Chemische und biologische Sicherheit

GEFAHR

Potenzielle Gefahren bei Kontakt mit chemischen/biologischen Stoffen.
Das Arbeiten mit chemischen Proben, Standards und Reagenzien ist mit

Gefahren verbunden.
Machen Sie sich vor der Arbeit mit den notwendigen Sicherheitsverfahren und
dem richtigen Umgang mit den Chemikalien vertraut und lesen und befolgen Sie
alle einschlägigen Sicherheitsdatenblätter.

Beim normalen Betrieb dieses Geräts kann die Nutzung von
gesundheitsgefährdenden Chemikalien oder biologisch schädlichen
Proben erforderlich sein.

• Beachten Sie vor dem Umgang mit diesen Stoffen alle, auf den

Gebinden der Originallösungen und im Sicherheitsdatenblatt
gedruckten, Gefahrenhinweise und Sicherheitsinformationen.

• Entsorgen Sie sämtliche verbrauchte Lösungen in

Übereinstimmung mit den nationalen Vorschriften und Gesetzen.

• Wählen Sie die Art der Schutzausrüstung entsprechend der

Konzentration und Menge des gefährlichen Stoffs am jeweiligen
Arbeitsplatz.

Inbetriebnahme

Betriebsumgebung

Beachten Sie folgende Punkte, damit das Gerät einwandfrei funktioniert
und somit eine lange Lebensdauer hat.

• Stellen Sie das Gerät sicher auf eine ebene Fläche. Schieben Sie

keine Gegenstände unter das Gerät.

• Die Umgebungstemperatur für Transport, Lagerung und Betrieb

muss +16 bis +29 °C (+61 – +84 °F) betragen.

ACHTUNG

Schützen Sie das Gerät vor extremen Temperaturen durch Heizungen, direkte
Sonneneinstrahlung und andere Hitzequellen.

• Die relative Feuchte muss unter 80 % (ohne Kondensatbildung)

liegen.

• Halten Sie oberhalb und an allen Seiten des Geräts einen Abstand

von mindestens 15 cm ein, damit Luft zirkulieren kann und eine
Überhitzung der elektrischen Teile vermieden wird.

• Benutzen oder lagern Sie das Gerät nicht an extrem staubigen,

feuchten oder nassen Orten.

• Halten Sie die Oberfläche des Geräts, den Küvettenschacht und

sämtliches Zubehör jederzeit sauber und trocken. Entfernen Sie
Spritzer oder verschüttete Stoffe auf oder im Gerät unverzüglich.

WARNUNG

Elektrische Gefahren und Brandgefahr. Verwenden Sie nur das mitgelieferte
Netzkabel.

Nur qualifiziertes Fachpersonal darf unter Einhaltung aller lokal gültigen
Sicherheitsvorschriften, die in diesem Abschnitt des Handbuchs beschriebenen
Arbeiten durchführen.

ACHTUNG

Verwenden Sie ausschließlich eine geerdete Steckdose für den Anschluss dieses
Gerätes an die Stromversorgung.

Wenn Sie nicht sicher sind, ob die Steckdose geerdet ist, so lassen Sie dies durch
einen qualifizierten Elektriker überprüfen.

Der Netzstecker dient neben der Spannungsversorgung auch dazu, das Gerät bei
Bedarf schnell vom Netz zu trennen.

Dies wird bei längerem Nichtgebrauch empfohlen und kann im Falle eines
Fehlers mögliche Gefährdungen verhindern.

Beachten Sie deshalb, dass die Steckdose an die das Gerät angeschlossen ist,
durch jeden Benutzer jederzeit leicht zu erreichen ist.

Verbinden Sie das LUMIStox 300 bei Bedarf mit einem Drucker über die
35 polige parallele (par) Schnittstelle oder über die 9 polige serielle
Schnittstelle (ser) mit einem Computer. Schließen Sie alle Geräte über
die Netzleitungen an die Stromversorgung an. Vergewissern Sie sich,
dass sich die LUMIStox 300 Systemdiskette im Diskettenlaufwerk
befindet. Ist dies nicht der Fall, setzen Sie die entsprechende
Systemdiskette ein.

• Die Systemdiskette muss zum Betrieb des Gerätes eingelegt sein!

• Der Schreibschutz darf nicht aktiviert sein.

• Vor jedem Transport muss die Diskette aus dem Laufwerk entfernt

werden!.

Schalten Sie über die Netzschalter zuerst die Peripheriegeräte, dann
das LUMIStox 300 ein. Mit einer automatischen Anzeigenfolge wie ein
PC startet das LUMIStox 300 bis zur Anzeige <Temp: ___._°C Bitte
warten>.

Schnelleinstieg

1. Drucker oder PC einschalten.

2. Systemdiskette ins LUMIStox 300 einlegen.

3. LUMIStox 300 Messgerät einschalten.

4. LUMIStherm Inkubationsblock einschalten.

5. 30 Minuten “Warmlaufzeit” abwarten.

6. In der Warmlaufzeit :

• Leuchtbakterientest auswählen und Bakterien gemäß der

Arbeitsvorschrift vorbereiten.

• Probe aufsalzen und pH-Wert kontrollieren

• Wenn erforderlich, Verdünnungsreihe der Probe herstellen.

• Weitere Schritte zur Testvorbereitung und Auswertung sind

gemäß der aktuellen Test Arbeitsvorschrift durchzuführen

Test durchführen

1. Evtl. automatische Farbkorrektur einschalten.

2. Am LUMIStox 300 Messgerät den gewünschten Auswertemodus

(GL-Wert oder EC-Wert) oder den verwendeten Test
(z. B. LCK480) auswählen.

3. Die geforderten Voreinstellungen am LUMIStox 300 Messgerät

eingeben.

4. Test gemäß Arbeitsvorschrift und Menüführung des LUMIStox 300

durchführen.

5. Ergebnis ablesen.

6. Küvettenschacht durch Drücken der Funktionstaste Ende

verschließen.

Betrieb des LUMIStox 300 Messgerätes

Wechsel der Sicherung

GEFAHR

Einige Schaltkreise innerhalb dieses Gerätes sind durch Sicherungen gegen
Überspannungen geschützt. Ersetzen Sie diese Sicherungen, zum dauerhaften
Schutz gegen Brandgefahr, nur durch Sicherungen gleichen Typs und Leistung.

GEFAHR

Defekte Sicherungen weisen generell auf ein Problem im Gerät hin. Wenn Fehler
der Sicherung wiederholt auftreten, kontaktieren Sie zwecks Hinweisen zur
Rücksendung zu Reparaturzwecken die Serviceabteilung. Versuchen Sie auf
keinen Fall, das Gerät selbst zu reparieren.

Reinigung von Gerät und Küvetten

VORSICHT

Potenzielle Gefahren durch Klemmen, Verbrennungen und Chemikalien sowie für
die Augen. Das Gerät vor allen Reinigungsarbeiten immer von der
Stromversorgung trennen.

ACHTUNG

Auf keinen Fall dürfen zur Reinigung des Geräts, einschließlich Display und
Zubehörteile, Lösungsmittel wie Terpentin, Aceton oder ähnliche verwendet
werden.

Gerät

• Reinigen Sie das Gehäuse und alle Zubehörteile nur mit einem

weichen feuchten Wischtuch. Zusätzlich kann milde Seifenlösung
verwendet werden.

• Lassen Sie kein Wasser in den Küvettenschacht gelangen.

• Stecken Sie keine Bürste und keine scharfen Gegenstände in den

Küvettenschacht, um Beschädigung an mechanischen Bauteilen zu
vermeiden.

• Trocknen Sie die gereinigten Teile sorgfältig mit einem weichen

Baumwolltuch ab.

Display

• Verkratzen Sie das Display nicht. Berühren Sie das Display nie mit

Kugelschreibern, Bleistiften oder ähnlichen spitzen Gegenständen.

• Reinigen Sie das Display mit einem weichen, fussel- und ölfreien

Baumwolltuch. Es kann auch ein verdünntes Fensterputzmittel
verwendet werden.

Nach der Inbetriebnahme des LUMIStox 300 erhalten Sie folgende

Die bei einer gegebenen Anzeige erforderliche oder mögliche Bedienung wird mit
den Funktionstasten unter dem Anzeigenfeld dargestellt. Dabei bedeutet:

Gewährleistung und Haftung

Der Hersteller leistet Gewähr dafür, dass das gelieferte Produkt frei von
Material- und Herstellungsfehlern ist, und verpflichtet sich, etwaige
fehlerhafte Teile kostenlos zu reparieren oder auszutauschen.

Die Garantiezeit für Geräte beträgt 36 Monate. Bei Abschluss eines
Wartungsvertrags innerhalb der ersten 6 Monate nach Kauf verlängert
sich die Garantiezeit auf 60 Monate.

Für Mängel, zu denen auch das Fehlen zugesicherter Eigenschaften
zählt, haftet der Lieferer unter Ausschluss weiterer Ansprüche wie folgt:
Alle diejenigen Teile, die innerhalb der Garantiezeit vom Tage des
Gefahrenüberganges an gerechnet nachweisbar infolge eines vor dem
Gefahrenübergang liegenden Umstandes, insbesondere wegen
fehlerhafter Konstruktion, minderwertiger Werkstoffe oder mangelhafter
Ausführung, unbrauchbar werden oder deren Brauchbarkeit erheblich
beeinträchtigt ist, werden nach Wahl des Lieferers unentgeltlich
ausgebessert oder ausgetauscht. Die Feststellung solcher Mängel muss
dem Lieferer unverzüglich, jedoch spätestens 7 Tage nach Feststellung
des Fehlers, schriftlich gemeldet werden. Unterlässt der Kunde diese
Anzeige, gilt die Leistung trotz Mangels als genehmigt. Eine darüber
hinausgehende Haftung für unmittelbare oder mittelbare Schäden
besteht nicht. Wenn vom Lieferer vorgegebene gerätespezifische
Wartungs- oder Inspektionsarbeiten innerhalb der Garantiezeit durch
den Kunden selbst (Wartung) oder durch den Lieferer (Inspektion)
durchzuführen sind und diese Anforderungen nicht eingehalten werden,
erlöschen Ansprüche für Schäden, die sich aus der Nichtbeachtung
dieser Anforderungen ergeben.

Weitergehende Ansprüche, insbesondere für Folgeschäden, können
nicht geltend gemacht werden.

Verschleißteile und Beschädigungen, die durch unsachgemäße
Handhabung, nicht ordnungsgemäße Installation oder nicht
bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch entstehen, sind von dieser
Bestimmung ausgeschlossen.

Startup

Operating environment

Observe the following points so that the device functions faultlessly and
thus has a long service life.

• Place the device securely on an even surface. Push no objects

under the device.

• The ambient temperature for transport, storage and operation must

be +16 to +29 °C (+61 to +84 °F).

NOTICE

Protect the device against extreme temperatures from heaters, direct sunlight and
other heat sources.

• The relative humidity must be under 80 % (no condensate

formation).

• Keep above and on all sides of the device a clearance of at least

15 cm, so that air can circulate and overheating of the electrical
parts is avoided.

• Do not use or store the device in extremely dusty, humid or wet

places.

• Keep the surface of the device, the cell compartment and all

accessories clean and dry at all times. Remove splashes or spilt
substances on or in the device immediately.

WARNING

Electrical dangers and fire hazard. Use only the supplied power cable.
Only qualified experts may perform the tasks described in this section of the

manual, in compliance with all locally applicable safety regulations.

NOTICE

Use only an earthed socket for the connection of this device to the power supply.
If you are not sure if the socket is earthed, have this checked by a qualified

electrician.
The power plug serves in addition to the power supply to isolate the device

quickly from the mains where necessary.
This is recommended for long-term disuse and can prevent potential dangers

in the event of a fault.
Therefore make sure that socket to which the device is connected is easy to reach

by each user at all times.

If necessary, connect the LUMIStox 300 with a printer through the 35-pin
parallel (par) interface or with a computer through the 9-pin serial (ser)
interface. Connect all devices to the power supply through the power
cables. Make sure that the LUMIStox 300 system diskette is in the
diskette drive. If this is not the case, insert the appropriate system
diskette.

• The system diskette must be inserted to operate the device!

• The write-protection must not be activated.

• Before any transporting, the diskette must be removed from the

drive!

Switch on the peripheral devices first through the power switch, then the
LUMIStox 300. With an automatic display sequence like a PC, the
LUMIStox 300 starts up until the display of <Temp: ___._°C please
wait>.

Quick start

1. Switch on printer or PC.

2. Insert system diskette in the LUMIStox 300.

3. Switch on LUMIStox 300 measurement device.

4. Switch on LUMIStherm incubation block.

5. Wait for end of 30-minute warm-up period.

6. In the warm-up period:

• Select luminescent bacteria test and prepare bacteria in

accordance with the work procedure.

• Salinate sample and check pH value.

• If required, prepare dilution series of the sample.

• Further steps on the test preparation and evaluation must be

performed in accordance with the current test work procedure.

Perform test

1. Possibly switch on automatic color correction.

2. On the LUMIStox 300 measurement device, select the required

evaluation mode (GL value or EC value) or the used test
(e.g. LCK480).

3. Enter the required default settings on the LUMIStox 300

measurement device.

4. Perform test in accordance with work procedure and menu

navigation of the LUMIStox 300.

5. Read off result.

6. Seal cell compartment by pressing the End function key.

Cleaning of device and cuvettes

CAUTION

Warranty and liability

The manufacturer warrants that the supplied product is free of material
and manufacturing defects, and undertakes to repair or to replace any
defective parts without charge.

The guarantee period for devices is 36 months. Upon conclusion of a
maintenance contract within the first 6 months after purchase, the
guarantee period extends to 60 months.

For defects, to which the lack of assured properties also counts, the
supplier is liable with exclusion of further claims as follows: all those
parts that, within the guarantee period calculated from the day of the risk
transfer, can be demonstrated as a result of circumstances prior to the
risk transfer, in particular due to defective design, inferior materials or
defective execution, to be unusable or whose usability is significantly
impaired, are improved or replaced in accordance with the choice of the
supplier free of charge. The identification of such defects must be
notified to the supplier immediately, however at the latest seven days
after the identification of the fault, in writing. If the customer omits this
notification, the performance is considered approved despite the defect.
Further liability for indirect or direct damages does not exist. If device­specific maintenance- or inspection work prescribed by the supplier is to
be performed within the guarantee period by the customer
(maintenance) or by the supplier (inspection) and these requirements
are not met, claims for damages that result from non-observance of
these requirements are void.

Further claims, in particular for consequential damages, cannot be made
valid.

Wear parts and damages that arise through improper handling, incorrect
installation or non-regulatory use are excluded from this clause.

Puesta en marcha

Entorno operativo

Tenga en cuenta los siguientes puntos para que el dispositivo funcione
perfectamente y tenga una larga vida útil.

• Coloque el dispositivo firmemente en una superficie plana. No

ponga ningún objeto encima del dispositivo.

• La temperatura ambiente para el transporte, almacenamiento y

funcionamiento debe oscilar entre +16 y +29 °C (entre +61 y
+84 °F).

Cambio del fusible

PELIGRO

Algunos circuitos de este dispositivo están protegidos contra sobretensiones
mediante fusibles. Para lograr una protección constante frente a riesgo de
incendio, reemplace estos fusibles sólo con unos del mismo tipo y potencia.

5. Espere a que termine el periodo de calentamiento de 30 minutos.

6. En el periodo de calentamiento:

• Seleccione el test de bacterias luminosas y prepare las

bacterias según el procedimiento de trabajo.

• Salinice la muestra y compruebe el valor de pH.

• Si es necesario, prepare series de dilución de la muestra.

• Se deberán realizar otros pasos en la preparación y

evaluación de la muestra según el procedimiento de trabajo de
test actual.

Realización de test

1. Puede que tenga que conectar la corrección de color automática.

2. En el dispositivo de medición LUMIStox 300, seleccione el modo

de evaluación necesario (valor de GL o valor de EC) o el test
utilizado (p. ej., LCK480).

3. Introduzca el ajuste predeterminado necesario en el dispositivo de

medición LUMIStox 300.

4. Realice el test según el procedimiento de trabajo y la navegación

de menú del LUMIStox 300.

5. Lea el resultado.

PELIGRO

Normalmente, los fusibles defectuosos indican un problema en el dispositivo. Si
se producen errores en los fusibles repetidamente, póngase en contacto con el
departamento de reparaciones para obtener instrucciones sobre el

Garantía y responsabilidad civil

El fabricante garantiza que el producto suministrado está libre de fallos
de material y de fabricación, y se compromete a realizar la reparación o
el reemplazo de las piezas defectuosas sin coste alguno.

El periodo de garantía de los dispositivos es de 36 meses. Si se
formaliza un contrato de mantenimiento en los primeros 6 meses tras la
adquisición, el periodo de garantía se ampliará a 60 meses.

Con la exclusión de posteriores reclamaciones, el proveedor es
responsable de defectos como la carencia de propiedades garantizadas
como sigue: todas aquellas piezas que, dentro del periodo de garantía
calculado desde el día de la transferencia del riesgo, se pueda
demostrar que son inservibles o que su capacidad de uso se ha visto

mantenimiento o revisión específicas de un dispositivo definidas por el
proveedor, durante el periodo de garantía, y no se cumplieran estos

Se ne raccomanda l'utilizzo per i lunghi periodi di disuso e per prevenire
potenziali pericoli in caso di guasti.

Pertanto, accertarsi che la presa, alla quale il dispositivo viene collegato, si trovi
sempre a facile portata per l'utente.

Se necessario, collegare LUMIStox 300 a una stampante tramite
l'interfaccia parallela (par) a 35 pin o a un computer tramite l'interfaccia
seriale (ser) a 9 pin. Collegare tutti i dispositivi all'alimentazione elettrica
mediante i cavi di alimentazione. Accertarsi che il dischetto di sistema
LUMIStox 300 si trovi nell'unità dischetto. In caso contrario, inserire il
dischetto di sistema appropriato.

• Per azionare il dispositivo, è necessario inserire il dischetto di

sistema!

• La protezione da scrittura non deve essere attivata.

• Prima del trasporto, rimuovere il dischetto dall'unità!

Accendere prima le periferiche tramite l'interruttore di alimentazione,
quindi accendere LUMIStox 300. Con una sequenza di visualizzazione
automatica come un PC, LUMIStox 300 si avvia fino alla visualizzazione
di <Temp: ____°C please wait\>.

Avvio rapido

1. Accendere la stampante o il PC.

2. Inserire il dischetto di sistema nel dispositivo LUMIStox 300.

3. Accendere il dispositivo di misurazione LUMIStox 300.

4. Accendere il blocco di incubazione LUMIStherm.

5. Attendere fino al termine del periodo di riscaldamento di 30 minuti.

6. Durante il periodo di riscaldamento:

• Selezionare il test con batteri luminescenti e preparare in

batteri in base alla procedura di lavoro.

• Salinare il campione e controllare il valore pH.

• Se richiesto, preparare la serie di diluizione del campione.

• Ulteriori passi per la preparazione e la valutazione del test

devono essere eseguiti in base alla procedura del test
corrente.

Esecuzione del test

1. Se possibile, attivare la correzione automatica del colore.

2. Sul dispositivo di misurazione LUMIStox 300, selezionare la

modalità di valutazione richiesta (valore GL o valore EC) o il test
utilizzato
(ad es. LCK480).

3. Inserire le impostazioni predefinite richieste sul dispositivo di

misurazione LUMIStox 300.

4. Eseguire il test in base alla procedura di lavoro e alla navigazione

del menu di LUMIStox 300.

5. Leggere il risultato.

6. Sigillare il vano cuvetta premendo il testo di funzione Fine.

Sostituzione del fusibile

PERICOLO

In alcuni circuiti di questo dispositivo sono utilizzati fusibili per proteggerli dalle
sovratensioni. Per una protezione costante dal rischio di incendio, sostituire
questi fusibili esclusivamente con fusibili dello stesso tipo e con lo stesso valore
nominale.

PERICOLO

I fusibili difettosi sono generalmente sintomi di problemi nel dispositivo. Se i
guasti dei fusibili si verificano ripetutamente, contattare il reparto assistenza per
istruzioni sulla procedura di restituzione ai fini di una riparazione. Non tentare mai
di riparare il dispositivo da soli.

Pulizia del dispositivo e delle cuvette

ATTENZIONE

Pericoli potenziali per gli occhi derivanti da sfregamento, ustioni o sostanze
chimiche. Prima di eseguire tutto il lavoro pulizia, scollegare sempre il dispositivo
dall'alimentazione elettrica.

AVVISO

Non utilizzare mai solventi come trementina, acetone o sostanze simili per pulire il
dispositivo, il display e gli accessori.

Dispositivo

• Pulire la scatola e tutti gli accessorio con un panno morbido e

umido. È possibile utilizzare anche una soluzione di sapone neutro.

• Non consentire l'ingresso di acqua nel vano cuvetta.

• Non inserire spazzole od oggetti appuntiti nel vano cuvetta, per

evitare di danneggiare i componenti meccanici.

Garanzia e responsabilità

Il produttore garantisce che il prodotto fornito è privo difetti di materiale e
manodopera e si incarica dell'eventuale riparazione o sostituzione delle
parti difettose senza alcun costo aggiuntivo per l'utente.

Il periodo di garanzia per i dispositivi è di 36 mesi. Allo scadere di un
contratto di manutenzione entro i primi 6 mesi dall'acquisto, il periodo di
garanzia si estende a 60 mesi.

Salvo ulteriori reclami, il fornitore è responsabile dei difetti, compresa la
mancanza delle seguenti caratteristiche: tutti i componenti, nel periodo
di garanzia calcolato dal giorno di trasferimento del rischio, di cui è
possibile dimostrare, in conseguenza delle circostanze antecedenti il
trasferimento del rischio, la sopravvenuta inutilizzabilità o che possono
essere utilizzati soltanto con significative limitazioni a causa di un difetto
già presente all’acquisto, in particolare a causa di progettazione errata,
materiali di bassa qualità o finitura non idonea, saranno riparati o
sostituiti a discrezione del fornitore. L'identificazione di tali difetti deve
essere indicata al fornitore per iscritto immediatamente, ma sempre non
oltre sette giorni dopo l'identificazione del problema. In caso di mancata
comunicazione da parte del cliente, la prestazione è considerata
approvata nonostante il difetto. Non esiste alcuna ulteriore
responsabilità per qualsiasi danno diretto o indiretto. Se entro il periodo
di validità della garanzia devono essere eseguiti degli interventi di
manutenzione e assistenza tecnica specifici per il dispositivo da parte
del cliente (manutenzione) o del fornitore (assistenza tecnica) e tali
requisiti non vengono soddisfatti, decade il diritto di rivendicazione per i
danni derivati dalla non osservanza delle suddette prescrizioni.

Non sono rivendicabili ulteriori reclami, in particolare i reclami inerenti al
risarcimento per danni indiretti.

I componenti usurati ed eventuali danni derivanti da un uso improprio,
da un'installazione errata o da un impiego non conforme alle istruzioni
non sono coperti dalla presente garanzia.
