Requirements
• The light control requires 120-volts AC.
• This fixture is designed for wall mounting only.
• If you want to use Manual Override, the control must be wired through a switch.
Some codes require installation by a qualified
electrician.
• This product is intended for use with the enclosed gasket and with a junction box marked for use in wet locations.
• The backplate has knockouts so the sensor can be mounted on most junction boxes.
• In some applications a universal adaptor plate may be needed. Adaptors are available at Home Centers and Electrical Supply Stores.
TEST
Put ON-TIME switch on the sensor bottom to TEST and the Dual-
Brite® switch OFF.
Put the ON-TIME switch in the 1, 5, or 20 minute position.
Manual mode only works at night because daylight returns the sensor to AUTO.
Flip the light switch off for one second then back on to toggle between AUTO and MANUAL MODE.
Manual mode works only with the ON-TIME switch in the 1, 5, or 20 position.

DualBrite® TIMER
Light comes on half bright for selected time after dusk (Off, 3 hr., 6 hr., dusk to dawn). If motion is sensed, the light turns on full bright for the ON-TIME (1, 5, or 20 minutes) then returns to dim mode.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Risk of fire. This fixture is designed for wall mounting only. DO NOT install on a ceiling or soffit.
For easy installation, select an existing light with a wall switch for replacement.
Mount the Light Control
Align the light control cover plate and cover plate
gasket and the junction box. Insert and tighten the mounting screws.
If not installed on a weatherproof box or if an adaptor
plate is used, caulk the wall plate and mounting surface with silicone weather sealant.
Attach the lamp arm to
the backplate arm and secure with the long bolt.
Note: When tightening the arm screw, pull on the wires to make sure the wires are not pinched by the joint.
❒ Drill out the holes if needed
to mount the backplate to the junction box.
Wire the Light Control
WARNING: Turn power off at circuit breaker
or fuse.
Remove the existing light fixture. The S-hook can be used to hold the fixture while
wiring. The small end of the hook can be inserted into a hole in the junction box. The large end goes around the “neck” of the fixture.
Route the light control’s wires through the large
hole in the gasket.
Twist the junction box wires and fixture wires together
as shown. Secure with a wire connector.

MOUNT HORIZONTALLY
The halogen light must be
mounted horizontally (+/- 4°).
Bulb Installation and Re-lamping
When re-lamping, turn power off and let the fixture
cool.
CAUTION to avoid fire or burn hazards:
• Allow fixture to cool before touching. The bulb and fixture operate at high temperatures.
• Keep fixture at least 2" (51 mm) from combustible materials. Do not aim at objects closer than 3 feet (1 m).
• Re-lamp with type T halogen, 500 W max., 120 VAC lamp only.
❒ Remove glass cover and remove the old bulb by
pushing the bulb towards the right until the left side of the bulb is clear of the left socket.
To insert the new bulb, push the bulb into the right
socket so the bulb fits completely into the left socket.
Check that the bulb is seated properly. Re-install the glass cover.
For proper operation and safety, the light fixture must be above the sensor and the sensor head must be rotated so that the controls are on the bottom.

Bottom of Sensor
Avoid aiming the sensor at:
• Objects that change temperature rapidly, such as
heating vents and air conditioners. These heat sources could cause false triggering.
• Areas where pets or traffic may trigger the control.
Nearby large, light-colored objects reflecting light
may trigger the shut-off feature. Do not point other lights at the sensor.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Light switch is turned off.
2. Light is loose or burned out.
3. Fuse is blown or circuit breaker is turned off.
4. Daylight turn-off is in effect (recheck after dark).
5. Incorrect circuit wiring, if this is a new installation.
6. Re-aim the sensor to cover desired area.
1. Light control may be installed in a relatively dark location.
2. Light control is in Test. (Set control
switch to an ON-TIME position.)
1.
Light control may be sensing small animals or automobile traffic (re-aim sensor).
2. Sensitivity is set too high. (Reduce
sensitivity.)
3. DualBrite® Timer is on.
1.
Sensor is in a relatively dark location. (Relo-
cate sensor, or use 3 hr or 6 hr setting.)
SYMPTOM Light stays on
continuously.
Light flashes on and off.
Lig ht f lashes once, then stays off in Manual Mode.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. The lamp is positioned too close to the sensor or pointed at nearby objects that cause heat to trigger the sensor.
(Reposition the lamp away from the sensor or nearby objects.)
2. Sensor is pointed toward a heat source like an air vent, dryer vent, or brightly-painted heat-reflective surface. (Reposition sensor.)
3. Light control is in Manual Mode.
(Switch to Auto.)
1.
Heat or light from the lamp may be turning the light control on and off. (Reposition the
lamp away from the sensor.)
2. Heat being reflected from other objects may be affecting the sensor.
(Reposition sensor.)
3. Light control is in the Test mode and warming up. (Flashing is normal under
these conditions. Turn Boost off.)
1. Sensor is detecting its own light. (Reposition lamp to keep area below the sensor relatively dark.)
