You have just acquired Personal Pro­tective Equipment ( PPE ) and we
thank you for your condence. Please
follow the instructions given here

BEFORE EVERY USE OF THE EQUIP­MENT, in order to gain maximum

benet (also refer to the specic ma­nual for the product).

Failure to follow the instructions given
in this manual may have grave conse­quences. We recommend that you
re-read these instructions from time
to time. In addition, the manufacturer
or its representative declines all res­ponsibility in case of any use, storage
method or maintenance carried out in
any other manner than that described
in this manual.

USER, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT

THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE GIVEN

TO THE END USER

In the interests of the user’s safety, if
the product is re-sold outside of the
original destination country, the seller
must provide the following informa­tion in the language habitually used
in the country of use:

maintenance instructions for

periodical examination;

instructions concerning repairs;
additional information required

that is specific to the equipment.

A fall arrest harness is the only body
harness that is legal for use in a fall ar­rest system.

It is necessary to be completely sure
before use that the recommendations
specic to each element associated
with this product are respected, as
dened in their instructions, that
they comply with the applicable Eu­ropean standards or otherwise any
other appropriate standard and that
their safety functions do not interfere
with one another. Whenever possible,
it is stongly recommended that this
equipment be personally assigned to
a single user.

Check that the product you have just
acquired is compatible with the re­commendations of the other system
components.

While in use, protect your PPE against
all risks connected with the work en­vironment : thermal, electrical or me­chanical shocks, acid splashes, sharp
edges, etc.

WARNING

Activities carried out at a height
are dangerous and can result in
serious accidents and injuries.
Please bear in mind that you are
personally responsible in case of
an accident, injury or fatality to
either yourself or a third party
during or following the use of
one of our products. It is recom­mended that training in the use
of our products is carried out un­der the supervision and instruc­tion of a competent and expe­rienced person. Ensure that you
have been adequately trained
in the use of this PPE and make
sure that you have fully under­stood how it works. If you are in
any doubt, do not take any risks
but seek advice. Good physical
condition is necessary in order
to carry out work at a height.
Certain medical conditions can
endanger the safety of the user
during normal use of the harness
and in case of emergency (taking
medication, cardiovascular pro­blem …). If you have any doubts,
ask your doctor.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The retractable type fall arrester must
be attached to a reliable anchorage by
its karabiner. The automatic karabiner
situated at the end of the cable or of
the strap must be attached to the at­taching point of the fall arrest harness
(cf EN 361:2002). During the ascent
and/or the descent of the user, the
cable, strap will be kept in tension by
the retracting spring integrated into
the equipment. In event of a fall, the
clamping internal system will stop the
cable, strap uncoiling thanks to the
activation of a calibrated lock which
will stop the fall in optimal conditions.

The equipment is adjusted in factory

so, to keep its results, under no cir­cumstances its adjustment must be
changed.

THE CHANGE OF AN ADJUSTMENT

WOULD MAKE THE EQUIPMENT

CHECKING BEFORE USE

Before each use, carry out a tho­rough visual examination to ensure
that thePPE, as well as any other
equipment with which it could be
associated (connector, lanyard…) is
complete. Make all necessary arrange­ments for the implementation of any
rescue in total safety. In the event of
your product being damaged, consult
the manufacturer or his agent. If you
have any doubts regarding the safe
condition of the product, or if the pro­duct has been used to arrest a fall,it is
essential to your personal safety that
the PPE be withdrawn from service
and sent back to the manufacturer or
a qualied repair centre for checking,
or destruction. Following examina­tion, the centre will either deliver or
refuse written authorisation to re­use the PPE. It is strictly forbidden to
modify or repair a PPE yourself. Only
the manufacturer or a repair centre
is qualied to carry out these repairs
(g. 1.1).=

When the system is delivered with an

USE

AIR CLEARANCE

Before using a cable drum, check for
a minimum space clearance below
the user’s feet as necessary, to prevent
any collision with the structure or the
ground.

With a weight of 100 kg in a normal
use (cable drum above the head), the
air clearance D is the stopping dis­tance H + an additional distance A +
1M. A is function of the length of cable
out L and the angle α formed by the
cable (or D, H, A and L in m and α in°)
(Picture 3) (except in special cases ­see specic manual).

ANCHORAGE POINT :

Choose, if possible, an anchorage
point (except in special cases - see
specic manual) that conforms to the
standard EN 795: that is to say ele­ments xed to last, to a structure (wall,
post…).

PERIODIC EXAMINATION

These instructions must be kept with
the product. Fill in the identication
sheet and enter the markings informa­tion. This periodic examination, which
veries the eectiveness and strength
of the equipment is indispensable in
guaranteeing the user’s safety (refer
to the paragraph “checks before use”).
A qualied person (manufacturer or a
person or organization authorized by
the manufacturer) must examine this
equipment at least once each year (ex­cept in some specic cases – see the
specic manual), in strict compliance
with the instructions of the manufac­turer and the examination must be
recorded on the attached sheet. The
frequency of the examination must
be increased in accordance with re­gulations in case of heavy usage or
in dicult environmental conditions.
The legibility of the product markings
must be checked.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Good maintenance and storage of
your PPE will prolong the working-life
of your product, while also ensuring
your safety The retractable fall ar­resters do not require any particular
maintenance. However, it is advised
to: o regularly clean the cable or the
webbing and to checkits state (cf

§ cleaning above) (Picture 1.11). To

LIFESPAN

The maximal life of PPE that is predo­minantly textile is evaluated as being
10 years after the date of manufac­ture ; the maximal life of PPE that is
predominantly metal is evaluated as
being unlimited but, however, this
maximal life is reduced to 10 years
after the date of manufacture for
non-opening products (except in
some specic cases – see the specic
manual). However, the following fac­tors may reduce the performance of
the product and its lifespan : in cor­rect storage, improper use, fall arrest,
deformation, contact with chemical
products (alkali and acid),exposure to
sources of heat > 60°C .

In order to improve the working-life of
your device, it is advised not to:

let go of the cable, strap when it

is completely unwound but follow
it when it winds back into the fall
arrester. (Picture 1.15)

leave the cable, strap or the web-

bing out when not in use.

expose the device to violent

is stored well away from any source of
heat, damp, corrosive atmosphere, ul­traviolet rays, etc. …

Un harnais d’antichute est le seul dis­positif de préhension du corps qu’il
soit permis d’utiliser dans un système
d’arrêt des chutes.

Il est nécessaire de s’assurer avant
toute utilisation, que les recomman­dations propres à chaque élément
associé à ce produit telles que dénies
dans leurs notices sont respectées,
qu’ils respectent les normes euro­péennes applicables ou, à défaut,
toute autre norme appropriée et, que
leurs fonctions de sécurité n’interfè­rent pas entres-elles.

Lorsque cela est possible, il est forte­ment conseillé d’attribuer personnel­lement cet équipement à un seul et
même utilisateur.

Vériez que le produit que vous venez
d’acquérir est bien compatible avec
les recommandations des autres com­posants du système.

En cours d’utilisation, protégez votre
EPI contre tout risque lié à l’environ­nement de travail : choc thermique,
électrique ou mécanique, projection
d’acide, arêtes tranchantes etc. …

ATTENTION

Les activités en hauteur sont des
disciplines dangereuses qui peu­vent provoquer des accidents et
des blessures graves. Nous vous
rappelons que vous assumez per­sonnellement la responsabilité
en cas d'accident, de blessure ou
de décès pendant ou suite à l'uti­lisation de nos produits, à vous­même ou à une tierce personne.
L’utilisation de nos produits est
réservée à des personnes compé­tentes, ayant suivi une formation
adéquate ou, sous la responsabi­lité d’un supérieur compétent. En­traînez-vous à l’usage de cet EPI et
assurez-vous d’avoir pleinement
compris son fonctionnement. En
cas de doute, ne prenez pas de
risque mais renseignez-vous ! Une
bonne condition physique est
obligatoire pour eectuer des tra­vaux en hauteur. Certaines contre­indications médicales peuvent
nuire à la sécurité de l’utilisateur
lors de l’utilisation normale du
harnais et en cas d’urgence (prise
de médicaments, problème car­dio-vasculaire…). En cas de doute,
renseignez-vous auprès de votre
médecin.

PRINCIPE DE FONCTIONNEMENT

L'antichute à rappel automatique doit
être accroché à un ancrage able par
son mousqueton. Le mousqueton au­tomatique situé au bout du câble ou
de la sangle est à accrocher au point
d’ancrage du harnais d’antichute (cf.
EN 361:2002). Lors de l’ascension et/
ou de la descente de l’utilisateur, le
câble, sangle sera maintenu en ten­sion par le ressort de rappel intégré
dans l’appareil. En cas de chute, le
système interne de blocage arrêtera
le déroulement du câble ou sangle

en actionnant un frein calibré qui
permettra l’arrêt de la chute dans des
conditions optimales.

L’appareil étant réglé en usine, il ne
faut en aucun cas modier son ré­glage pour ne pas altérer ses perfor­mances.

LA MODIFICATION D’UN

RÉGLAGE RENDRAIT L’APPAREIL

VERIFICATION AVANT UTILISATION

Avant chaque utilisation, il y a lieu de
procéder à un examen visuel appro­fondi an de s'assurer de l'intégrité de
l’EPI ainsi que tout autre équipement
pouvant lui être associé (connecteur,
longe…) et, de prendre des disposi­tions concernant la mise en oeuvre
d’un éventuel sauvetage en toute sé­curité. En cas d’endommagement de
votre produit consulter le fabricant ou
son mandataire. Si vous émettez des
doutes quant à l’état de sûreté d'un
produit ou si le produit a été utilisé
pour arrêter une chute, il est essentiel
pour votre sécurité que l’EPI soit retiré
du service et qu'il soit renvoyé au fa­bricant ou à un centre de réparation
qualié pour vérication ou destruc­tion. Après examen, le centre délivrera
ou non une autorisation écrite pour
réutiliser l’EPI.

Il est strictement interdit de modier
ou de réparer vous-même un EPI, seul
le fabricant ou un centre de réparation
est habilité à eectuer ces réparations.

Dans le cas d’un système fourni avec
un équipement intégré, il est interdit
de remplacer un des composants de

REMARQUES

Les antichutes à rappel automatique
sont conçus principalement pour
fonctionner en position verticale.
Toutefois, certains modèles sont aussi
aptes à fonctionner en position hori­zontale (pour conrmation, contac­ter le fabricant ou son mandataire).
Cependant, avant installation, il est
vivement recommandé de vérier
l'absence de risque pendulaire et de
protéger le câble, sangle contre tout
objet tranchant et matière abrasive.
Pour les antichutes à rappel automa­tique équipés d'un témoin de chute,
vériez, avant toute utilisation, que
le témoin de chute n’a pas été activé.
Son activation atteste que l’appareil
a été soumis à une chute ou à une
force de traction importante. Dans
ce cas, l’appareil doit être retourné au
fabricant ou à un centre de réparation
agréé pour vérication (Fig 2)

UTILISATION

Connexion :

L’antichute à rappel automatique

peut être connecté à un point
d’ancrage fiable par sa poignée
ou par un connecteur, une
longe, une élingue conforme aux
normes EN 362, EN 354, EN 795.

Le connecteur situé à l’extrémité

du câble ou de la sangle de l’ap­pareil doit être connecté au point
d’ancrage antichute du harnais.

annexe.

TIRANT D’AIR

Vériez avant l’utilisation d’un enrou­leur l’existence d'un tirant d'air mini­mal nécessaire sous les pieds de l'uti­lisateur, an d'éviter toute collision
avec la structure ou le sol.

Avec une masse de 100 kg en congu­ration normale d’utilisation (enrouleur
au-dessus de la tête), le tirant d'air D
est la distance d'arrêt H + une distance
supplémentaire A + 1m. A est fonction
de la longueur de câble sorti L et α
l’angle formé par le câble ( où D, H, A
et L en m et α en °) (Fig 3) (sauf cas par­ticuliers: voir notice spécique).

POINT D’ANCRAGE

Sie haben eine persönliche Schut­zausrüstung (PSA) erworben, und wir
danken Ihnen für Ihr Vertrauen. Damit
das Produkt Ihre Erwartungen und
Ansprüchen voll erfüllt, bitten wir Sie
VOR JEDER BENUTZUNG die nachs­tehenden Anweisungen zu befolgen
(siehe auch die produktspezische
Bedienungsanleitung).

Die Nichtbeachtung der in diesen
Anweisungen enthaltenen Maßre­geln kann schwere Auswirkungen zur
Folge haben. Wir raten Ihnen, diese
Anweisungen von Zeit zu Zeit na­chzulesen.

Ferner lehnt der Hersteller bzw. sein
beauftragter Händler jede Verantwor­tung ab, wenn Benutzung, Lagerung
oder Wartung in anderer Weise erfol­gen als in diesen Anweisungen bes­chrieben ist.

Vor jeder Benutzung ist sicherzustel­len, dass die Hinweise entsprechend
den Gebrauchsanweisungen der ein­zelnen Zusatzteile zu diesem Produkt,
die gültigen europäischen Normen
bzw. jede sonstige zutreende Norm
eingehalten werden und die jeweili­gen Sicherheitsfunktionen sich nicht
gegenseitig beeinträchtigen. Es wird
dringend empfohlen, diese Ausrüs­tung möglichst ein und demselben

Benutzer persönlich zuzuweisen.
Prüfen Sie, ob das neu erworbene Pro-

dukt auch mit den Empfehlungen der
übrigen Teile des Sicherungssystems
kompatibel ist.

Schützen Sie Ihre PSA während des
Einsatzes vor Gefahren aus der Arbeit­sumgebung: Wärme-/Kälteschock,
Strom, Stöße, Säuren, scharfe Kante­nusw. …

medizinische Gegenanzeigen
können die Sicherheit des Benut­zers bei der normalen Verwen­dung des Geschirrs und im Not­fall (Medikamenteneinnahme,
Herz- Kreislaufprobleme...)
beeinträchtigen. Im Zweifelsfall
wenden sie sich an Ihren Arzt.

FUNKTIONSPRINZIP

Das Höhensicherungsgerät muss mit
seinem Karabiner an einen sicheren
Anschlagpunkt angeschlossen wer­den. Der automatische Karabiner am
Ende des Drahtseils oder Gurtbands
wird am Anschlagpunkt des Auang­gurtes (cf. EN 361:2002) befestigt.
Beim Auf- bzw. Abwärtsbewegen des
Benutzers wird das Drahtseil bzw.
Gurtband durch die Spannfeder im

Gerät stra gehalten. Im Sturzfall
wird das Drahtseil bzw. Gurtband
durch den eingebauten Mechanismus
blockiert, der durch eine kalibrierte
Bremse den Sturz unter optimalen Be­dingungen auängt. Die Einstellung
des Geräts wird im Werk vorgenom­men und darf auf keinen Fall verän­dert werden, um seine Leistungsfähi­gkeit nicht zu beeinträchtigen.

BEI VERÄNDERUNG EINER

EINSTELLUNG WIRD DAS GERÄT

ÜBERPRÜFUNG

Vor jedem Einsatz muss eine genaue
visuelle Prüfung durchgeführt wer­den, um sich von der Unversehrtheit
der PSA sowie jeder sonstigen mit
ihr verbundenen Einrichtung zu ver­gewissern (Verbinder, Leine...), und es
müssen Vorkehrungen für eine even­tuelle Rettung in völliger Sicherheit
getroen werden. Bei einer Beschädi­gung Ihres Produktes wenden Sie sich
bitte an den Hersteller oder seinen
Beauftragten. Falls Sie Zweifel am Si­cherheitszustand eines Produktes ha­ben oder das Produkt zum Auangen
eines Sturzes gedient hat, ist es für
Ihre Sicherheit absolut notwendig, die
PSA aus dem Betrieb zu nehmen und
dem Hersteller oder einer zugelasse­nen Reparaturstelle zur Überprüfung
oder Vernichtung zu übergeben. Nach
der Untersuchung muss diese Stelle
eine schriftliche Erlaubnis zur Wieder­verwendung der PSA ausstellen oder
aber verweigern. Es ist streng unter­sagt, selbst eine PSA zu verändern
oder zu reparieren; nur der Herstel­ler oder eine Reparaturstelle ist be­fugt, diese Reparaturen auszuführen
(Abb.1.1).

Wird ein System mit einer zugehöri­gen Schutzausrüstung geliefert, darf
kein Bestandteil dieses Systems er­setzt werden. Vor dem Einsatz bitte
folgende Punkte kontrollieren:

HINWEISE

Die automatisch sichernden Auang­geräte sind hauptsächlich für den Ein­satz in senkrechter Position bestimmt.
Bestimmte Modelle funktionieren
jedoch auch in der Waagrechten (Bes­tätigung beim Hersteller oder seinem
Beauftragten einholen). Es wird indes­sen dringend empfohlen, vor der Ins­tallierung darauf zu achten, dass keine
Pendelgefahr besteht und das Dra­htseil bzw. Gurtband vor scharfkanti­gen Gegenständen und schleifenden
Materialien geschützt ist.

Bei Höhensicherungsgeräten mit ei­nem Fall-Indikator muss vor einem
Einsatz kontrolliert werden, ob der In­dikator schon ausgelöst wurde. Sollte
der Indikator ausgelöst worden sein,
heißt dies, dass bereits ein Fallereignis
auf dieses Gerät gewirkt hat. In die­sem Fall muß das Gerät zum Herstel­ler oder zur Service Station geschickt
werden. (Abb. 1.2)

Vorkehrungen vor dem Einsatz:

LICHTE HÖHE

Vor Benutzung einer Spannrolle
kontrollieren, ob unter den Füßen
des Benutzers die nötige lichte Min­desthöhe vorhanden ist, um ein
Aufprallen am Gebäude oder Boden
auszuschließen. Bei einem Gewicht
von 100 kg errechnet sich die nö­tige lichte Höhe D bei normaler Ein­satzkonguration (Spannrolle über
dem Kopf) aus der Auangstrecke H
+ einer Zugabe A + 1m entspricht. A

WARTUNG UND LAGERUNG

Gute Pege und sachgemäße Lage­rung Ihrer PSA verlängern die Le­bensdauer des Produktes und sind
eine Garantie für Ihre Sicherheit. Die
Höhensicherungsgeräte sind war­tungsfrei. Trotzdem empfehlen wir
Ihnen:

Reinigen Sie das Drahtseil oder

Gurtband regelmäßig und kontrol­lieren Sie den Zustand. (siehe
nachstehenden Abschnitt " Reini­gung ") (Abb. 1.11). Die Materialzu­sammensetzung des Gurtbands
ist in der Spezialanweisung in der
Anlage angegeben.

Bewahren Sie die Verbindungs-

LEBENSDAUER

Die maximale Lebensdauer von PSA
mit textilem Hauptanteil wird auf
10 Jahre ab dem Fertigungsdatum
geschätzt ; die maximale Lebensdauer
von PSA mit metallischem Hauptanteil
gilt als unbegrenzt, jedoch wird diese
maximale Lebensdauer bei Produkten,
deren Gehäuse nicht zu önen ist, auf
10 Jahre ab dem Fertigungsdatum be­grenzt (ausgenommen spezielle Fälle,
siehe spezische Benutzeranweisun­gen). Folgende Faktoren können die

Leistungsfähigkeit des Produktes und
seine Lebensdauer jedoch schmälern:
schlechte Lagerung, unsachgemäße
Benutzung, Auangen eines Sturzes,
mechanische Verformung, Berührung
mit chemischen Stoen (Säuren und
Basen), Einwirken starker Wärmequel­len > 60°C.

Um die Lebensdauer Ihres Gerätes zu
verlängern empfehlen wir Ihnen:

Ziehen Sie das Kabel bzw. Gurt-

band komplett aus dem Gerät aus
und lassen Sie es zurücklaufen.

Lassen Sie das Kabel oder Band

aufgerollt im Gerät, wenn es nicht
