You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly instructions,
operating and maintenance procedures, parts list and diagram. Keep your invoice with this
manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front cover. Keep the manual and
invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.
NOTICE: This is an astronomical telescope. The image as viewed is inverted. It is not meant for use as a
spotting scope.
Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1.Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2.Observe work area conditions. Don’t expose to rain.
3.Keep children away. Do not let them handle the Telescope without adult
supervision.
4.Store idle equipment. When not in use, products must be stored in a dry location to
inhibit rust. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children.
5.Use the right product for the job. Do not attempt to force a small product to do the
work of a larger industrial product. There are certain applications for which this
product was designed. Do not modify this product and do not use this product for a
purpose for which it was not intended.
6.Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
7.Maintain products with care. Keep products clean for better and safer
performance. Follow instructions for changing accessories. The Telescope must be
kept clean, dry, and free from oil and grease at all times.
8.Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate any
product when you are tired.

9.Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears
damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and
perform its intended function. Check for alignment and binding of moving parts; any
broken parts or mounting fixtures; and any other condition that may affect proper
operation. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by a
qualified technician.
10.Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use accessories
intended for use with this products. Approved accessories are available from Harbor
Freight Tools.
11.Do not operate tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning
labels if taking prescription medicine to determine if your judgment or reflexes are
impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the Telescope.
12.Maintenance. For your safety, service and maintenance should be performed
regularly by a qualified technician.
13. Observe viewing conditions. Never look directly at the sun with the Telescope.
Looking at the sun may cause permanent eye damage.
Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual
cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be under-
stood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be
built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
Unpacking
When unpacking, check to make sure the parts listed on page 5 are included. If any parts
are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this
manual as soon as possible.
Maintenance
1. Clean the lenses with professional lens paper. Never touch the lens with your fingers or
any other material. Lenses scratch easily.
2. Always keep the Objective Cover and the Spotting Scope Covers on when not in use.
3. Store the Telescope in a dry , chemical free location. Never store the Telescope in the
direct sunlight or it may be permanently damaged.
4. Wipe down the Telescope body with a lint free cloth.

Assembly
1. Thread the Body (1) to the Tripod (6) using the Body Connecting Screw (10).
See FIGURE 1.

2. Attach the Spotting Scope Bracket (13) to the Body (1) with the two Chrome Nuts. Make
sure the longer end of the Spotting Scope (2) is pointed toward the front of the Telescope.
Refer to the Assembly Drawing on page 5.
3. Attach the Diagonal Eyepiece Holder (3) to the Focus Tube (11) by inserting and tightening
the Diagonal Screw (14) to securely hold it in place. Refer to the Assembly Drawing on page
5.
4. Place either one of the Eyepieces (7) (50X or 100X) into the Diagonal Eyepiece Holder (3),
and tighten the Eyepiece Screw (12).
Operation
WARNING! NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN WITH THE TELESCOPE.
LOOKING AT THE SUN CAN CAUSE PERMANENT EYE DAMAGE.
1. Place the Telescope on a stable platform or on flat, level ground.
2. Remove the Objective Cover (9) and Spotting Scope Covers and set aside.
3. Turn the Angle/Bearing Adjusting Lever (5) counterclockwise to loosen it and allow the
Telescope to be angled to the desired location. Look through the Spotting Scope (2) to find
the general area you wish to view. Tighten the Angle/Bearing Adjusting Lever (5) when you
determine you are in the correct viewing area.
4. Look through the Eyepiece (7) and turn the Focus Knob (4) very slowly and gently to focus
in an object. Be very patient while attempting to focus in objects in the night sky.
Note: This Telescope will not view an object clearly unless it is a minimum of 150 feet away.
5. Replace the Objective Cover (9) and Spotting Scope Covers when finished.
