To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate the unit, this will assure you years of faithful, trouble free performance and listening pleasure.
Important Notes
x This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference. x The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled
with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on apparatus.
x Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:
o Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such as
electric heaters.
o On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat. o Places blocking ventilation or dusty places. o Places subject to constant vibration. o Humid or moist places.
x No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on or near the unit; x Make sure not to obstruct the ventilation openings, minimum 10cm should be kept around

Safety Information
Some Do’s And Don’ts On the Safe Use Of Equipment
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards but, like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and safety is to be assured.
DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment. DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and
inter-connections between the pieces of equipment) are properly made and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. DON’T continue to operate the equipment if you are in any doubt about it working normally or if it is damaged in any way, switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
Caution: The power adapter has a removable plug, please handle with care.
Caution: The power adaptor will still be supplying power to the unit when connected,
even if the unit appears to be off. The power adaptor must be removed from the mains socket to power off completely.

Getting Started
Connect the unit to the power outlet, it will automatically enter the clock mode.
DAB Mode
Touch to enter the DAB mode.
Scanning for DAB Radio Stations
1. For initial use in DAB mode, your radio will now scan for DAB stations in your area and store them in memory. A slide bar is displayed on the LCD, indicating the progress of the scan.
2. Once the scanning is completed, the DAB stations will be displayed in alphanumeric order. The first station in the list will be selected.

(a) To perform an Autoscan scan, press and to
select Autoscan and start scanning. A progressing slide bar is displayed on the LCD until the autoscan finished.
Note: In DAB mode, you may press or to browse
<Autoscan>, <Add new stations>, <Autoselect> and <Manual Tune>.
(b) Once the scanning is completed, the station name list
will be displayed in alphanumeric order.

Changing the DAB Station Information
It is possible to change the information that is displayed on the second line of the display when listening to a DAB station. There are five types of information available as listed below with examples on the right.

Dynamic Label Segment (DLS):
This is scrolling text information supplied by the DAB station. It may comprise information on music titles or details of the program and is provided by the broadcaster.
Program Type (PTY):
This is a description of the type of program provided by the DAB station and is provided by the broadcaster.
Multiplex Name:
This will show the multiplex that is broadcasting the program you are listening to.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by the

Secondary Services
You may see a ">" symbol after the name of the station, this indicates that there are secondary services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra services that are related to the primary station. E.g. A sports station may want to add extra commentaries. The secondary services are inserted directly after the primary station in the station list. To select the
secondary station, press secondary service ends, the radio will automatically switch back to the primary station.

Setting DAB/FM Station Presets
Your radio can store 5 DAB station presets and 5 FM station presets, this will enable you to get direct access to your favourite stations.
To store the current station:
1. Touch and hold one of preset touch pad
until Preset # stored displayed on the LCD.
2. You may repeat step 1 until all 5 presets are full.
Selecting a Preset DAB/FM station
1. To select a stored DAB/FM station, first enter corresponding

How to tune in FM Radio Stations
To listen to FM radio stations switch your radio on and touch
to enter the FM Mode.
1. Stereo detection (changing Auto type)-Auto/Off

0.05MHz per step manually until the desired frequency is reached, then your radio will immediately tune to that station.
x Seek (searching FM Radio Stations Automatically)
1. In tuning mode, press to select Seek.
2. Press or to automatically scan up or down the frequency band.
3. When the frequency of a strong signal station is detected, your radio will automatically tune to that station, and stop scanning.
4. To find the next strong signal repeat step 2. When it scans to the end of the frequency range, it will restart searching at the beginning.

Changing the FM Station Information
To change the information displayed press the button repeatedly, the display will cycle through the follow display modes.
Radio text:
This is scrolling text information supplied by the FM station. It may comprise information on music titles or details of the program and is provided by the broadcaster.
Program Type (PTY):
This is a description of the type of program provided by the FM station and is provided by the broadcaster.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by the broadcaster so will be accurate.
Frequency:
This displays the transmission Frequency of current

Docking and playing your iPod
This unit can play music files stored on your iPod through the stereo speakers
Docking your iPod
Dock Adapters
Insert the Dock Adapter that fits your iPod model, then plug in your iPod. The adapter number is marked at the back or side of each dock adapter.

1. Insert your iPod into the iPod docking on the top of the unit. This unit Dock will begin to charge your iPod if necessary. Charging will stop when the iPod is fully charged (check the iPod screen).
Note: 1st to 3rd generation iPod cannot be charged by this unit.

Clock Mode

2. Brightness
The backlight in normal mode has three settings (100%/50%/OFF), whereas night mode has three settings as (25%/50%/OFF), you may adjust the setting that best suits your personal preference.

1. When the Alarm is activated, you may temporarily deactivate the alarm by pressing any key.
2. The LCD displays Silence or Off, and the alarm will be
activated again when the snooze time counted down to zero.
x Alarm Off
1. To cancel the snooze function, press to select Silence.
It will then be back to the clock mode with the Alarm 1 icon being displayed on the LCD, and it will be activated according to the alarm setting for the next time.
2. To cancel the alarm, press

Night Mode
Night mode is designed to help user stay at an environment avoiding light disturbance from radio, you may select ON to active it, or select OFF to disable it.
