In order to reduce both weight and price, the new model incorporates an armature fan made of resin, unlike the one made of aluminum in the existing model. The use of the resin fan lowers the armature’s moment of inertia, which is a factor in increasing cutting efficiency. Therefore, the new model is somewhat inferior to the existing Model M 12V2 in terms of cutting efficiency for heavy cutting work as shown in the figure below. However, the new model can provide cutting efficiency equivalent to that of the existing model and higher than that of the C1 in the practical working range of relatively light cutting work because it adopts a motor having the same rated power (2,000 W) as that of the existing model, while achieving a significant weight reduction.
