Immerse the probe into the solution to be tested. The minimum water level must be approx. of 4½ cm, while the maximum level has not to exceed the indicated hole. If possible, tap the probe to remove any air bubbles that may be trapped inside.
Allow for the reading to stabilize. The LCD displays the ppm reading.

HOLD FUNCTION
To freeze the current measurement on the LCD, press and hold the RANGE/HOLD key for about 3 seconds.
When the hold function is active, the LCD displays alternatively the “HLd” indication and the frozen reading.
Press RANGE to switch from ppm to temperature reading.
Press the ON/OFF key to exit the hold mode and return to normal operation.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
To prolong the battery life, the meter switches itself off after 5 minutes of non-use.
Variations in readings or fading display can indicate weak batteries.
If the batteries are too weak to support proper operations, the LCD displays the message “Eb” and then the meter switches itself off.
Battery replacement must only take place in a nonhazardous area using AAA-type 1.5V, alkaline batteries.
In order to replace run down batteries, simply remove the two screws on the bottom cover and replace the two 1.5V AAA batteries with new ones, paying attention to the correct polarity.
New batteries allow approx. 1000 hours of continuous use (with 1175mA/h batteries).
