Getting Started
Attaching the Wrist Strap
Follow these instructions to attach the wrist strap to your camera to better protect your new camera:
1. Insert the smaller loop of the strap in the strap eyelet.
2. Thread the larger loop of the strap though the short loop and pull tight to attach the strap to the camera.
Inserting the Battery
Follow these instructions to insert the NP45 Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery into the battery compartment. If the battery is already installed, make sure to power off the camera before removing and inserting a recharged or new battery. Please read “Battery Information” before inserting/removing battery.
1. If the battery is already installed, make sure to power off the camera before removing and inserting a recharged or new battery.
2. Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the camera.

3. Insert the battery into the compartment with the terminal facing inside the camera.
4. Close the battery compartment.

Inserting an SD/SDHC Memory Card
Expand your camera’s storage by using SD or SDHC memory cards.
1. Open the SD card compartment at the bottom of the camera.
2. Insert the SD/SDHC card into the memory card slot with the metallic contacts facing the front side of the camera.
3. Push the SD/SDHC card into the memory slot until it clicks into place.
4. Close the SD card compartment.

- To remove the SD/SDHC card
1. Open the battery compartment.
2. Gently push the card until it clicks and pops out.
3. Pull out the card carefully.

Charging the battery
CHARGE
The battery that comes along with your package is not fully charged. You need to charge the battery before using the camera.
1. Insert the battery into the battery charger.
2. Connect the battery charger to the adaptor.
3. Plug the adaptor to the main outlet.
Please charge the battery at least 2.5 hours for the initial use. Beyond the initial use, please charge your battery until the LED indicator on your charger turns green.

Initial Settings
You will be prompted to set up the language and the date and time when
the camera is turned on for the rst time.
Setting the Language
1. Press , , or to move through the selection.
2. Select a language, and then press
to apply.

Using the Function Menu
The “ ” is used to enter the My Menu mode for a quick setup of the latest six shooting/scene modes that were selected.
Press to launch the My Menu mode.
Press again to close the menu.
The My Menu options bar (as shown in the image to the right) displays
the last six shooting/scene modes that were selected.
The Menu bar (as shown in the image to the right) displays the available options for each selected shooting/scene mode.

Modes
Your camera has three modes:
Shooting mode
Set to Shooting mode to capture images and record audio clips.
Shooting mode can be further set to mode options like auto and scene
selection modes.
Video Record mode
Set to Video Record mode to record videos.
Playback mode
Set to Playback mode to view or edit photos, review video and audio clips.

Shooting Menu
If you are in shooting mode, you can access the Shooting menu simply by
pressing the button on your camera.
When the menu is displayed, use the 4-way navigation control and the button to move through menu selections and apply your desired settings. To close the menu anytime, press the menu button again.
The Shooting menu allows you to change modes, and setup other capture settings.

Using Setup Menu
You can access the Setup menu whether you are in Shooting or Playback
mode. The Setup menu allows you to congure general camera settings.

Getting Help
Should you have a technical support question or your HP Digital Camera require service within the warranty period, please contact the original point of purchase or an authorized HP reseller in your country. If service is not available at those locations, please contact an HP Branded Product warranty agent from the support contact list provided below. A service agent will work with you to troubleshoot your issue and if necessary, issue a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number in order to replace your HP Branded Product. For warranty claims, you will be required to provide a copy of your original dated sales receipt as proof of purchase and the issued RMA number. You will be responsible for shipping charges when shipping the product to the service center. The service agent will provide you with an address and you will also be responsible for any shipping charges to the warranty service center. Once your product is received by this service center, a replacement unit will be shipped back to you typically within 5 business days.

Mise en route
Fixer la lanière
Suivez ces instructions pour xer la lanière à votre nouvel appareil photo
et mieux le protéger:
1. Insérez la boucle courte de la
lanière dans l’œillet de lanière.
2. Passez la grande boucle de la
lanière dans la petite boucle et serrez en tirant pour fixer la lanière à
l’appareil photo.
Installer la batterie
Suivez ces instructions pour insérer la batterie NP45 Lithium-ion (Li-ion)
dans le compartiment de batterie. Si la batterie est déjà installée, prenez
soin d’éteindre l’appareil photo avant d’enlever et d’installer une batterie rechargée ou neuve. Veuillez lire « Informations sur la batterie » avant d’installer/retirer la batterie.

Insérer une carte mémoire SD/SDHC
Etendez l’espace de stockage de votre appareil photo en utilisant des cartes mémoire SD ou SDHC.
1. Ouvrez le compartiment de la carte SD situé sous l’appareil photo.
2. Insérez la carte SD/SDHC dans le logement de la carte mémoire avec les contacts métalliques orientés vers l’avant de l’appareil photo.
3. Insérez la carte SD/SDHC dans le logement pour carte mémoire jusqu’à ce qu’elle se clique en place.
4. Fermez le compartiment de la carte SD.
