You will need the manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly instructions, operating and maintenance procedures, parts list and diagram. Keep your invoice with this manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front cover. Keep the manual and invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.
Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. Observe work area conditions. Don’t expose to rain. Keep work area well lighted, use alternate lighting, if possible, when changing bulbs. Do not use in the presence of flammable gases or liquids. Never use this product around live open wiring.
3. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not let them handle this product.
4. Store idle equipment. When not in use, product must be stored in a dry location. Always lock up product and keep out of reach of children.
5. Use the right product for the job. Do not attempt to force a small product or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial product. There are certain applications for which this product was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do not modify this product and do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended.
6. Use eye protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles to protect your eyes if a lightbulb should break while being changed.
7. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

8. Maintain product with care. Keep product clean for better and safer performance. Follow instructions for changing accessories. Inspect periodically and if any part appears worn or damaged, replace this product. The handles must be kept clean, dry, and free from oil and grease at all times.
9. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate this product when you are tired.
10. Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the product.

Unpacking
When unpacking, check to make sure all parts listed on Page 4 are included.
If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this manual.
Operation
Note: Bulbs that have been installed tightly may require that you loosen them by
hand before using this product. Caution: Protect your hands by wearing gloves or wraping the bulb in a cloth, while carefully loosening the bulb.
Numbered parts refer to those listed in the Parts List and Assembly Diagram on Page 4.
1. Disconnect the electrical plug/circuit of the appliance using the bulb you wish to change. Wait until bulb has cooled, if applicable.
2. Thread the appropriate Bulb Changing Accessory onto the end of the Handle [2]. Use the Narrow Attachment Accessory [4] for changing standard incandescent bulbs, the Wide Attachment Accessory [3] for changing floodlight bulbs, and the Suction Cup [5] for changing recessed track lighting bulbs.
3. To adjust the length of the Handle, grip it with one hand above the black Cuff [1] and the other hand below. Twist your upper hand counterclockwise to loosen the Handle, and slide your hands apart until the Handle has reached the desired length. Twist your upper clockwise to tighten the Handle.
4. Slide Attachment Head over the bulb. Turn to loosen the bulb and remove. Caution: Be careful not to touch a hot bulb.

5. Fit a new bulb into the Attachment Head and insert bulb into socket. Tighten bulb in socket, and pull Attachment Head away from bulb.
6. To use the Suction Cup Attachment, attach string to the hole on the edge of the Suction Cup. The string should be a few feet longer than the pole.
7. Caution: Very carefully press the Suction Cup into the center of the bulb until a suction has formed, moistening the Suction Cup beforehand if necessary. Turn to loosen bulb and remove from socket.
8. Press a new bulb into the Suction Cup until a suction forms. Insert bulb into socket and screw into place. Pull on string to release suction.
