You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly
instructions, operating and maintenance procedures, parts list and diagram. Keep
your invoice with this manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front
cover. Keep the manual and invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.
SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
1. KEEP PRODUCT USAGE AREA CLEAN. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM PRODUCT USAGE AREA. Do not allow children
to handle this product unsupervised.
3. TO AVOID RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY, EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, FIRE AND
SHOCK, make sure your work area is free of damp, wet or rainy conditions.
4. USE EYE PROTECTION. NEVER look directly at the SUN unless you have the
proper approved filters (not included).
5. MAKE SURE all clamps, lock and bolts are tight.
6. CHECK FOR DAMAGED PARTS. Before using this product, carefully check that it
will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged parts and
any other conditions that may affect its operation. Replace or repair damaged or
worn parts immediately.

7. DO NOT OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
8. REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES. When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this product. Approved
accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools.
9. MAINTAINING PRODUCT. This is a delicate/precision instrument. Keep clean and dry.
Use approved non-abrasive Lens Cleaner. Repairs should be done only by a qualified
optical technician.
10. USE THE RIGHT PRODUCT FOR THE RIGHT JOB. There are certain applications
for which this product was designed. Changeable magnification allows comfortable
observation of moving objects. Perfect for viewing wildlife and sporting events. It will do
the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do not modify this tool
and do not use this tool for any purpose other than which it was intended.
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure all parts shown on the Parts List (page #5) are included.
If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the
cover of this manual as soon as possible.

How to Assemble Spotting Scope:
1. Remove the Spotting Scope (#1) and Tripod (#2) from Carrying Case (#9). Attach Spotting
Scope to the Tripod (#2), tightening the Knobs (#8A & #8B). Adjust height and tighten
knob (#8D).

2. Flip up Sight Finder (#7). See Figure 1.

3. The angle for using the Spotting Scope is adjusted by tightening Knob (#8C) after finding the
desired position for viewing. See Figure 2.
4. For storage the Sun Shade (#5) is reversed to conserve space in the Carring Case (#9).
REMOVE Sun Shade and Large Lens Cap (#4). See Figure 2.
5. Reverse Sun Shade (#5) and replace over Lens at the end of the Spotting Scope (#1). Twist
Sun Shade until “red dots” line up with “visual reference point”. See Figure 3.

5. Remove Small Eye Piece Cover (#6) from Eye Piece (#10) and focus Eye Piece until you
can see clearly. Adjust the lens magnification (30x or 60x) by turning the dial located on the
Eye Piece.
6. Store Spotting Scope (#1) in Carrying Case (#9). Tripod (#2) collapses and can be placed
in side zipper compartment of Carrying Case. Remove Sun Shade (#5). Flip around
and place over Lens. Replace Large Lens Cap (#4) to avoid scratches. Place Small Eye
Piece Cover (#6) over Eye Piece (#3) and place Spotting Scope (#1) in large zipper compartment of Carrying Case. Store in safe, dry place as this is a delicate precision instrument.
1. For better and safer performance, keep all parts of this product clean and dry at
all times.
