OPENING THE BOTTLE
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Expose the cork by cutting away the foil wrap with the Foil Cutter (#28). Put the Foil Cutter over the top of the bottle and twist the cutter around a few times. The blades in the Foil Cutter will cut the entire circumference of the foil. See Figure B. Note: Wine Bottles may have lead foil caps. Lead is a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. (California Health & Safety Code 25249.5, et seq.)
2. Extend the long arm of the Gear Wheel Handle (#1) so that the Spiral-bit (#8) is up inside the mechanism (not down between the handles) and the Left and Right Handles (#20) and the Gear Wheel Handle are in a “free drop” position. See Figure C.
3. Hold the Aluminum Cork Screw over the bottle. Put the Handles (#20) around the neck of the bottle. Firmly grip the two Handles (#20) with one hand. This will position the Spiralbit (#8) over the center of the cork. If not centered, repeat steps until you have good alignment. See Figure C.
4. Insert the Spiral-bit (#8) into the cork while holding the grip handle tightly, lift the Gear Wheel Handle (#1) up and then over the top of the bottle. See Figure C.

5. Before you remove the cork from the bottle, make sure that the Gear Wheel Handle (#1) is lifted UP AND OVER the top of the bottle completely. Lift the Gear Wheel Handle up and over the top of the bottle in a REVERSE motion. This will release the cork from the bottle in one easy sweep. Loosen your grip on the Handles gently and slowly and carefully remove the bottle from their grip. Make sure to hold the bottle with your other hand while you release the Handles so you do not spill or drop the bottle.

6. To remove the cork, spread the Handles apart slightly while bringing the Gear Wheel Handles up and over. This positions the cork up between the two Handles (#20). Squeeze the two Handles together around the cork and keep it in place while the Spiral-bit (#8) releases from the cork.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
1. The Aluminum Cork Screw is designed to easily remove corks. Use the Cork Screw slowly as many corks are fragile.
2. Clean with a damp cloth. Never submerge in water as this will damage the mechanism. An extra Spiral-bit (#8) is included for future use. You can replace the Spiral-bit by unscrewing the Cover (#2), removing the old Spiral-bit and inserting the replacement. Tighten Cover firmly before use. See Figure A page 3.
3. A convenient Pedestal is included to hold your Aluminum Cork Screw neatly on your bar or counter top. See Figure D.
