :

On estime la durée de vie maximale de l’EPI à domi­nante textile à 10 ans à partir de la date de fabrication

Transport & stockage:

L’EPI doit être stocké ou transporté pendu, dans un
endroit ventilé à l’abri de l’humidité et des UV.

Sauvetage :

Notez qu’avant et pendant l’utilisation, il y a lieu d’en­visager la façon dont le sauvetage éventuel pourrait
être assuré de manière ecace et en toute sécurité.

Cet EPI a été soumis à des essais suivant la norme

Vous trouverez au dos de l’EPI sa description, la norme à laquelle il est conforme, un pictogramme ‘i’ signiant
qu’il faut se reporter à la notice d’utilisation, le CE suivi du N° de l’organisme notié chargé du contrôle annuel ­AFAQ, l’utilisation préconisée, le n° se série, ainsi que sa date de fabrication.

Condition normale d’utilisation :

Usage vertical, avec l’antichute à rappel automatique

connecté au dessus de la tête du travailleur.

Condition spécique d’utilisation (Miller Falcon horizontal) :
La gamme d’antichute à rappel automatique de câble Miller Falcon (MP) est homologuée pour des usages à l’ho-

rizontale. Une utilisation horizontale exige l’emploi d’une élingue d’ancrage acier, numéro de référence 1002897,
(6,4 mm dia. x 1 mètre long) , attachée entre le mousqueton automatique de l’antichute à rappel automatique et
le point de xation du harnais de l’utilisateur.

Attention : La non utilisation d’une élingue d’ancrage acier en usage horizontal pourrait engendrer une
coupure du câble de l’enrouleur (celui ci se trouvant à 90°) à cause des bordures tranchantes des struc­tures.

Il convient de tenir compte de ce qui suit pour un usage horizontal de Miller Falcon :

• La distance d’arrêt maximum enregistrée en test est de 2,25 m.

• Il peut y avoir un potentiel d’oscillation et de chute accru.

• La vitesse de blocage du SRL peut varier en cas de chute, en raison de la friction entre la ligne de sécurité et le
bord de la plate-forme.

• Le SRL peut bloquer plus vite que n’avance le travailleur et provoquer ainsi une chute en faisant perdre par une
secousse son équilibre au travailleur.

• Abrasion de la ligne de sécurité sur les plates-formes et/ou surfaces de travail.

Attention: Ne pas positionner l’enrouleur en dessous du niveau des pieds de l’utilisateur.

Usage en position inclinée :

Les antichutes à rappel automatique de câble Miller ne sont pas homologués pour un usage en position

inclinée.

Benutztes Material :

Reinigung der PSA und des Gurtbandes :

Wie empfehlen, die PSA und besonders das Gurtband
regelmässig mit Seifenwasser zu reinigen. Von jeder
anderen Art der Reinigung wird abgeraten.

Trocknen : alle Teile, die bei der Benutzung oder bei
der Reinigung nass geworden sind, müssen fern von
jeder direkten Flamme oder Hitzequelle auf natürli­chem Wege von selbst trocknen.

Lebensdauer des Produktes :

Die maximale Lebensdauer von PSA mit textilem
Hauptanteil wird auf 10 Jahre ab dem Fertigungsda­tum geschätzt

Transport & Lagerung :

Die PSA muss an einer belüfteten, vor Feuchtigkeit
und UV-Strahlen geschützten Stelle hängend gelagert
und transportiert werden.

Rettung :

Beachten Sie, dass vor und während der Benutzung
überlegt werden muss, auf welche Art eine eventuelle
Rettung wirksam und sicher erfolgen kann.

Diese PSA ist den Prüfungen gem.

Normale Einsatzbedingungen :

Senkrechte Verwendung, wobei das Höhensicherungsgerät über dem Kopf der Arbeitskraft verbunden ist.

Spezische Einsatzbedingungen (Miller Falcon horizontal) :

Die Produktserie der Drahtseil-Höhensicherungsgeräte von Miller Falcon (MP) ist für den horizontalen Einsatz
zugelassen. Für eine horizontale Benutzung ist eine Stahlankerschlinge, Best.-Nr. 1002897 (6,4 mm Ø, Länge 1
m) nötig, die zwischen dem Karabiner des Höhensicherungsgerätes und dem Befestigungspunkt am Sicherheits­gurt des Benutzers eingefügt wird.

Achtung :

Wird bei einem horizontalen Einsatz keine Stahlankerschlinge benutzt, besteht an Biegungen von 90° bei
scharfen Kanten die Gefahr einer Scherbeanspruchung auf das Drahtseil der Anschlagleine.

Bei einem horizontalen Einsatz des Miller Falcon sind folgende Hinweise zu beachten :

• Die unter Versuchsbedingungen registrierte maximale Auangstrecke beträgt 2,25 m.

• Es besteht eine größere Pendel- und Sturzgefahr.

• Aufgrund der Reibung zwischen Auangleine und Arbeitsbühnenkante kann im Sturzfall die Auanggeschwin­digkeit des Höhensicherungsgerätes schwanken.

• Das Höhensicherungsgerät kann sich bei rascher Fortbewegung der Arbeitskraft blockieren, sie durch den Ruck
aus dem Gleichgewicht bringen und einen Sturz verursachen.

• Die Anschlagleine kann sich durch Reibung an den Arbeitsbühnen und/oder Arbeitsächen abnutzen.

Hinweis :

Das Höhensicherungsgerät darf nicht unter Fußhöhe installiert werden.

Einsatz in schräger Lage :

Die Höhensicherungsgeräte Miller sind für einen Einsatz in schräger Lage nicht zugelassen.
