them handle the Hang Glider without adult supervision.
4.Store idle equipment. When not in use, products must be stored in a dry location to
inhibit rust. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children.
5.Use the right product for the job. Do not attempt to force a small product to do the
work of a larger industrial product. There are certain applications for which this product
was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was
intended. Do not modify this product and do not use this product for a purpose for
which it was not intended.
6.Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in
moving parts. Protective, electrically nonconductive clothes and nonskid footwear are
recommended when flying the Glider. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long
hair.
10.Disconnect power. When not charging the Hang Glider, disconnect the charger from
the Hang Glider.
11.Avoid unintentional starting. Be sure the switch is in the Off position when not in
use.
12.Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate any tool
when you are tired.
13.Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged
should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for alignment and binding of moving parts; any broken parts
or mounting fixtures; and any other condition that may affect proper operation. Any part
that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified technician. Do
not use the Hang Glider if the switch does not turn On and Off properly.
14.Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact with grounded surfaces such as
pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerator enclosures.
15.Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use accessories
intended for use with this product. Approved accessories are available from Harbor
Freight Tools.
16.Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning
labels if taking prescription medicine to determine if your judgment or reflexes are
impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the product.
17.Maintenance. For your safety, service and maintenance should be performed
regularly by a qualified technician.
Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual
cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be
built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
Unpacking
When unpacking, check to make sure the parts listed on page 7 are included. If any parts
are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this
manual as soon as possible.
1. Do not try to catch the Hang Glider while it is in flight.
2. Do not fly the Hang Glider if wind speeds excel 10 MPH.
3. Do not fly the Hang Glider near people, animals, or power lines.
4. Children shouldn’t fly the Hang Glider or charge the Hang Glider without adult supervision.
Assembly
Refer to the Assembly Drawing on page 8.
1. Remove the ring that binds the Sail (2) together and open the Sail (2).
2. Lock the Cross Beams (7) to the Beam
Quick Locks (10) as shown in section two
of the Assembly Drawing, and on FIGURE
1 below.
FIGURE 1
3. Insert the Nose Gear (16) and the Main Gear
(17) into the Nose and Main Gear Sockets
(18). Refer to Section 4 of the Assembly
Drawing, and FIGURE 2 below.
4. Insert the Sail Adjustment Wires (5) into the
middle Sail Adjustment Holes (3) on the
Cross Beam (7). Refer to Section 3 of the
Assembly Drawing, and FIGURE 3 on page
5. Use the Wing Angle Guide (FIGURE 4) to check
the correct wing angle. Cut it out and place it as
shown in FIGURE 4. Place the Wing Angle Guide
so that the left side of the cutout fits along the rear
of the body, and the top of the cutout fits flush up
against the Sail Center Beam (8). If it doesn’t fit
flush, use the Adjust Wire to set the
proper angle.

as shown in Section 1 of the Assembly Drawing.
Preflight Test (non-motorized)
1. Hold the Hang Glider mostly level, with the front nose of the Sail (2) pointed a little upward.
2. Firmly hand-launch the Hang Glider several times to check its flight path. If it glides smoothly
in a straight line, the Sail (2) is correctly adjusted. If it climbs and then dives, move the Sail
Adjustment Wires (5) into the uppermost Sail Adjustment Holes (3) as shown in FIGURE 3
above. If the Hang Glider dives steeply, put the Sail Adjustment Wires (5) into the lower
Sail Adjustment Holes (3) as shown in FIGURE 3 above.
Note: For your reference, FIGURE 3 above shows the Sail Adjustment Wires (5) in the lower
Preparing the Charger (23)
Note: Use the enclosed Phillips screwdriver to open and close the battery compartment on
the Charger (23).
1. Insert four “AA” batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the Charger (23),
making sure the (+) and (-) polarity marks on the “AA” batteries (not included) line up with
the (+) and (-) polarity marks in the battery compartment of the Charger (23).
First Motorized Test Flight
Note: Fly the Hang Glider in an open area, free of obstructions (especially phone and power
wires), and fly on a calm day.
1. Plug the Charging Plug (22) into the Battery Charger Socket (21) on the underside of the
Hang Glider. See Section 4 of the Assembly Drawing, and FIGURE 2 on page 4. Hold the
Charge Button on the Charger (23) for only 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, release the
Charge Button and disconnect the Charging Plug (22) from the Battery Charger Socket
(21).
Note: The Charger Button must be continually pressed while charging.
2. Holding the Hang Glider so that the Propeller (14) does not come in contact with yourself,
turn the Switch (20) on the underside of the Hang Glider to “On” (see FIGURE 2), and
launch the Hang Glider firmly as you did in the preflight test (see page 5). The Hang Glider
should fly with a small climb and in a circle. When it lands, turn off the Switch (20). If the
circle is too large, readjust the Sail Adjustment Wire (5) on the side of the Cross Beams (7),
up one adjustment hole. See FIGURE 3 on page 5.
Never fly in winds above 10 MPH.
Full Flights
1. Plug the Charging Plug (22) into the Battery Charger Socket (21) on the underside of the
Hang Glider. See Section 4 of the Assembly Drawing, and FIGURE 2 on page 4. Hold the
Charge Button on the Charger (23) for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, release the Charge
Button and disconnect the Charging Plug (22) from the Battery Charger Socket (21).
WARNING! NEVER charge the batteries longer than 30 seconds. Overcharging can
cause overheating, resulting in PERSONAL INJURY or property damage.
Battery (19) becoming overly hot to the touch, (on the underside of the Hang Glider you
can see and feel the NiCd Battery (19). See FIGURE 2)) immediately disconnect the
Charging Plug (22).
Note: Try to run down your Hang Glider NiCd Battery (19) as completely as possible before
recharging. This will increase the life of your NiCd Battery (19).
2. Holding the Hang Glider so that the Propeller (14) does not come in contact with yourself,
turn the Switch (20) on the underside of the Hang Glider to “On” (see FIGURE 2), and
launch the Hang Glider firmly. When it lands, turn off the Switch (20).
Flight Patterns
The Sail Adjustment Holes (3) allow you to adjust the climb rate and make circular flights.
Having the Sail Adjustment Wires (5) in opposite holes (one side higher than the other) will
determine in which direction of a circle the Hang Glider will fly in. If you move both of the Sail
Adjustment Wires (5) into lower or higher holes (Sail Adjustment Holes (5)), it will affect the
angle of climb. Make sure you have a large, clear area as you experiment with Flight
Patterns. Winds can take the Hang Glider a considerable distance.
