Your SV-60 Steam Vacuum combines the suction of a high-powered vacuum with the optimal germ-killing power of a steam cleaning ﬂoor sanitizer – to thoroughly clean your ﬂoors without two separate machines. First, the vacuum feature picks up loose dirt. Then with the press of a button, the steamer heats up to 212°F in under a minute, to thoroughly clean and sanitize your floors. Use each function separately, or simultaneously. It’s the only floor care machine you’ll need!

Risk of electrical shock be sure to read and follow all instructions and warnings.

CAUTION

The SV-60 emits steam at 212˚F to sanitize the area of use. This means the steam head, pads, unit’s attachment system and all the accessories get very hot during use. Care should be taken when using this appliance and DO NOT touch them during use except in the approved manner. Exercise care when changing accessories and follow removal/changing instructions as outlined in this manual.

When using your Steam Vacuum, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following:

WARNING – To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury:

1. DO NOT leave the product unattended with the

power turned on. Unplug the unit from outlet when not in use and before conducting any maintenance or troubleshooting.

2. Turn the Steam Vacuum off before unplugging. When not in use, the product’s power cord should be unplugged.

3. DO NOT service the Steam Vacuum when it is plugged in.

4. DO NOT use with a damaged cord or plug. DO NOT use the Steam Vacuum if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water. Return to a service center.

5. Store the product in a place that is out of the reach of small children and close attention is necessary when used near children.

6. Use this product only for its intended us and according to this user manual, and use only authentic product parts and accessories.

7. DO NOT use in close proximity to ﬂammable materials. DO NOT use the Steam Vacuum in an enclosed space ﬁlled with vapor given off oil-based paint thinner, some moth prooﬁng substances, ﬂammable dust or other explosive or toxic vapors.

8. To unplug the power cord, grasp the plug to remove. DO NOT pull on the power cord itself. Do not pull or carry by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close door on the cord, pull cord around sharp corners or expose cord to heated surfaces.

9. DO NOT handle the power cord with wet hands.

10. Store the product in a cool place indoors.

11. DO NOT immerse the unit or expose it to rain. DO NOT use your Steam Vacuum outdoors or in damp areas.

12. DO NOT spray steam in the direction of another person, animal or electrical outlet.

13. Make sure to unplug the power cord prior to filling the product with water.

14. DO NOT allow to be used as a toy.

15. Not for space heating purposes.

Important Safety Information

WARNING

DO NOT modify the plug. Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock. To provide continued protection against risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlet only.

IMPORTANT

Use regular tap water, or if the tap water in your area is hard, we recommend you use distilled/puriﬁed water. Always empty water from water tank after use.

DO NOT use for any purpose other than described in the User’s Manual.

Keep the work area well lit.

After steam cleaning, place the Steam Vacuum on the Resting Pad and wait at least 5 minutes to allow the pad to cool before removing the Ultra-MicroFiber

16. DO NOT use the product with water that has been combined with detergent, aromatic perfumes, oils, alcohol, rinse and/or any other sort of chemicals. Use water only. Use regular tap water or distilled/ puriﬁed water if the tap water in your area is very hard.

17. To refill the product with water during use, follow the directions on pg 12. Unplug the product before attempting to add water.

18. The product and accessories become hot during use. Exercise care when changing accessories and follow removal/changing instructions as outlined in manual. Do not try to fasten or remove accessories during operation. Scalding may occur if this is done while appliance is active.

19. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments — use of attachments not provided, approved or sold

by HAAN will void warranty.

20. If the circuit breaker activates while using the steam function, discontinue product use immediately and contact the customer support center (Beware of the risk of electrical shock.) To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another appliance on same circuit as the Steam Vacuum.

21 DO NOT allow the product to be disassembled and/or modiﬁed by anyone other than an authorized HAAN® service technician. Doing so can result in ﬁre and/or electrical shock and would void warranty.

22.Use only on flat, horizontal surfaces. DO NOT use on walls, counters or windows.

23. Never leave the Steam Vacuum in one spot on any surface for any period of time. When resting or in between uses, always place the Steam Vacuum on the Resting Mat and make sure the unit is turned OFF.

24. Extreme caution should be exercised when using the Steam Vacuum to clean stairs.

25. Never use the Steam Vacuum on hard surface ﬂooring without the Pad Tray and Ulta-MicroFiber™ Pad.

26. Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with the Steam Vacuum, including broken glass. They may damage the unit.

27. DO NOT use without the Dust Collection Bin or HEPA filter in place. Empty the dust cup frequently when picking up very fine materials such as powder.

28. DO NOT put any object into openings on the unit not designated for that object. DO NOT use the unit with any openings blocked.

29. DO NOT use to pick up anything burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.

30. Connect to properly grounded outlets only. See Grounding Instructions below.

Grounding Instructions:

The HAAN® SV-60 must be connected to a grounded (3-prong) wiring system. Grounding provides a safe path of least resistance for electrical current, in the event the unit should malfunction or break down, thereby reducing the risk of electrical shock. The cord for this product has an equipmentgrounding conductor and a grounding plug. Do not plug it into an outlet that is not properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you aren’t sure if the outlet is properly grounded. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance is designed for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding attachment plug as illustrated above. Make certain that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No

plug adapter should be used with this appliance.

5. Water Tank Release Button - pops tank off for easy ﬁlling at the tap.

7. Removable Water Tank - goes to the sink for easy ﬁlling and allows for 40 minutes of continuous steam on just one tank.

8. Water Tank Level Indicator - a clear plastic window lets you see how much water is in the tank.

10. STEAM Light (Orange) - lights up when the steam switch is turned on.

11 . POWER Light (Red) - lets you know when the unit is plugged in.

12. VACUUM Light (Green) - lights up when the vacuum switch is turned on.

13. Dust Collection Bin -lifts out for easy bag less dirt removal.

14. HEPA Filter - lifts out for to replace filter when necessary.

15. Lower Cord Hook - to wrap cord for convenient storage.

16. Wheels - soft urethane wheels facilitate easy movement as well as low noise.

17. Wet Vac Motor - enables dry and wet cleaning.

18. Ultra-MicroFiber™ Pad (2) - patented super-absorbent Ultra-Microﬁber Pads lock in dirt and leave ﬂoors dry to the touch. Specially designed for ‘No-Touch’ attachment and removal.

19. Floor Protector/Resting Mat (1) - for use when heating up your ﬂoor sanitizer or when taking a break from active cleaning. Use with Pad Tray for hard surface ﬂoors.

20. High Pile Carpet Tray (1) - increases the height of the vacuum for use on higher pile carpets.

21. Pad Tray (1) - used to attach the Ultra- MicroFiber™ Pads before steaming hard surface floors.

Assembling Your HAAN® Steam Vacuum Cleaner

Align the lower end of the

aluminum pole with the lower locking pin on the side; line up grooves inside the white plastic pole base and snap it into place.

Look for the narrow end of the aluminum pipe; align the black pistol grip handle with the locking pin; hold the pin down; insert the pole and snap it into place.
