•Battery life. All digital cameras that contain a TFT display will demand high
current usage from the batteries. To save battery power always bare in mind the
following advice:
• Keep the display switched off until it’s required. Use the camera’s viewing lens.
• Only use the flash when necessary. Keep the flash switched off until required.
• If the camera has optical zoom then do not constantly change the zoom range.
• Always use branded high quality alkaline batteries (Duracell) whenever possible.
• Rechargeable batteries may be used but these must be high current Nickel Metal
Hydride batteries of 1800mAh capacity or more.
• It is strongly recommended that a spare set of batteries are carried at all times.
• Installing the software: Important: Do not connect the camera to your PC until
the software has been installed. Insert the supplied disc into your PC CD drive and
follow the on screen information. You may be asked to fill in the serial number
before the software can be installed. This serial number is printed on the disc.
• When all the software programmes have been installed, the PC must be restarted
before any of the programmes can be used.
•Downloading images to your PC: When you have taken some shots and want to
download / print the images. Connect the camera to the PC using the supplied
USB cable. Download the images to your PC using the instructions provided on
the Quick Start Guide or in the instruction manual supplied on disc.
•Memory cards: The camera has inbuilt 32 MB memory for image / sound
storage. If this becomes full and you are unable to download them to a PC then
additional memory cards are available from most PC and camera shops. The
memory capacity ranges to 512 MB. Memory card type number required is SD or
MMC Card. The camera will automatically store the next lot of images onto this
card. Don’t forget that the images are stored permanently on the card / camera
until you erase / delete them by the camera or PC.
•Familiarisation: As with all new purchases take time to familiarise yourself with
the camera’s basic operations. As you become more confident then explore the
more advanced features offered on this camera. Remember to handle a digital
camera in the exact same way as you would for a normal film camera: Carefully
frame your subject, Gently press the shutter to prevent blurred images, do not take
shots into the sun or this will result in a dark silhouette, use a lower resolution for
moving subjects.
