GrimmSpeed Install Guide Series
Installing the GrimmSpeed Dodge Dart License Plate Kit
Updated 2/6/13
Introduction: This guide will illustrate the installation of the GrimmSpeed License
Plate Relocation Kit for the Dodge Dart.
Tools: The tools listed below are suggested for this task (figure 1).
- 17mm socket or wrench
- 5mm hex wrench
- 3mm hex wrench
Tips: A little bit of anti-seize on the main bolt will help prevent corrosion between
the aluminum bumper beam and the kit.
Procedure:
1. Begin by collecting your tools and parking your car in a safe spot.
2. First, locate and remove the factory tow hook cover using a small
screwdriver. Use care to not damage your paint.

3. Using a 17mm socket or wrench, install and tighten the main bolt to
approximately 45ft-lbs.
4. Using the M6x25 bolt (preloaded with blue Loctite), fasten the u-bracket to
the main bolt. Keep this loose, as you’ll adjust it in a bit.
5. Now, using the other two bolts (pictured above) and your 5mm hex wrench,
install the license plate bracket. You have a ton of adjustability here, so select
the orientation that you prefer and tighten both bolts. Lastly, make any
angular adjustment that you desire and tighten the center bolt.

6. Last step. Install your license plate using the provided button-heat machine
screws and your 3mm hex wrench. The longer 12mm screws are for those of
you wanting to run our beautiful license plate frames!
