Warranty
Your ADVCmini options are covered by a limited warranty when you register your Grass Valley unit. This warrant y is for a period of one year (or two years in Eur opean Union countries) from the date of purchase from Grass Valley or an authorized Grass Valley agent. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the Grass Valley unit and is not transferable. Grass Valley warrant s that for this perio d the unit will be in good wor king order. Should our unit fail to be in good working order, Grass Valley will, at its option, repair or replace it at no additional charge, provided that the unit has not been subjected to misuse, abuse or non-Grass
Valley authorized alterations, modications
and/or repair. Proof of purchase is re quired to validate your warranty.
Grass Valley is not responsible for any lost
prots, lost savings or other incident al or
consequential damages arising out of the use of, or inability to use, this unit. This includes damage to property and, to the extent permit ted by law, damages for personal injury. This warrant y is in lieu of all other

If you or your close relatives have experienced any of these symptoms, consult a doctor before using this unit.

Installation
When you insert the Installation CD (CD-ROM) and execute ADVC mini.mpkg,
the setup program starts and the following screen appears. Follow the instruc-
tions on the screen to install the application (ADVC capture). After the instal-
lation is completed, connect ADVCmini. (Refer to “Connection Procedure” on
page 10.)

(1) Power indicator LED
When power is provided from USB port, this indicator lights in green.
(2) S-Video input connector

The red connector is used for the right (R) audio input, and the white
connector is for the left (L) audio input.

Connection Procedure
Use the following procedure to connect ADVCmini.
(1) Use the USB cable to connect ADVCmini to the PC.
(2) Use the video/audio cable to connect ADVCmini to the playback device.
If the playback device supports S-Video, you can use an S-Video cable for connection.
In this case, you do not have to use the video cable in addition to the S-Video cable.
(Connect the audio cable only.)
A SCART cable is supplied with models for EU countries. If the playback
device supports SCART, you can use a SCART cable for connection. In this case, you
do not have to use either the video/audio cable or the S-Video cable.

Connect the cables in the order of USB cable video/audio cable (or
S-Video cable, SCART cable).

When you start the application (ADVC capture), the following screen appears.

Clicking the SCART input button switches the input in the order of Composite
input S-Video input RGB input.

(8) Image quality adjustment box
You can adjust the image quality (hue, brightness, etc.) of the video source.
The adjustments made here are reected during capture. Normally, use the
default values.
Capture Procedure
Use the following procedure to capture.
(1) Select the video source for the input from the video source selection box.
(2) Select the save destination for the le from the le save destination selection
box.
(3) Click the REC button to start capture.
(4) Click the STOP button to stop capture.
