GENERAL USE

The H200 amplifier is switched on with the power button in the middle of the front panel. A light in the display indicates it is switched on.

Source Selector. The input source selector knob is on the left-hand side of the front panel. The available source selections are Home Theater, Aux, Balanced and CD. Two letters in the left-hand side of the display will show the selected input source: ht is Home Theater, Au is Aux, ba is Balanced and cd is of course CD.

The default input when switching on the H200 is always the balanced input, indicating that Hegel recommends using the balanced input to get the best sound possible.

Volume. The volume control knob is on the right-hand side of the front panel, and the volume level is indicated by a number between 0 and 99 in the right-hand side of the display. The default volume setting after switching on the H200 is always 30. The startup volume level will gently be faded up to 30, to give you an audible indication there is sound through the amplifier.

The volume level can be adjusted by turning the volume knob up or down, or by using the VOL+ and VOLknobs on the RC2 remote control. The volume can be adjusted from the RC2 remote control in two different ways. By pressing the volume knobs shortly the volume level will go one step up or one step down. By holding the volume knob down the volume level will first be adjusted automatically at a slow speed for about 3 seconds and will then be adjusted automatically at a higher speed.
