DEMA DIVERTER VALVE

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
The Diverter Valve is designed to mount to a faucet and divert the flow of water to a DEMA Blend Center.
Model 591 uses a ½” barb and clamp to connect to DEMA 44-3-6LFC garden hose.
Model 591-2 uses a male garden hose fitting to connect to DEMA 44-3-6 garden hose.

2. INSTALLATION:
For mounting onto externa l aerator threads, insert 1/16” rubber washers into valve body and screw
directly onto faucet. Do not use faucet adapter.

For garden hose threads, screw faucet adapter to valve body after inserting rubber washers, then insert
1/8” rubber washers into faucet adapter. Screw onto faucet.
For all other thread types, see page 2 for proper adapter to use. Slip end of hose over barb on valve,
secure with hose clamp. Connect male fitting on hose to the water inlet of the Blend Center.
3. OPERATION:
Turn on water supply and pull out knob (See figure 1). Water will instantly start to flow through the
hose and into the Blend Center. When the water supply is turned off, the diverter valve will reset
itself. The next time the water is turned on, the valve will remain off until it is activated again.
NOTE: Some water will come out the bottom of the diverter valve to provide a visual

1. Low water pressure. At least 15 psi is required.
2. Lime deposits in water passages. Remove diverter valve body and soak in deliming solution.

operation. Many municipalities require this feature in their plumbing codes.
NOTE: When servicing unit, be sure that replacement parts have been installed
according to the drawing.

WARRANTY: DEMA products are war ranted against defective material and workmanship under normal use
and service for one year from the date of manufacture. This limited warranty does not apply to
any products which have a normal life shorter than one year or failure and damage caused by
chemicals, corrosion, improper voltage supply, physical abuse, or misapplication. Rubber and
synthetic rubber parts such as “o”- rings, diaphragms, squeeze tubing and gaskets are
considered expendable and are not covered under warranty. This warranty is extended only to
the original buyer of DEMA products. If products are altered or repaired without prior
approval of DEMA, t h is war ranty wi ll be voi d.
Defective units or parts should be returned to the factory with transportation prepaid. If
inspection shows them to be defective, they will be repaired or replaced without charge,
