Operating manual
This manual ensures safe and efficient use of the "thermio™ essential BCP" contact thermostat
(referred to as “device” in the following). This manual is a component of the device and must remain
accessible at all times for everyone who uses the device.
Everyone who uses the device must have read and understood this manual before commencing any
work. The basic prerequisite for working safely is compliance with all safety instructions and usage
instructions specified in this manual. Furthermore, the local accident prevention regulations and the

Description of function
The "thermio™ essential BCP" contact thermostat is a thermostat that is used to regulate the water
temperature, and which is fastened to the cylinder or to a pipe. The current water temperature is measured directly on the surface of the cylinder or the pipe by means of a contact (Fig. 1/1).
The temperature setpoint is set using the temperature adjustment knob (Fig. 1/2). When the contact
allows the thermostat to detect a decrease in temperature, the heating system is switched on and, once
the temperature setpoint is reached, is switched off again.
Temperature adjustment knob
There is a clearly marked dial (Fig. 1/3) on the temperature adjustment knob. Turning the temperature
adjustment knob allows the temperature setpoint to be set on the indicator marker (Fig. 1/4).

Intended use
• The contact thermostat may only be used for regulating the temperature of heating systems with
a temperature range from 0 °C to +110 °C.
• The contact thermostat may only be fastened to the following components:
− Pipe with a diameter of up to 75 mm
− Cylinder with a diameter of up to 470 mm

Any use other than the intended use or any other type of use are considered incorrect use. The legal
warranty is voided by any interference with, or modifications to, the device.
WARNING!
Danger due to insufficient wire cross-section!
If wires with an insufficient cross-section are used, a short circuit or fire may
occur.
− Only use terminals with a cross-section between 1 mm² and 2.5 mm²
for flexible wires.

The device is state-of-the art and designed in accordance with current safety requirements. However,
