The HT701 is not pre-confi gured to support or carry emergency calls to any type of hospital, law enforcement agency, medical care unit (“Emergency Service(s)”) or any other kind of Emergency Service. You must make ad­ditional arrangements to access Emergency Services. It is Your responsibility to purchase SIP-compliant Internet telephone service, properly confi gure the HT701 to use that ser- vice, and periodically test your confi gura- tion to confi rm that it works as You expect. If You do not do so, it is Your responsibility to purchase traditional wireless or landline tele­phone services to access Emergency Servic-
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not attempt to open, disassemble, or modify the device
• Do not use a third party power adapter
• Do not expose this device to temperatures outside range of -10 °C to +55 °C
• Do not expose the HT701 to environments outside of the following humidity range: 10-90% RH (non-condensing)
• Do NOT power cycle the HantyTone during system boot up or fi rmware upgrade. You may corrupt fi rm- ware images and cause the unit to malfunction.

The Handy­Tone series is compact, works with any cordless phone and fax machines and offers the simplicity of plug and dial, making it ideal for the basic IP telephony user
CONNECTING THE HT701
Refer to the illustration below when following the instructions on the next page.
1. Connect a standard touch-tone ana­log telephone (or fax machine) to PHONE port.
2. Insert the Ethernet cable into the Internet port of HandyTone and connect the other end of the Ether­net cable to an uplink port (a router, a modem, etc.).
3. Using the HandyTone embedded web server or IVR (Interactive Voice Prompt) menu, you can further confi gure the phone using either a static IP or DHCP.

1. From the analog phone, press *** to get into the IVR menu. Enter option 02 to obtain the Handy­Tone’s IP address.
2. Type the HandyTone’s IP address in your PC browser.
3. Log in using password “admin” to confi gure the HandyTone.

You will need the following information to confi gure the HandyTone via the web browser:
IP address, subnet mask and gateway IP if using static IP.
SIP server and/or Outbound Proxy FQDN or IP address.
User subscriber information: User ID, Authentica­tion ID, Password
HandyTone supports “Plug-n-Call” if your ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) provides this automatic provisioning service. Ensure the HandyTone has an internet connection (either DHCP or static IP in your internet ready network), then power up the device.
Please contact your ITSP for additional settings that may be necessary to confi gure the device.
