1. Check for damaged parts. Before using this product, carefully check that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect the operation of this product. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.
2. Replacement parts and accessories: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this product. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.
3. Maintain this product with care. K eep this product clean and dry for better performance. Service and maintenance should be performed regularly by a qualified technician.
4. Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which this product was designed. It will do the job better at the capacity for which it was intended. Do not modify this product, and do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended.
5. Maintain labels and nameplates on this product. These carry important information. If unreadable or miss­ing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
6. To avoid damage to the Digital Measuring Multi-Tool, do not expose it to rain or wet conditions.
7. W ARNING! People with pacemakers should consult with their physician(s) before using this product. Operation of electrically powered products in close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference or failure of the pacemaker.

The Time Display Mode :
1. Normally, the Time Display Mode is the
default
mode when the Measuring Multi-
Tool is on. (See Figure B.)
2. The Clock is operational when the
last digit
is counting the seconds.
(See Figure B.)
3. When the Measuring Multi-Tool is
not
in the Time Display Mode, and if no Key is pressed or measurement task
performed within two minutes, the Measuring Multi-Tool will return to the default mode automatically.
(See Figure B.)
4. If the Measuring Multi-Tool is
not
in the default mode, pressing the “=” Key located on the Keyboard several times
will also change it to the Time Display Mode. (See Figure A.)
5. Prior to using the Measuring Multi-Tool, you must reset the Time and Time Zone Code according to the
nearest city
to you as shown below. (See Figure C.)

To Set The Time Zone Code: (see above table)
1. Press RESET once and “12:00 AM Honolulu” Time will be displayed on the Time Display Mode. NOTE: If you are in a different Time Zone, input the relevant Code (number or symbol) which you can find on the Time Zone Code Table. Then, press CE to confirm. The Measuring Multi-Tool will automatically switch to your Time Zone.

3. Press the “6” Key on the Keyboard and the Time Display Mode will read as follows:

4. Press the CE Key to confirm. The Time Display Mode will read as follows: (See Figure F.)

6. Input “08 00 15” and the Time Display Mode will show the correct time in Hong Kong as follows: (See

7. Once the Time is set, just press the Key with the corresponding Code (number or symbol) on it in normal Time Display Mode to view the corresponding time of a city listed in Figure C. (See Figure C.)
2. While the Measuring Multi-Tool is in the normal Time Display Mode, press the CE Key to check the times of other cities shown in Figure C. For example, to check the time in Hong Kong press RESET and the Time Display Mode will read as follows. (See Figure D.)
To Set The Time:
1. Time setting follows the Time Zone setting. Press “=” on the Keyboard

times to enter the Time Setting
Mode, and input the correct time in the
following order;
“hour-minutes-seconds”. While in the Time Setting Mode, press the CE Key to switch between AM and PM.
T
he Calculator Mode:
1. While in the normal Time Display Mode, press the “=” Key on the Keyboard
once
to enter the Calculator Mode. The Calculator is now awaiting input. When not in normal Time Display Mode, you can enter the Calculator Mode by pressing the “=” Key on the Keyboard several times to switch the menu. (See Figure I.)

The Countdown Mode:
1. Press the “=” Key on the Keyboard
twice
in the normal Time Display Mode or several times when not in the Time Display Mode to enter the Countdown Mode.

2. The first “0” will be flashing now. Set the countdown time by inputting numbers in the following format; “hour­minutes-seconds”. After setting the countdown time, press CE
once
to start it or press CE
twice
to switch between start and stop. When it counts down to “0”, the Time Display Mode will flash “00-00-00”. (See Figure
J.)

The Temperature Measurement Mode:
1. In the normal Time Display Mode, press the “=” Key on the Keyboard
three
times and the Time Display
Mode will read as follows: (See Figure K.)

2. That means the present air temperature is 26.2 C. Press CE to switch between C and F. When not in normal Time Display Mode, enter the Tempera­ture Measurement Mode by pressing the “=” Key on the Keyboard several times to switch the menu. (See
Figure K.)

The Map Distance Measurement Mode:
1. The
default
scale of the Measurer is 1:1000000 (note: this scale is without unit). If the map to be measured is not
in this scale, an appropriate scale should be set. If the scale is 1:1000, then input1000 for setting the scale.
2. On some older maps, there may be a different kind of scale format with a unit such as 1” = 10 miles. If so, then it will be necessary to change miles into inches (note: 1 mile = 63359.9”). First change 10 miles into 633599”. Then, set the proper scale as 1:633599.
3. Press the Scale Key, and the Time Display Mode will read as follows:

4. Input the actual figure on the map according to the map’s scale, and press the “=” Key on the Keyboard to confirm the scale setting. All measurements will now be based on this scale. Return to the defaultscale by pressing RESET.
5. To measure the distance, press MEASURE
once
and the Time Display Mode will
read as follows: (See Figure M.)

6. Press CE to switch between KM and MILE. Place the Measuring Gear Wheel on the start point on the map. Push the Measuring Multi-Tool along the route from the start point to the end of the route.
NOTE: Press down on the Measuring Multi-Tool with
some force to make sure the Measuring Gear Wheel rolls along the entire route. (See Figure A.)
7. When the Measuring Gear Wheel meets the end of the route on the map, the number displayed on the Time Display Mode is the actual distance. (See Figure M.)
The Light Mode:
1. Press the Light Switch b utton on to turn on and turn off the Light. (See Figure A.)
The Compass:
1. Turn and hold the Measuring Multi-Tool upside down to read the Compass.
The Batteries:
1. Two G13-A or LR-44 type Batteries will power the Measuring Multi-Tool.
2. After changing the Batteries, you must press RESET and set the time again.
INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING
1. Before each use, inspect the general condition of the Measuring Multi-Tool. Check for any condition that may affect the proper operation of the product. If a problem occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment.
2. To change the two Batteries, remove the Battery Door. Remove the old Batteries. Insert the new Batteries. Then, replace the Battery Door. (See Figure A.)
3. When cleaning, wipe the Measuring Multi-Tool with a dry, clean cloth, taking care not to accidentally press the Keys on the Keyboard. Do not immerse this product in liquids.
