Welcome to the World of Swans
Swans Speaker Systems, Inc. has been founded with the goal of researching, designing, and manufacturing high quality drivers and loudspeakers using original products and technologies. Hi-Vi RESEARCH - a company with an international reputation and over ten years of success in the loudspeaker industry has become a manufacturing base for Swans
With more than ten years of profound experience, our engineers know what it takes to create a serious product. In order to realize our ambitious goals, we started by installing the latest high-tech equipment in spacious, modern buildings in California, USA, creating model facilities for loudspeaker design.
In order to maintain and advance our position, we do not accept compromises. From the design stage through the manufacturing process, and finally, the all -important quality control procedures, every step we take is with one goal in mind - Quality. Quality in the broadest sense of the term. We use state-of-the-art R & D tools and software for designing and testing. We have installed sophisticated assembling equipment in our factories from several well known US and European companies. All components are carefully specified and checked before being put into production, no matter where they come from - North America, Europe or Eastern Asia. All systems undergo multiple Quality Control inspections and tests before being shipped.
Swans have a broad product range to satisfy every customer every application category. We are positive that you can find a system that provides the exact combination of qualities and price for your special requirements.

In the design stage of our home theater systems, we carefully match the spectral balance of all of the front loudspeakers in both anechoic and real room acoustic environments. This provides for a smooth, seamless integration across the entire front of the sound field, contributing to a more convincing aural and visual experience.
These systems deliver the high dynamic range, good speech intelligibility, and realistic sound images necessary for a completely involving home theater experience.
The stereo loudspeaker lines include models of a variety of sizes and configurations. Our goal with these loudspeakers is to not only create very accurate loudspeakers, but also to create an emotionally involving experience for the listener.
Since we manufacture all drive units used in our systems, we have absolute control over all parameters and customize each driver for the system it is used in. Drivers are carefully matched before being used in production and all systems are extensively tested after completion for several performance parameters and matched to tight tolerances before leaving the factory.
Initially, all crossovers are computer-optimized and based on second-order Linkwitz-Riley or third-order Butterworth networks. Then the networks are further refined through extensive testing and, more importantly, listening sessions.
All drive units designed by Swans are manufactured under the name of Hi-Vi RESEARCH. Some of these drivers were incorporated into two lines of home theater and stereo loudspeakers marketed under the name Swans and Diva. They have already received very positive reviews in the international audio press.
With our successful growth we have taken steps to advance our position in the global loudspeaker market. The F-Series has become the name of our high performance loudspeaker systems that incorporate our newly developed isodynamic ribbon tweeters for the ultimate in transparency and resolution, while the Diva Series offers exceptional value and beauty and the Swans line has become our most internation-
The use of polypropylene capacitors that have been screened carefully through listening insures maximum transparency in the midrange and tweeter filters. Each filter rests on its own dedicated board and is isolated from vibration by a rubber interface to eliminate microphonics. Additionally, the boards are separated as far as possible to prevent interaction.
The cabinets are heavily internally braced to reduce vibrations and provide cleaner sound. CNC machines are used to provide the most exacting tolerances possible and all wood is treated to reduce moisture content and insure long-term stability. All cabinets and finishes are inspected one at a time to insure perfection in construction and appearance. The floor-standing loudspeakers are supported by massive brass spikes to provide tighter bass as well as level or tilt the system. After initial computer design, we fine-tune the complete system through a series of critical listening sessions and in-room measurements.

Ultra High-end Loudspeaker System - Swans 2.2
The Swans 2.2 is Swans flagship system standing over 6'8" tall. This is one of those" wall of sound "experiences that will leave you breathless.
The system employs 16x2 midrange ribbon drivers and 32x2 ribbon tweeters to give an incredibly accurate soundstage. By using multiple small ribbon drivers instead of the more conventional singular plainer ribbon, the speaker is much easier to place. The sweet spot is large and involving.
Integration with sub-woofers is much easier. Instead of using a conventional large diameter woofer, the designers chose eight robust 8" woofers. Each woofer incorporates a huge 4" diameter voice coil. This is a 300% increase in size over conventional voice coils. Using multiple small woofers with oversized voice coils is likened to dropping a high performance engine into a small sports car. The results are explosive. There is a visceral 'slap in the chest' reaction to action sounds such as explosions and gunshots. The cabinets are beautifully finished in rosewood, piano black or a contemporary brushed aluminum finish.

2.2
For years, a lot of us at Swans have been interested in high end audio.
We became spoiled listening to great sounding speakers. This became apparent when we went out with friends to socialize at bars or clubs. Our ears got a rude awakening to the reality of most commercial PA systems. To put it bluntly, they sucked!
Our musician friends would ask us if we could build a PA speaker that sounded good. Unfortunately at that time, the drivers we used in our own home audio systems could never stand up to the abuse that a PA speaker must endure, so we could never accommodate their requests.
Finally our owner succumbed and told his engineering department to design a PA speaker that would play loud and sound great.
Well after a year of development we have done it. The Pro1808R uses a combination of ribbon tweeters and high efficiency drivers that as one musician friend proclaimed “knocks the socks off of the competition”. There are four 6-inch ribbon tweeters behind the high frequency horn. Trebles are sweet and easy on the ears. The midrange is handle by a high efficiency 8-inch driver and the bass with a massive 18-inch woofer. The rated efficiency is 100 db and it will play loud!!!
Listen to the best PA speaker you can find then come listen to Swans.
You will be impressed.

The F1HT (Home Theater) is an impressive package.
Starting with the woofers, there are 20. If you want to experience realism in your movies you need to feel the sound, especially deep bass. This is a lot easier to achieve when the system has lots of woofers. But these are not ordinary woofers. They are from our D series that we manufacture ourselves. If you look on our web site you will see they have some pretty impressive qualities. The voice coils are huge allowing them to effortlessly produce thundering bass that will raise the hair on the back of your neck.
While the bass is impressive, we feel a more important quality in home theatre is the midrange, the area of audio spectrum where the human voice is concentrated.
The F1HT has 20 dome midrange drivers that excel in unraveling the most complex passages in movie dialogue.
Instead of the conventional dome type tweeter, we use a ribbon tweeter to reproduce high frequency sound. The advantage of ribbon tweeters over domes in home theater is apparent when you look at the way sound radiates from the driver. A conventional dome tweeter is fairly directional and projects most of it’s high frequency sound in a narrow cone shaped pattern. Great if your seated directly in front of the speaker but not if your are at the end of the couch or worse yet, in another chair. Ribbons tweeters on the other hand disperse sound in a flattened oval shape across a wide listening area. Everybody hears great sound.
The F1HT was designed for those who simply want a better experience than is available at their local theater.
