For you own safety read following instructions carefully before attempting to connect this clock radio to the mains . Main Supply:230V, 50Hz ,AC only This unit is designed to operate on a 230V,50Hz supply only. Connecting it to other power sources may damage it. Ensure that the supply corresponds to the information on the rating tabel on the bottom of the unit. This component system may be fitted with a non-rewireable plug. If it is necessary to change the fuse in a non-rewireable plug the fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover becomes lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a replacement , available from the manufacturer, is obtained. It is important that the colour of the replacement fuse cover corresponds with the colour marking on the base of the plug. If the plug needs to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket or becomes damaged. It should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted following the wiring instructions below. The plug must then be disposed of safety, as insertion into a 13A socket is likely to cause an electricity hazard.
IMPORTANT
The wires in the mains plug should be connected as shown in the diagram. The colours of the wires in the mains lead of the unit may not correspond with coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug. Connect them as follows : The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter"N" or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter "L" or coloured red. There should be no connection to the earth terminal of your plug. If a 13Amp(BS 1363) Plug is used, a 3 Amp Fuse must be fitted , or if any other type of Plug is used a 3 Amp or 5 Amp Fuse must be fitted, either in the Plug or Adaptor , or on the Distribution Board.

ESTABLISH A SAFE SOUND LEVEL
Over time your hearing will adapt to continuous loud sounds and will give the impression that the volume has in fact been reduced. What seems normal to you may in fact that be harmful . To guard against this set the volume at a low level.
Slowly increase the level until you can hear comfortably and clearly and without distortion.
Damage to your hearing is accumulative and is irreversible.
Any ringing or discomfort in the ears indicates that the volume is maybe too loud.

General Information
Features

DVD region code
DVD players and discs are designed with region numbers which dic­tate the region (printed on the rear panel). If the region number does not match the region number in your DVD player, you will not be able to play the disc. If you try to play the DVD, the message WRONG REGION will appear on OSD.
The region number for this DVD player is 2.
Disc can be playbacked
DVD discs Multi-titles. Titles may be subdivided into chapters.
Audio CDs and MP3
Disc are divided into tracks.
Note
You cannot play CD-G, CD-EXTRA, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and
USB+HUB discs.
You cannot play illegally produced discs.
You cannot play scratched discs.
You cannot play disc that are dusty, soiled or marked with fin-
gerprints.
Glossary of disc terms
Title (DVD)
The longest sections of a picture or a music piece on a DVD; a movie, ect., for a picture piece on a video software; or an album, etc., for a music piece on and audio software. Each title is as­signed a title number enabling you to locate the title you want.
Chapter (DVD)
Sections of a picture or a music piece that are smaller than titles. A title is composed of several chapters. Each chapter is assigned a chapter number enabling you to locate the chapter you want. Depending on the disc, no chapters may be recorded.
Conventions about this manual
Instructions in this manual describe the controls on the system.
You can also use the controls on the remote control if they have the same or similar names as those on the system.
The types of functions and operations that can be used for a par-
ticular disc vary depending on the features of that disc. In some cases, these functions and operations may differ from the descrip­tions given in this Operations Manual. In this event, follow the in­structions given on the screen. This Operations Manual only cov­ers basic disc operations.
For some operations, the “INVALID KEY” may appear on the
screen. This indicates that the operation described in this Opera­tions Manual is not permitted for the current disc.
The drawings about the TV screen and front panel display used in
this Operations Manual are purely for the purposes of explana­tion. The actual displays may differ slightly from what are shown here.
WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT A SCART CABLE AND HDMI CABLE AT THE SAME TIME TO A TV. ONLY USE EITHER A SCART OR HDMI CABLE TO THIS PLAYER. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS
WILL RESULT IN NO PICTURE SHOWING ON THE TV.
HDMI CABLES ARE AVAILABLE FROM MOST TV / HIFI RETAIL OUTLETS.

Notes on disc
Disc handling precautions
To keep the disc clean, handle the disc by its edge. Do not touch
the surface.
Do not stick paper or tape on the disc.
If there is glue (or a similar substance) on the disc, remove the glue completely before using the disc.
Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources such as hot
air ducts, or leave it in a car parked in direct sunlight as there can be considerable rise in temperature inside the car.
After playing, store the disc in its case.
Do not write on the label side with a ball-point pen or other writing
utensils.
Be careful not to drop or bend the disc.
Install Batteries in the Remote Control
1. Open the battery cover on the back of the remote.
2. Insert two AAA batteries. Make sure that the battery polarity (+ and -) are aligned correctly.
3. Replace the battery cover.
You can control the system using the supplied remote. Insert two batteries by matching the + and - on the batteries. When using the remote, point it at the remote sensor on the front panel of this sys­tem.
Disc cleaning precautions
Before playing, clean the disc with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc
from the center to out.
Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commerically
avaiable cleaners or anti-static spray intended for viny1 LPs.
Disc installing precautions
Do not install more than one disc on disc tray.
Do not place the disc on the tray up-side down.
Do not try to close the disc tray when the disc is not installed
properly.
Accessories
Check that you have the following items:
RCA cable (x1)
Remote control (x1)
AAA batteries (x2) Owners manual (x1) you are reading it
If remote doesn’t operate properly: Check the polarity (+,-) of the batteries (Dry-Cell).
Check if the batteries are drained.
Check if remote sensor is blocked by obstacles.
Check if there is any fluorescent lighting nearby.
Note
Do not leave the remote in an extermely hot or humid place.
Do not use a new battery with an old one.
Do not drop any foreign object into the remote casing, particu-
larly when replacing the batteries.
Do not expose the remote sensor to direct sunlight or lighting
apparatuses. Doing so may cause a malfunction.
If you will not use the remote for an extended period of time,
remove the batteries to avoid possible damage from battery leak­age and corrosion.

5. FAST REVERSE : press to do fast reverse search.
6. STOP : press to stop playback.
7. TITLE/PBC: Dispaly the title menu if present on the disc (DVD
only) & switch the PBC functions to on or off.
8. DIRECTION BUTTONS : press to select the item you want.
9. SETUP : enter into the SETUP menu.
10. PROGRAM: To program the tracks based on your own order.
11. NUMERIC KEYS: Select the items or settings.
12.HDMI SEL: HDMI selection, by default the resolution is set to
720P. each time this button is pressed SLOWLY the resolution will change.
13.ANGLE: To access various camera angles on DVD.
14. AUDIO : change the audio channels of a DVD if available, or selects stereo, left or right audio channel of a VCD disc.
15. REPEAT: Press to select variations of continuous play.
16. MUTE: Disables or enables sound output.
17.OPEN/CLOSE : open or close the disc tray.
18. NEXT SKIP : skip to next chapter or track.

3.S-VIDEO OUT socket Connect to S-video input of a TV
4.VIDEO OUT socket Connect to video input of a TV.
5.HDMI socket Connect to HDMI input of a TV. Warning do not connect a Scart cable when using the HDMI cable.
6. SCART OUT socket If your TV is not fitted with an HDMI socket. Connect a Scart cable to this socket and the Scart input on your TV. Warning do not connect an HDMI cable when scart cable is being used.
