INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
BLOWER FAN KIT A-00503-A
To lower vibration levels in
HB100, HB180, HB180V and BP250 Blowers
INSTALLATION ON “D” SHAPED SHAFTS
1. Remove starter rope from spark plug hole.
2. Install fan, fan adaptor and belleville washer (concave side
towards fan) as shown in Figure 2.
3. Hold fan and install the fan retaining nut and torque the nut
150-200 in. lbs. (17,0-22,5 Nm).
4. Install outer volute and back pack frame (BP250).

DISCONNECT SP ARK PLUG BEFORE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE, ADJUSTMENT, LUBRICATION AND STORAGE.
WARNING
Improper fan installation will result in excessive unit
vibration.
FAN REMOVAL
1. Remove the blower from the back pack frame (BP250 only).
2. Remove seven hex screws and separate inner and outer
volute housings.
3. Remove the spark plug and install a length of starter rope
as a piston stop.
4. Remove the fan retaiing nut, belleville washer, outer fan
washer and fan. Discard outer fan washer and fan.
FAN INSTALLATION
The Blower Fan Kit consists of a blower fan (part no. 04334)
and 2 fan adaptors (part no. 04335 for “D” shaped shafts) and
(part no. 04335-1 for round shafts).

INSTALLATION ON ROUND SHAFTS
1. Remove starter rope from spark plug hole. Position piston at
top-dead-center.
2. Assemble new fan with molded scribe line on the fan in line
with the spark plug (see Figure 1).
3. Install the fan adaptor and belleville washer (concave side
towards fan) as shown in Figure 2..
4. Hold the fan and install the fan retaining nut and torque the
nut 150-200 in. lbs. (17,0-22,5 Nm).
5. R-check the fan alignment with a piston at top-dead-center.
Adjust as necessary.
6. Install outer volute and back pack frame (BP250).
NOTE
Do not use an impact wrench to tighten the fan retaining
nut.
WARNING
Blower will vibrate excessively if fan is improperly installed.
