1 Safety Precautions

Observe this documentation, in particular all
included safety information, in order to pro­tect yourself and others from injury, and to
prevent damage to the accessory.

• Carefully and completely read and
adhere to these operating instructions,
as well as the operating instructions for
the associated instrument.

Retain these documents for future refer­ence.

• The accessory may only be used as long
as it’s in good working order.
Inspect the accessory before use. Pay
particular attention to damage, broken
insulation or kinked cables.

• The accessory may only be used for the
tests/measurements described in the
associated instrument‘s documentation.

• Fully unreel the cable before starting a
test/measurement. Never perform a test/
measurement with the cable rolled up.

2 Applications

Intended Use / Use for Intended Purpose

The E-Set Basic (Z593A) is a suitable acces­sory for earth measurements in accordance
with the 3 and 4-wire measuring methods
with the following measuring and test instru­ments:

• PROFITEST MXTRA / MXTRA IQ

• PROFITEST MPRO / MPRO IQ

• GEOHM C, GEOHM 5

• GEOHM PRO and XTRA
Safety of the operator, as well as that of the

accessory and instrument, is only assured
when it’s used for its intended purpose.

Use for Other than Intended Purpose

Using the accessory for any purposes other
than those described in these condensed
operating instructions is contrary to use for
intended purpose.

Liability and Guarantee

Gossen Metrawatt GmbH assumes no liabil­ity for property damage, personal injury or
consequential damage resulting from
improper or incorrect use of the product, in
particular due to failure to observe the prod­uct documentation. Furthermore, all guaran­tee claims are rendered null and void in such
cases.

Nor does Gossen Metrawatt GmbH assume
any liability for data loss.

Repairs

Unauthorized modifications to the accessory
are prohibited.

If it can be ascertained that the accessory
has been modified, no guarantee claims can
be honored by the manufacturer with regard
to personal safety, measuring accuracy,
compliance with applicable safety measures
or any consequential damages.
