SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark work areas invite accidents.
2. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating tools and equipment. Do not assemble or use this product while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating tools and equipment may result in serious personal injury.
3. Wear eye protection. Wear ANSI-approved safety impact goggles when
asembling this product.

4. Do not force the Pintle Hook. Use the correct product for your application. The correct product will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed. NEVER attempt to exceed the maximum weight capacity of the
Pintle Hook (5 Tons).
5. Check for any condition that may negatively affect the Pintle Hook’s operation. If damaged, have the Hook replaced before using. Do not use
damaged products. Tag damaged products “Do not use” until repaired.
6. This Pintle Hook is designed for use
95407 Pintle Mount.
7. Industrial applications must follow OSHA requirements.
8. Maintain labels and nameplates on the Pintle Hook. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replace­ment.
9. Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which this product was designed. Do not use small products to do the work of larger indus­trial products. Do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not in­tended.
10. Product service must be performed only by qualified service technician. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in
a risk of injury.
11. When servicing the Pintle Hook, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow maintenance instructions
may create a risk of personal injury.

12. Do not allow children to play with this product.
13. Prior to using this product, make sure to read and understand all instruc-
tions and safety precautions as outlined in the service manuals for the towing vehicle and trailer (or object) being towed. Make sure the towing
vehicle is capable of towing the trailer and its payload. Make sure the hitch receiver on the towing vehicle is capable of towing the trailer and its payload. The towing capacity of the hitch receiver is typically stamped on the receiver.
14. WARNING! The Bolts, Lock Washers, and Nuts (not included) used to
mount the Pintle Hook to the Pintle Mount (not included) MUST be rated a minimum Grade #8 hardness. Do not attempt to use lesser grade mounting hardware.

UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure all the parts shown in the Parts List on page 6 are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the front cover of this manual as soon as possible.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
To Attach The Pintle Hook To A Pintle Mount:
1. NOTE: The Pintle Hook is designed
only
for use with the Harbor Freight Tools
Model 95407 Pintle Mount (sold separately). (See Figure A.)
2. The Pintle Mount is designed to allow for adjusting the height of the mounted Pintle Hook. To adjust the height, align the four mounting holes in the Pintle Hook with either the four top mounting holes in the Pintle Mount or the four bottom holes in the Pintle Mount. (See Figure A.)
3. Once the height of the Pintle Hook is determined, secure the Pintle Hook to the Pintle Mount, using the four Grade #8 Bolts, four Lock Washers, and four Nuts provided with the Pintle Mount. CAUTION: Make sure the four Nuts are
firmly
tightened onto the four Bolts. (See Figure A.)

To Attach The Pintle Mount And Pintle Hook To A Vehicle’s Hitch Receiver:
1. Insert the Pintle Mount into a 2” x 2” vehicle hitch receiver (not included).
(See Figure A.)
2. Align the hitch pin hole in the Pintle Mount with the hitch pin hole in the vehicle hitch receiver. (See Figure A.)
3. Secure the Pintle Mount and Pintle Hook to the vehicle hitch receiver by inserting a hitch pin (not included) through the hitch pin holes of the Pintle Mount and vehicle hitch receiver. Then, insert a safety pin (not included) through the open­ing in the hitch pin. (See Figure A.)
OPERATNG INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open the Latch (1) by removing the Safety Pin (2) and Lifting Lock (3).
(See Figure B.)
2. Position the trailer’s drawbar eye (not included) over the Horn (4) of the Pintle Hook and lower into place. (See Figure B.)
3. Push the Latch (1) closed, lower the Lifting Lock (3) and insert the Safety Pin (2). (See Figure B.)

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING
1. CAUTION! Make sure to wear ANSI-approved safety impact goggles be­fore performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning of the Pintle Hook.
2. Before each use: Inspect the general condition of the Pintle Hook. Check for

damaged or loose parts, and any other condition that may affect this product’s safe operation. If a problem occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment.
3. To clean: Use a clean, soft, damp cloth, and mild detergent. Do not use sol- vents.
4. CAUTION! All maintenance, service, and repairs not discussed in this manual should only be performed by a qualified service technician.

Harbor Freight Tools Co. makes every effort to assure that its products meet high quality and durability standards, and warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of ninety days from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, or to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or consequential damages arising from the use of our product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you. THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.
To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
