DANGER – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK:

Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.

Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately.

Never use pins or other metallic fasteners with this appliance.

An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use, and before putting on or taking off parts or attachments.

Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by HoMedics; specifically any attachments not provided with the unit.

NEVER operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the appliance to HoMedics Service Center for examination and repair.

Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

NEVER drop or insert any object into any opening.

DO NOT operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

DO NOT operate under a blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

DO NOT carry this appliance by the supply cord or use cord as a handle.

To disconnect, turn all controls to the “off” position, then remove plug from outlet.

DO NOT use outdoors.

NEVER operate the appliance with the air openings blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and the like.

Use heated surfaces carefully. May cause serious burns. Do not use over insensitive skin areas or in the presence of poor circulation. The unattended use of heat by children or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.

This appliance is designed for personal, non-professional use.

DO NOT use this massager in close proximity to loose clothing or jewelry.

Keep long hair away from massager while in use.

This product is not intended for medical use. It is intended only to provide a luxurious massage.

Consult your doctor prior to using this product if:

-You are pregnant

-You have a pacemaker

-You have any concerns regarding your health

Not recommended for use by diabetics.

Never leave the appliance unattended, especially if children are present.

Never cover the appliance when it is in operation.

Do not use this product for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Extensive use could lead to the product’s excessive heating and shorter life. Should this occur, discontinue use and allow the unit to cool before operating.

Never use this product directly on swollen or inflamed areas or skin eruptions.

DO NOT use this product as a substitute for medical attention.

DO NOT use this product before bedtime. The massage has a stimulating effect and can delay sleep.

This product should NEVER be used by any individual suffering from any physical ailment that would limit the user’s capacity to operate the controls or who has sensory deficiencies in the lower half of their body.

This appliance is intended for household use only.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1.Assemble the chaise according to the set-up instructions included in the box with your unit.

2.Remove the adapter from its box and plug the receptacle into the input jack located on the left side of the chaise.

3.Plug into an AC 120-volt outlet.

4.Once your chaise is set up, you can start enjoying the shiatsu massage mechanism according to the directions on page 8-9.

5.You may choose to lift the fabric flap and let it hang behind the seat back for a more intense massage.

6.You can change the reclining position of your chaise by folding the back of the chaise forward completely, then pushing it back away from the seat until you hear the hinge click. This is the most reclined position. To sit up straighter, lift the back of the chaise forward slightly until you hear another click. Repeat this process until your desired recline angle is reached. There are 4 total recline positions to enjoy.

7.To change the position of the leg rest, first pull up on the end of the leg rest until you hear the hinge click. Next, push the end of the leg rest toward the floor until you hear a second click. To move the leg rest up, lift the leg rest slightly until you hear it click into place. There are 3 leg rest positions you can enjoy.

8.Your chaise can also be utilized for seating without the massage mechanism activated.

MAINTENANCE

TO STORE

Place massage chaise in its box or in a safe, cool, dry place. Avoid contact with sharp edges or pointed objects that might cut or puncture the fabric surface. To avoid breakage, do not wrap the power cord around the unit.

TO CLEAN

Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning. Clean only with a soft, slightly damp sponge. Never allow water or any other liquids to come into contact with the unit.

Do not immerse in any liquid to clean.

Never use abrasive cleaners, brushes, gasoline, kerosene, glass/furniture polish, or paint thinner to clean.

Do not attempt to repair the chaise. There are no user-serviceable parts. For service, call the Consumer Relations telephone number listed in the Warranty section.

Caution: To avoid pinching do not lean on the back massage mechanism in the chaise when adjusting your body position.

Do not jam or force any part of your body in the moving massage mechanism. Note: There is a 15-minute auto shut off on the unit for your safety.

NOTE: Only gentle force should be exerted against the unit in order to eliminate any/all risk of injury. You may soften massage force by placing a towel between yourself and the unit.

POWER BUTTON

To turn on the massage functions, first press the power button. The massage chaise will power on. Next, you can choose the full, upper, or lower back massage zone with optional neck massage.

NECK MASSAGE

To turn on neck massage mechanism, press the “NECK MASSAGE” button.

NECK MASSAGE HEIGHT

You may adjust the neck massage shiatsu nodes by holding down either “HEIGHT” button until the desired position is reached. The up arrow will move the mechanism upward, and the down arrow will move it downward. Once you release the button, the mechanism will stop in that place.

BACK SPOT MASSAGE

While the unit is in kneading massage, press one of the “SPOT” button arrows to stop and focus the shiatsu action in one place. Once the “SPOT”

function is activated, press the up arrow to move the massage mechanism up, or press the down arrow to move it downward.

SPEED

While the unit is in kneading massage, press the “H/L” button to adjust the speed that the massage nodes will travel. The default speed is high. Pressing the “H/L” button once will decrease the speed to low.

DEMO BUTTON

For a brief demonstration of the features of the massage chaise, press the “DEMO” button. The unit will briefly go through each function. Once completed, the unit automatically turns off. The LED light will blink to indicate active function.

NECK MASSAGE WITH SOOTHING HEAT

To turn on soothing heat in the neck massage nodes, press the “HEAT” button while the neck massage is in use. To turn off heat, press the button again.

BACK MASSAGE ZONES

You can select full, upper, or lower back massage. To select a zone, press the button, and the LED will

illuminate. To deselect, press the button again or select a different zone.

BACK MASSAGE WITH SOOTHING HEAT

To turn on soothing heat in the back massage nodes, press the “HEAT” button while the back massage is in use. To turn off heat, press the button again.

Note: For your safety, heat can only be turned on while a massage program is running.
