body and cause extremely serious injury, including the need for amputation. Fluid or material splashed
in the eyes or on the skin can also cause serious injury.
D Fluid or material injected into the skin might look like just a cut, but it is a serious injury. Get im-
mediate medical attention.

FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, AND EXPLOSION HAZARD
Poor ventilation, open flames, or sparks can cause a hazardous condition and result in a fire or
explosion and serious injury.
D If there is any static sparking or you feel an electric shock while using this equipment, stop dis-
pensing immediately. Do not use the equipment until you identify and correct the problem.

Setup
Charge Batteries Before First Use
CAUTION
Only charge the grease gun with the locking switch in
the OFF position. Charging in the ON position will
damage the charger and the motor.
The grease gun battery must be charged at least 16
hours before initial use. (See Battery Charging, page
6).
Filling the Grease Gun
The grease gun can be filled two ways.
D Using the grease gun loader valve for loading bulk
quantities of grease. See Fig. 1.
D Using prefilled tubes of grease.
Loader Valve (1)

Fig. 1
If only the loader valve is used to fill the grease gun,
it’s recommended that the rubber plunger inside the
grease gun barrel be turned around. This permits
trouble–free filling and greasing by ensuring that no
grease is pressed into the area behind the plunger.
See the procedure “Modifying the Grease Gun for use
with the Grease Gun Loader Valve” on page 4.
Note: The loader valve for bulk grease filling requires
the use of a filler adapter valve. See the Accessories
listing on page 9.

WARNING
Make certain that the open, threaded barrel end of
the grease gun barrel always points away from
yourself and others.
1. Unscrew the gun’s head. Unscrew the plastic grip
(1) and the locking nut (2) from the connecting rod.
The connecting rod (8) must be held firmly by the
clamp lever (3). See Fig. 2 and Fig 4.

2. Place the barrel with the large opening on a firm
base and push the clamp lever (3). Remove the
interior of the barrel, including the locking disc (4),
plunger (5), supporter disc (6), and the long spring
(7). See Fig. 3.

used battery properly.
Do not short circuit, charge, force
over discharge, disassemble, crush,
penetrate, incinerate, or heat the
battery to a temperature exceeding
185_ F (85_ C).
Any misuse or abuse of the battery
may cause it to leak or explode.
CAUTION
D Only charge the grease gun with the locking
switch in the OFF position.
D Do not switch the gun on while charging.
D Do not charge at temperatures less than 41_ F
(+5_C) or over 104_ F (+40_C).
D Use only Graco approved chargers for EZ–Shot.
Important: Before using the EZ–Shot for the first time
follow the “Charge Batteries Before First Use” procedure on page 4.
D Charge battery only indoors.
D Avoid Moisture.
D Use only the original charger.
D Avoid mechanical stresses on the cable.
D Do not use plug or cable if damaged.
D The main voltage must be in accord with the data
on the charger’s type plate. Main input voltage is
120V AC 60Hz.
D Do not leave in direct sunlight.
Do not dismantle the charger or battery, or short circuit
the charging connector. Avoid the use of extension
cables. If necessary, the maximum length is 32 ft.
(10m) – the cable cross section must be a least 3 x 1
mm2.
WARNING
When charging, ensure that charging cables are
located so that no one will step or trip on them.

Battery Replacement
Important: If new batteries are used follow the “Charge
Batteries Before First Use” procedure on page 4.
1. Remove Cover (6). See Fig. 8.
CAUTION
Take notice of how the electrical leads are disconnected from the battery in steps 2 and 3. When reassembling, both the short lead and long lead must be
connected to the battery in the same direction.
2. Carefully slide battery (5) out of grease gun. When
the battery is partially out, disconnect short lead
(3) on the bottom of the battery.
3. Continue removing battery (5) and disconnect long
battery lead (4).
4. Using the new battery, connect long lead (4) in the
same direction as it was removed.
5. Slide new battery (5) partially into gun and connect
short lead (3) in the same direction as it was
removed.
6. Slide new battery (5) fully into gun and replace
