Warning:
To reduce the risk of injury to persons:
• Use this Smart Garage Door Controller only with Residential Sectional Garage doors.
• Do not enable this device on a one-piece or swinging garage door.
• Do not use this device on garage door openers made before 1993 without a working photo-eye safety system.

Unbox the contents of your kit
Your kit should contain two AAA batteries and the following:
A. Blackbox controller
B. Power adapter
C. Wireless door sensor
D. Opener cable

Mount the Blackbox controller
Locate the Blackbox and grab your stepladder.
Clean and wipe dry your selected mounting location, either on
the garage door opener or a nearby surface. Mount using the adhesive strips on the back of the Blackbox.
TIP: The Blackbox should be mounted within 6 feet of the
garage door opener and a power source. All input ports and LEDs should be visible and accessible aer mounting.

Locate the opener cable .
Plug the black connector into the Blackbox “OPENER” port.

Connect the opener cable to the Blackbox controller

Unplug your garage door opener.
Using your screwdriver, connect the other end of the opener
cable to your garage door opener push button terminals.

Connect the Blackbox controller to the garage door opener

Power up the Blackbox controller
Locate the power adapter
and plug into the DC IN port on
the Blackbox .
Plug the other end of the power adapter into the closest
power source. The status LED on the side of the Blackbox should begin to blink orange for setup.
Plug back in your garage door opener.

Connect to WiFi
Download the beam app from the App Store (iOS) or
Google Play (Android).
Open the app and select “Setup Your Smart Control Kit.”
Follow prompts within the app to select your wireless network
and enter your network password.
TIP: If you are a professional installer, setup in the beam app
should be done using the homeowner’s smartphone.

Program the Blackbox controller
Follow prompts within the app to program the Blackbox .
When directed, press your phone screen tightly against the
bottom setup port.
TIP: If setup is successful, the Blackbox’s status LED will
flash green and there will be an audible beep. If setup is not successful, you will be guided through setup again.

Scan the wireless door sensor code
Locate the wireless door sensor
.
Follow prompts within the app to create an account and scan
the Sensor Code found on the back of the sensor.
Enter a name to identify that door within the app.

Mount the wireless door sensor
Clean and wipe dry an area at the top of your garage door’s
interior panel.
Remove the battery tab from the back of the wireless door
sensor
and mount to the cleaned area of the garage door
using the adhesive Velcro strips. All done!
