CQF SERIES CONVERTIBLE
FOOD EQUIPMENT
STANDARD FEATURES
■ The convertible is basically a frozen food
storage (0°F) cabinet, which can be converted
to a normal temperature (40°F) refrigerator by
operating a selector switch located on top of
cabinet immediately behind the compressor
housing. It can also be field adjusted to operate
at any set temperature between 0°F and 40°F.
Note: Any setting below 34°F should be set on
freezer mode. It is available on one and two
section QF series.
■ Convertible models are designed to hold within
the range of a nominal 40°F cabinet to a nominal 0°F cabinet. (Extremes of 50°F and -10° F
are not recommended.)
■ As a frozen food unit, the cooling coils, condensing unit size, controls and defrost system
are sized to handle these load requirements.
When the selector switch is changed to the
normal temperature position, none of these
elements change.

CQF SERIES CONVERTIBLE FROZEN FOOD CABINETS
■ The defrost system is isolated from the operational circuit. The condensing unit and cooling
coils are larger than normally used, so they
operate a smaller percentage of the time than
on a standard cabinet.
■ In order to ensure optimum performance, the
condensing unit of the reach-in MUST have an
adequate supply of air for cooling purposes.
Therefore, the operating location must either
have a minimum of 12" clearance overhead of
the condensing unit or allow unrestricted air
flow at the back of the reach-in, unless remote
installation.
