Assembly

Before You Start

Review these instructions, and make sure you understand where and how the componets install to machine.

Install Detracker Frame Assembly

See parts lists below for proper descriptions and comments.
Refer to Figure 2
1. Attach detracker mount to center gang hanger with plate , using bolts , lock washers and nut . See “Prior Going To The Field” on page 5, for proper placement. Repeat same procedure for other side.
2. Mount shank to detracker mount tube by aligning the holes in the two plates (one on each side). Align holes in shank clamps on front side of shank, secure assembly with bolts and lock washers . These bolts thread into shank clamp. See “Prior Going To The Field” on page 5, for proper placement.
3. Now the set screws may be installed into the shank clamps. Attach bolt through top hole in shank, secure with lock nut .
4. Once every thing is adjusted, all bolts may be tightened to specs, See “Torque Value Chart” on page 6.

Prior Going To The Field

Detracker Placement

Refer to Figure 5
Adjust detracker frames to approximate location as shown in Figure 5 to clear other parts on machine. Adjust coulter assemblies to cover tire tracks.

Detracker Adjustments

Refer to Figure 6

Spring Adjustment

12. Coulters springs are preset at 10”, giving the coulters an initial operating force of 400 pounds. This setting is adequate for many no-till conditions. For lighter no-till conditions where rocks or other obstructions are a problem, you can lengthen the springs to protect the coulters from impact.
Spring Length
Force
10.25” (26.04cm) 300lbs (136kg) 10” (25.4cm) 400lbs (181kg)
9.75” (24.77cm) 525lbs (238kg)
Note: Setting the coulter spring length shorter than 9.75”
may contribute to premature failure of parts and voids the warranty.

Detracter Height Adjustment

13. The initial height of the detracker coulter assemblies is 1 1/2” - 2” deeper than the machine gangs. To adjust the height, loosen the set screws on the clamp shanks and slide the shank up or down to
20
21
the desired height, then re-tighten set screws.
Note: May need to adjust coulter height for different field
conditions.
14. Be sure all bolts are tightened to specs, See “Torque Value Chart” on page 6.
15. This completes the setup.
