Cleaning The Screen
Your TV is fitted with a „True Flat" picture tube. The surface of the screen is covered with a foil. Under no circum­stances may this be damaged.
To clean
Clean the laminated screen with a soft cotton cloth. Only non-alkaline, thinned soapsuds on a basis of water or alkohol be used to moisten the cloth. Rub the surface gently with the cloth until the surface is completely dry.

may the screen be wiped with conven tional glass clean­ing fluid.
may the screen be brought into contact with abrasive materials.
may soiling be renoved by polishing or scouring.
To clean off sticky substances, the cloth can be moist­ened with acetone.
Under no circumstances clean with this acetone cloth the TV-Cabinet.

There is a wide range of audio and video equipment that can be connected to your TV.
The connection diagrams show the back of the TV where the different equipment should be connected.

Connect Peripheral Equipment
There is a wide range of audio and video equipment that can be connected to your TV.
The following connection diagrams show you where the dif­ferent equipment should be connected at the back or the front side of the TV.
TV and Video Recoder (VCR)
• Connect the Video Recorder to the ANT (Aerial) socket of the TV with the aerial cable.
• Connect the Video Recorder to the AV-1 or AV-2 terminal with the SCART cable, or connect it to the F-AV terminal with the audio and video cables.
Via the Euroconnector
Your TV set has one or two Euroconnector socket. If you want to connect peripherals (e.g. video, decoder, etc.) which have Euroconnectors, to your TV, use SCART I and SCART II in­puts.
If an external device is connected via Euroconnector sockets TV is switched to AV mode automatically. If the signal is RGB then the RGB OSD indicator is displayed on the screen.
In AV mode if you press the “ ” button the TV status OSD is displayed on the screen.
RGB mode
If an equipment can output the RGB signals, connect it to the AV-1 (SCART I) terminal.
• Select the RGB mode to watch images from that equipment.
• When not in the RGB mode, turn the RGB signals output equipment off.
SVHS (via SCART II)
If the equipment connected to your TV set supports S-Video (Y/ C) output from Euroconnector, you can have a better picture quality by selecting AV-2 mode and connecting your equipment to the SCART II terminal of TV. See your equipment's booklet to check if your equipment has such feature.
Via Aerial Input
If you want to connect to your TV, peripherals like video record­ers or decoders, but the device you want to connect does not have Euroconnector, you should connect it to the Aerial input of your TV set.
If the VCR is connected via aerial input it is suggested to use Programme 0.
Decoder
Cable TV offers you a wide choice of programs. Most of them are free, others are to be paid for by the viewer. This means that you will need to subscribe to the broadcasting organisa­tion whose programmes you wish to receive. This organisation will supply you a corresponding decoder unit to allow the programmes to be unscrambled.
For further information ask your dealer. See also the book­let supplied with your decoder.
Connect a decoder with an aerial socket to the TV
• Connect the aerial cable.
Connect a decoder without an aerial socket to the TV
• Connect the decoder to your TV with a eurocable to SCART I and SCART II. When your decoder has a Euroconnector you can obtain better picture quality if you connect a eurocable to EXTERNAL.
Playback NTSC
Connect NTSC VCR player to Euroconnector at the back of the TV.
or,
Connect NTSC VCR player to RCA Jack at the front of the TV.
Then, press “ SVHS.

• Select Features Menu in the Main Menu.
• Select AV-2 OUTPUT source pressing “ ” or “ ” button.
Search for and store the test signal of the video recorder
• Unplug the aerial cable from the aerial socket “ANT” of your video recorder.
• Switch on your TV and put the video recorder on the test sig­nal. (See the handbook for your video recorder.)
• Enter the Tuning menu via the Install menu.
• Search for the test signal of your video recorder in the same way as you searched for and stored the TV signals. See Tuning, Search and Store TV channels. Store the test signal under programme number 0.
• Replace the aerial cable in the aerial socket “ANT. ” of your video recorder once you have stored the test signal.
Camera and Camcorder
To connect to Front-AV input (F-AV)
Connect your camera or camcorder at the front side of your TV.
Connect the decoder to the video recorder
Some video recorders have a special euroconnector for de­coder.
• Connect a eurocable to the euroconnector of your decoder and to the special eurocon-nector of your video recorder. See also the handbook of your video recorder.
• To connect your video recorder to the TV, see TV and Video Recorder section.
If you want to connect more equipment to your TV, consult your dealer.
Connecting Headphones
Use the stereo headphone socket on the lower front side of your TV, to connect headphones.

Preparation
Place the TV on a solid surface.
If placing the TV into a cabinet or alcove, ensure there is at least a 100mm (10cm) gap to the sides and rear and top of the TV. This is to allow for adequate ventilation during operation. Please read below for more safety information before instal­lation.

Safety Precautions

DO’s
This Television has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards, but like any electrical equip­ment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and safety is to be assured.
DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment.
DO consult your dealer if you are in any doubt about installa­tion, operation or safety of your equipment.
DO be careful with glass panels or doors on equipment.
This TV is supplied with a fitted mains plug. This plug must not be cut off as it may contain a special radio interference fil­ter, the removal of which could lead to impaired performance. If you wish to extend the lead, obtain an appropriate safety ap­proved extension lead or consult your dealer.
Observe the manufacturers instructions when connecting ex­tension leads to the TV. Check the fuse rating on the new plug, this should be fitted with a 5 Amp fuse which conforms to ei­ther ASTA or BSI (BS1 362) approvals, these are easily iden-

DON’T continue to operate the equipment if you are in any doubt about it working normally, or if it is damaged in any way switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.

DON’T leave equipment switched on when it is unattended un­less it is specifically stated that it is designed for unattended operation or has a stand-by mode. Switch off using the switch on the equipment and make sure your family know how to do this. Special arrangements may need to be made for infirm or handicapped people.
DON’T use equipment such as personal stereos or radios so that you are distracted from the requirements of traffic safety. It is illegal to watch television whilst driving.
DON’T obstruct the ventilation of the equipment, for example with curtains or soft furnishings. Overheating will cause dam­age and shorten the life of the equipment.
DON’T use makeshift stands and NEVER fix legs or stands to the TV with any screws other than those provided - to ensure complete safety always use the manufacturers approved stand with the fixings provided.

7. Servicing
• NEVER let anyone, especially children push anything into holes, slots or any other opening in the case - this could result in a fatal electric shock.
NEVER guess or take chances with electrical equipment of any kind - it is better to be safe than sorry!
1. Power Cord
The power supply cable should be placed so that it is not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed on or against it. Pay particular attention to the cable

2. Moisture and Water
Do not use this equipment in a humid and damp place (avoid the bathroom, the sink in the kitchen, and near the washing machine). Do not expose this equipment to rain or water, as this may be dangerous and do not place objects filled with liq­uids on top. Avoid from dripping or splashing.
3. Cleaning
Before cleaning, unplug the receiver from the main supply out­let. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Clean with a soft dry cloth.
4. Lightning
To prevent damage during a storm, lightning or when going on holiday, disconnect the power lead and aerial from the wall outlet and disconnect the aerial plug from the back of the tele­vision.
Please refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Do not remove the back cover as this may result in an electric shock.
8. X-rays
This television has sheilding for protection against the emis­sion of X-rays.
9. Flame sources
Do not place naked flame sources on the apparatus.
Warning!
Any intervention contrary to regulations, in particular, any modi­fication of high voltage or a replacement of the picture tube may lead to an increased concentration of x-rays. Any televi­sion modified in this way no longer complies with license and must not be operated.

• Packaging and packaging aids are recyclable and should principally be recycled. Packaging materials, such as foil bag, must be kept away from children.

5. Ventilation
The slots and openings on the receiver are intended for ven­tilation and to ensure reliable operation. To prevent overheat­ing, these openings must not be blocked or covered in anyway.
6. Replacement Part
When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts which are specified by the manufacturer or have the same specifications as the origi­nal one. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electri­cal shock, or other hazards.
