CF 128 Insulating Foam
Basic Use
CF 128 typically is used for sealing and insulating around doors
and windows, piping, cables, v entilation ducts , and plumbing.
The acoustical properties of CF 128 make it a common choice
as an acoustical sealant for sound rated walls.CF 128 is also
used to seal openings, voids and gaps for asbestos remo val and
in concrete forms.
CF 128 is excellent for sealing around door and windo w fr ames
due to its minimal expanding characteristics, reducing the possibility of foam-related buckling of fr ames after installation.
CF 128 can be used on new construction as well as
renovation/rehab and maintenance of existing facilities.
After curing, CF 128 can be cut, scraped, painted, trimmed or
otherwise finished.
Shelf Life
CF 128 has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored at temperatures of 41°F to 77°F.
Limitations – Not recommended for . . .
• Direct exposure to sunlight because it will cause discoloration
and deterioration of the exposed surface.Such effects can be
prevented b y simply coating the surface with an exteriorgrade paint.
• Use when the temperature of the base material is below 41°F.
• Use as a firestopping material. Please ref er to the Hilti
Firestop Inspection & Installation Manual for specific details.

Preparation
- The substrate must be free
of dust, grease and oil.
- The substrate must be thoroughly premoistened.
- The can, dispenser, substrate and ambient temperature must be between
41° F(5°C) and 86° F(30° C).
- Thoroughly shake the
foam can.
Mounting the can
- Screw the foam can onto the
dispenser adapter.
Dispenser regulation
- Release the trigger catch
(tool is unlocked).
Use
- Varying pressure on the trigger controls the foam extrusion and bead size. This can
also be restricted by the
rotary adjustment knob.
Dispenser locking
- Close the trigger catch (tool
is locked).
- Screw adjustment knobs
clockwise to close.
