Addendum to Operating Manual for Liftkleen Parts Cleaner
for Roto-Basket (TRB-1) Product
Graymills Roto-Basket is intended to be installed on Graymills Liftkleen T-Series Parts
Washers with lift platforms.
Users of the Roto-Basket should first refer to Operating and Maintenance
Instructions(OMI) #795-08877 intended for use with T-Series parts washers for
information regarding safety, installation, operation and maintenance instructions for the
parent unit.
SAFETY-
• Do not operate Roto-Basket with tumbler door open.
• Remove basket from platform before loading/unloading parts. Avoid dropping
parts into Liftkleen tank that could interfere with operation of platform or basket.
• Use caution around the unit’s gearing, ratchet and drive mechanism, and avoid
pinch points when handling water hoses or power cords around the basket.
• Do not place objects on the platform that could become dislodged and block the
rotation of the basket or operation of the platform.
• During the rotation of the basket, long parts inside the basket can jam/stop the
perforated basket from rotating properly. Ensure that parts inside the basket do
not protrude through the basket perforations or interfere with rotation of the
basket.
• A visual inspection of lift, basket and tank is periodically recommended.
WARNING-Make sure electric power and supply air is disconnected to Liftkleen
unit before loading/unloading basket or maintenance is performed on basket to eliminate
any possibility of sudden movement that may result in injury.
InstallationIf the Roto-Basket is being installed on a Liftkleen unit already in operation, skip to Point
2, below.
1. If you are installing the Roto-Basket on a Liftkleen unit that is just being installed,
first follow all appropriate setup instructions in Operating and Maintenance
Instructions(OMI) #795-08877. If there are questions about installing or
operating the unit, contact Graymills customer service at 773-248-6825.
2. Once a Liftkleen unit is in operation, raise the platform above the surface the fluid
in the “UP” fixed position.
3. It may be helpful to wipe down the lift platform before installation of the
Roto-Basket.
4. Remove Roto-Basket from packing. Test and make sure the door on the basket
closes securely before installation.
5. Remove the Roto-Basket frame from the packing.
6. Four ¼”-20- screws are provided to secure the Roto-Basket assembly to the lift
platform of the Liftkleen. U-Bolts may also be used. It may be easier to remove
the basket from the mounting frame before installing the frame on the lift
platform. The mounting frame should be positioned towards the front of the lift
platform, with the ratchet mechanism on the right as you face the unit. Install the
four ¼”-20 screws and flat washers into the mounting frame and so they extend
through the screen of the lift platform and secure with hex nuts provided.
7. The chain and bracket should extend in a straight line from handle of the ratchet
mechanism to the flange of the Liftkleen. The chain should not extend at an angle.
Mount the bracket to front flange of the Liftkleen. A second bracket size is
provided to accommodate different width of flanges of the Liftkleen. Chain length
should be about 15 ¾” long but can be adjusted to fit.
8. The basket is removed/replaced by turning the basket with the chain until it
engages.
9. Always remove and replace basket from the mechanism with the basket closed to
prevent product from shifting and spilling out of the basket. An optional “docking
station” can be purchased from Graymills to use on a work table to hold the
basket for loading/unloading.
MAINTENANCE
10. Periodic inspection of ratchet mechanism, basket, chain and bracket is
recommended
11. The Torsion Spring, Extension Spring, Chain Hook and Chain, and Retaining
Ring are parts that could be replaced after extended normal usage. Consult
Graymills if your usage requires some other replacement parts.
